Red Sox @ Tigers Preview

The Sox will facing one of the best young pitchers in the game. Rick Porcello will try to win his sixth straight start. Honestly do yourself a favor and take some time to watch this kid he is the real deal and if the Tigers don't find a way to ruin him he will be an ace for a long time to come.

On the other side of things the Sox are putting Dice-K back on the hill. He has been anything but stellar. Right now Dice-K is sporting an 8.82 era and a 0-3 record....Ouch. He will try to right the ship against a team that can really jump on a pitcher fast. The good news? Dice-K 3-1 with a 2.81 against the Tigers in his career. Dice-K has also showed signs of improvement over his last two starts, all we can do is hope he figures things out.

One would think Boston will stick with their changes in the batting order, since they exploded their last game. Dice-K is got going to pitch 7 scoreless innings, so Boston really needs to come up and fix their defense. We all know Ortiz is all done, but guys like Bay, Youk, Pedroia, and Lowell need to carry this offense till Boston can go out and grab another hitter.

Game starts 7:05 on NESN.

Here is the lineup for tonight...

1. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
2. J.D. Drew, RF
3. Kevin Youkilis, 1B
4. Jason Bay, LF
5. Mike Lowell, 3B
6. David Ortiz, DH
7. Jason Varitek, C
8. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
9. Nick Green, SS

I like it except I would probably bat Ellsbury 1st or 9th so they could utilize his speed for players like Drew, Youk, and Bay, but in Francona I trust.
