Red Sox Get Another New Hat

I guess the Sox are going to wear this hat during batting practice. This is starting to get a little out of hand. Every year there is a new jersey and/or hat, but I guess as long as the Sox keep making money and spending it on top free agent (ex. Lackey) then I'm cool with it...

But yea, that hat sucks.

Bruins Making New Jersey For Winter Classic

The Bruins, deep in discussions about the sweater they’ll wear for the Winter Classic, are hoping to create a jersey that can catch a piece of the magic the Penguins created two years ago. For the 2008 outdoor game at Buffalo’s Ralph Wilson Stadium, the Penguins went retro, pulling their 1968-69 jersey design out of mothballs. Today, the powder blue sweater - the Penguins switched to black and gold in 1979-80, following in the footsteps of the Steelers and Pirates - remains one of the league’s top-selling items.

“That worked,’’ said Bruins principal Charlie Jacobs, “because they’re not necessarily their team colors. There’s no black or gold. It’s a powder blue jersey, and that made it unique. It’s certainly recognized in their market. It’s not like the Pirates, Steelers, or anything else. It’s unique (Boston.com).’’

This is really making me nervous. The Bruins better not go away from the black and gold. To be honest, I think their 3rd team jerseys they wear now are their best ones and they should just stick with that. The Penguins powder blue jersey's were awesome, but the Bruins have to stick with their guns here, unless maybe they go just straight black or something. Anyways, it's just another way to make more money...

Patriots To Wear Throwback Jerseys For Season Opener

"The Patriots will be wearing replicas of their 1963 uniforms -- and the helmets with old Pat Patriot -- when they open the season on Sept. 14 against the Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium (Boston.com)."

I always thought those jerseys were awesome, and I miss Pat the Patriot. Anyways, this is obviously, because that game will be a celebration of Monday Night Football's 40 years on the air. The Bills will also be wearing their throwbacks.

New Red Sox Uniforms?

"Thursday, the Red Sox have plans to unveil "changes to the ballclub’s logos" and "select uniforms." Manny Delcarmen, Jim Rice, Jerry Remy and other club officials will be on hand for the announcement/unveiling. It’s likely the team will reveal a new "alternate uniform," to either replace or supplement the red tops the team often wears for Sunday home games. There’s no word yet on what the new logo will look like, or whether it will replace the existing one, which dates back decades (Boston Herald)."

I am interested to see what they would look like, since I never liked the red tops anyways. The Sox always seemed to lose when they wore those. Anyways, rumor has it that they will be a kick back to the 1908 jerseys, but updated to fit today's "style". I actually am a fan of old school baseball uniforms, with the baggy pants, and laces on the top of the jersey. The hat on the top is rumored to be worn during Sunday games. I will let you know more as I hear it.

Here is the pic of the 1908 jersey (note: this is not the jersey they will where, just the model they are possibly going by).

Bruins To Unveil New Jersey Monday

The Bruins will unveil their new 3rd jersey tonight. We had shown you to this about a month ago, but Monday will be the first time that the Bruins will wear them during a game. i am glad they got rid of the stupid Poo-Bear jersey (as seen below) that they wore for so long. I am not over impressed with the new jersey, but it is kind of retro, and I like that a lot more then a lot of the stupid jerseys that are in the NHL now.
