There Will Be No 'Hard Knocks' This Year

HBO said Friday the uncertainty of the lockout "made it impractical for a team to commit" to the popular training camp reality show. The series is set to return next year. It is really not surprising at all, but still very dissapointing. It is really the only thing that makes NFL camps interesting to the fans. I know we will all want to see who wins what job and what not, but to go inside the actual camp and see what these guys go through is amazing. Plus you get such gems at "now let's go get a snack", "kiss the baby", "child please", and so on.

We will miss you and hopefully it will be back next year (I think it will).

Who would you have wanted to see this year if the were able to do it?

To be me there would've been 2 very interesting teams... the Patriots and the Steelers. Not because those are DP and my teams, but there is just so much going on around them. Ochocinco/Haynesworth on the Patriots, the whole Harrison thing with the Steelers. Both of those would've been amazing.

So, who would want to have?

NHL Finally Does Something Smart

"The rival Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins will be featured in a reality show as part of their showdown in the Winter Classic. HBO will air four hour-long episodes in its "24/7" franchise before and after the Jan. 1 game at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.

The NHL and the network announced Thursday that the series will premiere Dec. 15 and air on each of the next three Wednesdays. The Penguins' Sidney Crosby and Washington's Alex Ovechkin will face each other in the fourth installment of the Winter Classic at the outdoor home of the Steelers (ESPN)."

HBO does an awesome job with this kind of stuff. Their 24/7 stuff on boxing is usually better then the actually fight, and even knows how good "Hard Knocks" is, so it is about time the NHL jumped of this bandwagon. Crosby vs. Ovechkin is the best thing the NHL has going for itself, and for once the NHL is going to take advantage and market the hell out of it.

I also think every sport should have a "Hard Knocks" type of thing going into the season.

Jets Next On Hard Knocks

The New York Jets are the next up on HBO's Hard Knocks. It is a good choice. Rex Ryan should be entertaining, and then on top of that you have the star value of LT, Sanchez, Revis, ect. I really do love that show, and I'm looking forward to this season.

Saying that...I have to question 1 thing. Did LT know that the Jets were going to be on HBO before he signed with them. Not that it is a big deal either way, but he do know he is an ego maniac, so I wouldn't put it past him. I mean it seemed dead even between the Vikings and the Jets, and then he quickly signed. It could've been that he might have a chance to start, but I like my theory better.

Anyways, it will be interesting to see if this impacts the Jets season. The Bengals were the first team to be on Hard Knocks that actually improved on their record from the previous season.

2001 Ravens 12-4/10-6
2002 Cowboys 5-11/5-11
2007 Chiefs 9-7/4-12
2008 Cowboys 13-3/9-7
2009 Bengals 4-11-1/10-6

Christians Go After "Curb Your Enthusiasm"

"Comedian Larry David is under attack from critics who say he pushed the mocking of religion and Christian belief in miracles over the edge in the latest episode of his HBO series "Curb Your Enthusiasm." On the show's most recent installment, which aired Sunday night, David's character urinates on a painting of Jesus Christ, causing a woman to believe the painting shows Jesus crying. Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, responded to the episode, saying David should "quit while he's ahead," and that the show is proof that the comedian's best years are behind him.

"Was Larry David always this crude? Would he think it's comedic if someone urinated on a picture of his mother?" Donohue said in a statement. "This might be fun to watch, but since HBO only likes to dump on Catholics (it was just a couple of weeks ago that Sarah Silverman insulted Catholics on 'Real Time with Bill Maher') and David is Jewish, we'll never know."

During Sunday's episode, David, who created, wrote and produced "Seinfeld," visits a bathroom in his assistant's home and splatters urine on a picture of Jesus. Instead of wiping it off, David leaves the restroom. Minutes later, David's assistant enters the bathroom and concludes that Jesus is crying. She then summons her mother to the bathroom, where both women kneel in prayer.

"When David and Jerry Seinfeld (playing himself) are asked if they ever experienced a miracle, David answers, 'every erection is a miracle,' Donohue's statement continued. "That's what passes for creativity these days (FoxNews)."

Trying not to go off about this is nearly impossible. DP and I watched this episode the other night, and I saw nothing wrong with it. First off, he didn't directly take picture of Jesus and piss on it. The whole episode is making fun of the fact that he (Larry David) is on medication and now pisses like a horse. There is some splash back, and one drop gets on a picture of Jesus. It was funny because there are people out there that are this crazy and think that the picture of Jesus is actually crying. Honestly, religion really needs to grow a sense of humor. I mean look at some of that stuff that is believed by Jews and Catholics. Just as an example....what about the creation story? If the Adam and Eve story were true that would mean we would all be retarded. Think about it. If two people started the entire population then there would be so much inbreeding we would all be retarded. So there...that's funny. Grow up religion.

Anyways I am Catholic and I found nothing wrong with it at all, and think the show is still hilarious. Kind of like how I find this funny...

You've got to have a sense of humor people...
