93 Boston, 91 San Antonio

Yesterdays game all but proved we have something special here. The Celtics were down 22 points in the first half then came roaring back with shut'em down defense and timely scoring. We are now 2-0 against the Champion Spurs and Boston now owns the NBA again.

The first game we beat the Spurs without KG and Big Baby had a great game, last night we beat the Spurs without Ray Allen and Cassell and Rondo both had great games. Rondo had 20 points, a huge offensive rebound and clutch free throw to seal the game while Cassell kept the Celtics in striking distance including a huge go ahead 3 at the end of the game, and finished with 17 points. The only scare this team gave me was when they were up by 2, KG threw a bad inbound pass and it was stolen by Big Shot Bob aka Robert Horry and he launched a game winning 3 with time running out, luckily it safely bounced of the side of the rim and we won the game, but I almost had a stroke when that happened. This game shows how hungry the Celtics are, most teams would have crumbled being 22 down, but this team persevered, this team is ready to be raised into the rafters. Tonight, we play the Houston Rockets who are on a 22 game winning streak and I believe the Celtics will silence the NBA again in dominating fashion.

Celtics 98 Spurs 90

For anyone that didn't watch this game, the Celtics absolutely proved the doubters wrong. Not only did the Celtics beat the defending champion Spur's 98-90, they did it without Kevin Garnett. I had an earlier post doubting the Celtics playing against Tim Duncan without KG and Perk, boy was I wrong. We got 33 strong minutes from rookie Glen Davis including his hustle plays and offensive boards. While my boy Rondo finished with only 5 points but had a career high 12 assists and 10 rebounds while playing excellent D the whole game. Now for all the people who dismiss the Celtics of being a top team in the NBA...... Shove it. We are 16-0 against the dreaded west conference. Pierce finished with 35 points and Ray Ray with 19 points, including a huge offensive rebound at the end. All in all, this is a great team and far better than anyone could have ever expected.

Uhh Ohh...

The Early game between the Celtics and Spurs may not be that fun to watch. I heard through the grapevine that Kendrick Perkins is out with a shoulder injury. That means that KG, and Perk are out this game. It's not like Perk is a huge game changer like Garnett, but he is a big defender and low post presence on offence at least. That means Hard Work Leon Powe, Big Baby Glen Davis, Brian Scalabrine, and James Posey are going to have to take on Tim Duncan. I am not saying that it is impossible, but it will be tough.
