Dolphins Sign Al Harris

Earlier this week the Packers made the surprise move of cutting Al Harris. He tore up his knee pretty bad last year (he tore the anterior cruciate ligament, the lateral collateral ligament, the IT band, the fibular collateral ligament and the lateral hamstring), and the Packers felt he was no longer a valuable asset. So, he finally cleared waivers and the Dolphins stepped in and signed the free agent.

It is unclear how much Al Harris will be able to play, and I am not completely sold that he will pass the physical to be able to join the team. Back in the day he was one of the better cover corners in the NFL, so I guess it is always worth a shot even if he can only play limited snaps.

Packers Lose 2 Key Players For Season

"The news is bad this morning in Green Bay, as it is believed that both Aaron Kampman and Al Harris will miss the rest of the season with left knee injuries, both believed to be torn ACLs according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. During Sunday's game -- a likely clue as to what the team will do moving forward -- Tramon Williams replaced Harris while Brad Jones and Brady Poppinga split time in Kampman's spot (ESPN)."

Terrible news for the Packers. Those 2 are such keys to their defense, and since the defense has already been struggling this season this could be a devastating blow. The Packers are going to have to rely even more on Rodgers and the offense, and I just don't know if they can do it with such a terrible offensive line.

Packers Might Have Lost CB Harris For The Season

The Packers are coming off a tough loss to the Cowboys, but that is not the only bad news the Packers' faithful have gotten, because today it is being reporting that AL Harris may have ruptured his spleen. If that is the case he will most likely miss the rest of the season. A lot of what the Packers like to do is circled around the fact they have two shutdown cornerbacks. If Harris is done for the season, Tramon Williams will take over the starting role across the field from Woodson, and Will Blackmon would have to go into the nickle slot. Really just a tough loss for a Packers team that really looked like it could do some damage in the NFC.
