Mark Teahen To White Sox

"According to various reports, the Royals have agreed to trade outfielder/third baseman Mark Teahen to the White Sox for second baseman Chris Getz and third baseman Josh D. Fields (Sportsline)."

I like this deal for both teams. Fields was supposed to be the next great thing, but he didn't do shit last year, maybe a change of scenery will help them out. For the White Sox they get rid of two guys they really don't need, and I think Teahen can be a 25-30 HR guy in the White Sox ballpark. I know it might be a little bit of a bold statement, but this guy could be a fantasy sleeper next season (especially in AL only leagues).

Teahen Knows He'll Be Traded

Partly because Alex Gordon is nearing a return to the Royals lineup, and partly because he's seen his name floated around in trade rumors almost as much as Roy Halladay, Mark Teahen figures change is coming.

"Obviously, I've enjoyed playing third and playing there every day, but it's no mystery as to who is viewed as the future here at third base," Teahen told the KC Star. "I've just got to continue to do my job wherever I am, and let them figure out where that is going to be (ESPN)."

There have been a ton of teams linked to Teahen, but one that keeps coming up is the Red Sox. He would be an interesting signing since he can play a bunch of positions and is having a very solid year (.294 9 HR 29 RBIs). Still, I see the Sox going after him hard only if Lowell is not going to be able to stay on the field. With Gordon coming back it is just a matter of time before the Royals move him, so look for more rumors about this kid coming up to the trade deadline.
