Ellsbury For MVP?

DP's hatred for one Jacoby Ellsbury must be fading at this point, as this guy proves game after game that he is the best center fielder in all of baseball. Beyond that he might even end up with the MVP by the end of the season.

Sure, his steals are a little down from where they usually are (on pace for 46), but he is making up for it in every other way. He is having a career year batting (.320), on base percentage (.376), homeruns (16, on pace for 26), RBIs (58 on pace for 95). Not to mention he is pretty damn good in the field.

I don't think he will win it because Adrian Gonzalez is on the team and I think in the end he will end up winning it, but Jacoby is cementing himself as the best leadoff hitter in the AL, and the best center fielder in the game. Good thing we held on to this guy.

This Is Kinda Bullshit

I know I shouldn't pay attention to quarter season rewards and stuff of that nature, but this pissed me off. ESPN's David Schoenberg or field.... David Jewishlastname came out with his quarter MVP awards and he had the rankings go:

1. Jose Bautista
2. Curtis Granderson
3. Ben Zobrist
4. Miguel Cabrera
5. Howie Kendrick

How the fuck do you leave Adrian Gonzalez off this list? I'm fine with Jose Bautista (even though he's on HGH) because he's hitting a million home runs, But Gonzalez is leadeing the league in RBI's and in my eyes should be number 2 on this list. No disrespect to Granderson (who's also on the juice), Zobrist, Miggy and Howie but Gonzalez is much better than them.

By the end of the year A Gon will win the MVP and Jose Bautista and Curtis Granderson are going to get busted for HGH.

Josh Hamilton Wins AL MVP

"Josh Hamilton overcame eight trips to rehabilitation for drug and alcohol addiction to lead the major leagues in batting average (.359) and slugging percentage (.633) and help Texas reach its first World Series. He had 32 homers and 100 RBIs despite missing nearly all of September because of two broken ribs." Boston.com

Blah, blah, blah Josh Hamilton was a former addict. I get it, you overcame something great, I don't care anymore. What I do care though is how he missed all of September and still won the award. That pisses me off. I think either Miguel Cabrera or Robinson Cano should have received it. Miggy had lead the AL with 126 RBIs and a .420 on-base percentage.

I hate Josh Hamilton, maybe it could be for fantasy reasons, or maybe because I'm sick of his story. Either way, way to g douche bag you won an award you shouldn't have.

Ginger Ale celebrations are gay.

Pedroia Wins AL MVP

Dustin Pedroia has officially won the AL MVP award. Little Dusty reported for duty all year hitting .326 with 17 HRs and 83 RBIs while breaking franchise records by a 2nd baseman for runs, hits, doubles, batting average, total bases, and extra-base hits. He had an amazing year, I really thought either him or Youk could have won it this year (You came in 3rd), but Little Dusty probably deserved it. It is kind of amazing that Pedroia is the first Red Sox player to win MVP since Mo Vaughn in 1995. Not Manny, not Big Papi, none of those guys...Little Dusty brings the trophy home to Boston. I will admit I thought he overachieved his rookie year, but boy did he prove me wrong. Congratulations Dusty, look forward to watching you for years to come.
