Rays @ Red Sox Preview (Lineup Is In)

The Rays have given up on the season and now have lost Pena for the season. They have lost 8 in a row in now they have to travel to Fenway to face Lester tonight. The Rays counter with James Shields who has been far from impressive this season with a ERA of 4.02 and a record of 9-10.

Shields has gone 3-6 with a 5.40 ERA in 11 starts versus Boston, and 1-2 with a 5.79 ERA this season. Boston has a couple guys that really know how to hit off him, as Martinez is 3 for 9 with a double in his career against Shields, while J.D. Drew has batted .391 with 2 homers and 4 doubles against him.

Lester is the Sox ace right now. Last time out The left-hander held Chicago to 4 hits in 7 scoreless innings of a 6-1 victory Sunday. He started the year off rough against Tampa posting a 12.54 ERA while losing his first 2 starts, but has rebounded with a 2.25 ERA in his last two, striking out 19 over 12 innings.

This is another series in which the Sox need to take advantage of a team that is low on bodies and luck...
