"The Red Sox took vigorous exception to the details of a soon-to-be-published biography of Manny Ramirez, first reported yesterday in the Herald. The book, written by Shawn Boburg and Jean Rhodes, “Becoming Manny: Inside the Life of Baseball’s Most Enigmatic Slugger,” alleges that when Ramirez shoved traveling secretary Jack McCormick to the ground last June in the visitors clubhouse at Houston’s Minute Maid Park following a dispute over tickets, Ramirez was merely settling an old score. “Jack disrespected Manny for many years and on many occasions,” Gene Mato, one of Ramirez’ former agents, told the authors (Boston Herald)."
Manny...SHUT THE FUCK UP! You pushed an old man to the ground and now you are trying to turn it back around on him. The story goes on to say that the Red Sox protected the old man instead of one of their own players. Well Manny it is really hard to protect a guy who's incident report is a mile long. So when you start pushing elderly people to the ground, it usually will piss some people off. Manny ran himself out of town. I hate it because he was my favorite player, but this guy has a fucking screw loose, and just needs to keep his mouth shut.
“I think we did everything in our power to protect Manny,” Francona said. “At the same time, we wanted him to own up to his actions. We tried to do it privately but also make him understand that there were consequences for his actions. I thought we did the best we could. I think we bent over backward for Manny, like we did many times (Boston Herald).”
We all know Francona would jump in front of a bus for his players. It is your own fault Manny that you pushed it too far. This is why you don't have a contract even though you are one of the best players in the league. This is why the players on your own team voted you out. No one wants to deal with your fucking bullshit.
