Brewers Get K Rod

"Brewers had acquired Francisco Rodriguez and cash considerations from the New York Mets in exchange for two players to be named later. By rule, the two players must be agreed upon within six months of the transaction." ESPN

Hey, you got to give it to the Mets for getting something for K Rod. K Rod hasn't been bad for the Mets by any means, he has a 3.16 era and 23 saves, but he gets paid too much and has a player option for 17 million next year. Also, he has been quite a headache and I don't trust him to keep being dominant with his velocity going down every year.

He is most likely going to close for the Brewers, even though they have John Axford, who has a 2.83 ERA while converting 23 of 25 save opportunities. But the Brewers as a team have blown 14 saves this year.

K Rod Is An Asshole

New York Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez suffered a torn ligament in his right thumb while allegedly striking the grandfather of his children last week at Citi Field, a team official said, and he is done for the season. ESPN

If I were the Mets I would do everything in my power to void his contract immediately. Despite what his stats show he blows, he loses velocity every year, he was on a save happy team in Anaheim based on the shittyness of their division, and most importantly he's an asshole. He put the Mets season in more jeopardy (giggle) with this bone head move. K Rod hasn't been a model citizen since coming to NY and I don't think he will learn either purely based on his bad temper. The best thing for the Mets to do this offseason would to get rid of Omar Minaya, Jerry Manuel, Carlos Beltran, Jason Bay, Johan Santana, K Rod and Jose Reyes. It doesn't work, for the exception of Johan all these players have been overwhelming busts and they make me want to vomit. I used to think this was funny when the Mets would blow division leads in August, but now its almost sad. It's like watching the Knicks with Isiah.

LeBron Causing K Rod To Beat Up His Family Members?

Francisco Rodriguez was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, after an altercation with his father-in-law at Citi Field.

Rodriguez was arrested and being held at the ballpark early Thursday, police said. His father-in-law was in a hospital with a scrape on his face and a bump on his head. ESPN

I didn't realize it but this is the third altercation K Rod has got in since joining the Mets. I don't know what stemmed this fight, but obviously K Rod needs to handle the situation. The Mets have been falling out of playoff contention again, so this is maybe why K Rod's frustration boiled over or it could be that LeBron hosted "The Decision". The Mets have had zero good news in about 4 years and this certainly will be part of the laundry list that will get Omar Minaya and Jerry Manuel fired this offseason. But knowing the Mets they will probably hire Isiah Thomas to run the team.
