Steven Jackson Won't Face Criminal Charges

St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson won't face criminal charges over allegations that he beat a girlfriend who was 9 months pregnant with the couple's child, because of lack of evidence. Apparently this happened a year ago, but Jackson's girlfriend didn't press charges until recently, so there isn't much the cops can do. Listen, it's her fault for not coming forward immediately, but that still doesn't excuse the fact that Jackson (who is no small man) was throwing his 9 month pregnant girlfriend around his apartment. Maybe she was just making it all up, but she did go to the hospital for cuts on her face from being pushed into a doorknob. Sorry, that is just fucked up, and I hope that there is at least enough evidence that the NFL can step in and at least suspend him a couple games, but I know there isn't so that is just wishful thinking.

Well, good for you Jackson, you got away with it. I hope you tear you ACL.

Steven Jackson Punches Pregnant Women

Just another classy guy from the NFL. Steven Jackson has been accused of beating his pregnant wife, oh and to make it even better she is 9 months pregnant....Nice job buddy.

What a fucking prick. Anyways, the kid was born and seems to be fine, but you know the NFL is going to have to come down hard on this. It is totally unacceptable to ever hit a women, then you add on that she is 9 months pregnant and you just have to think Jackson has no conscience whatsoever.

Stephen Jackson Traded To Bobcats

"Disgruntled Golden State Warriors forward Stephen Jackson is about to make a fresh start with a new team. The Warriors completed a deal Monday that sends Jackson and guard Acie Law to the Bobcats in exchange for veteran swingmen Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic. The trade will be announced Monday (ESPN)."

Stephen Jackson is a shithead, but I am still really happy the Cavs didn't land him. He can still score, and the Cavs have enough talent as it is. Jackson is a guy who can average about 20 points per game 5 boards and 5-6 assists. If he could ever just stop being such a thug he might really help the Bobcats. With this trade the Bobcats actually have a solid starting 5...

PG - Raymond Felton
SG - Steven Jackson (even though listed as SF)
SF - Gerald Wallace
PF - Boris Diaw
C - Tyson Chandler

Not to mention guys like D.J. Augustin, and Acie Law on the bench.

Steven Jackson To Patriots?

"Tom Brady and the Patriots' offense could get a boost in the backfield before the NFL trade deadline comes and goes Tuesday afternoon. Because of injuries to Fred Taylor (ankle) and Sammy Morris (knee), New England may be in the market to plug some holes in its depleted backfield, and they could have an interest in St. Louis running back Steven Jackson, the Sporting News' Mike Florio reports. The Patriots and Rams might be compatible trade partners due to St. Louis' need to remold its future with high draft picks and New England's abundance of high picks in the upcoming drafts. As of Monday, the Patriots have one first-round pick and three second-rounders in 2010 and two first-round picks and one second-rounder in 2011 (NESN)."

Wow, I would never expect this, but I guess it makes sense. The Patriots have been making move to clear cap room (cutting Galloway/Tully), and they have a stock pile of draft picks. The Rams are not going anywhere for a while, so it would make sense that the Rams would try to steal some draft picks. Jackson gets injured a lot, but you put him on a team that has a passing game he could be a 1,500 yard back again. Once again, not sure how true this is, but it is something to keep an eye on...

NFL Injury Updates

Sammy Morris - Will not play today with a knee injury.

LaMont Jordan - Will not play with an ankle injury, that leaves the Pats with Kevin Faulk, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, and Heath Evan in the backfield.

Steven Jackson - Will not play today, because of a thigh injury. Antonio Pittman will start in his place.

Tony Romo - Is still out with a broken finger, Johnson will get another start. Hopefully he never plays again.

Clinton Portis - Will play today. He is always banged up, but might be the best RB in the NFL so far.

Brian Westbrook - The bye week helped, and his ribs seems like they have healed up. The Eagles certainly need him.

Anquan Boldin - Will play today, but he will only play 30-35 plays. After that hit it's good to see him back on the field.

That's all I got for now.

Jackson Against Bulger Benching

The Rams are already a mess, and now it seems that their locker room is getting torn to shreds. Steven Jackson (one of the only players that are good) came out today and slammed the decision to bench QB Marc Bulger.

"You just rewarded this man with a new contract last year, millions of dollars, and you bench him. Then if things do not work out with Trent, you go back. I don't like it at all," Jackson told St. Louis radio station KLOU on Thursday night. "I think there's a lot more people that could take the blame for this. I don't think it's fair that one person takes the blame."

You know what? Jackson is right. I rearly back players that speak out against a team, but this was a poor decision. It is the Bulger's fault that this teams sucks. He has no offensive line. His WRs won't take a hit, and even Torry Holt is not what he once was. On top of all of that they have one of the worst defenses I have ever seen. I will be really surprised if they team wins more then 2 games this year, and if I was Bulger I would demand a trade (I think Minnesota might be interested).

Steven Jackson About To End Holdout

Jackson, who has been holding out all of camp, is finally close to signing a new contract with the Rams. This is good news for the Rams, but even better news for anyone who was looking to draft Jackson in a fantasy league. He can be a work hourse, and the Rams are really going to need him if they are going to rebound from a terrible 2007 season. Steven Jackson said he should be with the team by tonight. So cheer up fantasy owners who drafted Jackson, he should be fine.

Steven Jackson Still Holding Out

Steven Jackson is till not at Rams camp, and now will miss their first preseason game. The Rams really need this guy if they want to their team turnaround after a very disappointing 2007 season. Jackson is by far St. Louis' best players, and usually when a guy holds out like this it doesn't turn out good for anyone. I expect him to be back by the start of the season, but watch for pulled hamstrings, or groin injuries, which are common in running backs who don't go to training camp.
