AL Central Movers and Shakers

Jermaine Dye, the subject of numerous trade rumors in recent weeks, is headed from the White Sox to the Reds for Homer Bailey, according to the Dayton Daily News.

Jermaine Dye can still hit, and will continue to hit for the Reds. However, the White Sox get a young guy in Homer Baily that know one knows what to expect. The 22 year old will be joining an intriguing White Sox line up and will most likely be the 4th or 5th starter. I like Baily a lot, but I believe that is because of his awesome name.

Also.
According to various reports, the Tigers have acquired catcher Gerald Laird from the Rangers in exchange for minor league right-handed pitchers Guillermo Moscoso and Carlos Melo and the deal will be officially announced on Monday at the start of the winter meetings.

I like the move for the Tigers, who need to replace Ivan Rodriguez. As long as no one trades for Salty, I'll be OK with it.
