Red Sox 8 Marlins 2

Big Papi is still rolling as he hit his 4th HR in 9 games. Boston has been playing good ball of late, and if Ortiz is really turning around his season then the Sox may be the best team in all of baseball.

Last night Boston was up 2-1 going into the bottom of the 4th inning when David Ortiz hit his 5th HR of the season, but Boston wasn't done there as they went on to score 6 runs in that inning. Wakefield was solid going 6 innings letting up only 2 runs. Many people are starting to believe Wakefield might make his first All-Star appearance, and you have to admit he has been playing well this season. He made it all the more convincing as he collected his 9th win of the season (6-0 at Fenway Park) as the Sox rolled over the Marlins 8-2.

Every Red Sox hitter (with the exception of Mike Lowell had at least 1 hit in this game. Boston top to bottom (with Ortiz hitting) is very scary and with the way they have been pitching Boston looks like they could take complete control of not just the AL East but the entire AL. With the win the Sox are 2 games up on the Yankees and have the best record in the AL (2nd in all of baseball).
