Mariano Rivera had surgery today on his right shoulder. He had been feeling pain the that shoulder for two years, and has finally decided to get it fixed. He will be able to start throwing again in 3 months, and isn't supposed to miss any time. The scary thing is that he could actually throw better next year, a year in which he had 39 saves and an ERA of 1.40. Obviously age is still a concern as he is 38 years old, and the older you get the longer it takes to recover from surgery/injuries.
