A lot of guys arriving, so here is where they stand...
- Tim Wakefield says he feels good, but he thinks he wore himself down last season (6.65 ERA in September). You will most likely see the Wake go on the DL during the middle of the season, so that he is healthier for the stretch run. He also said he has no plans on retiring anytime soon.
- Clay Buchholz showed up and from all reports looks "nasty". There is a lot less pressure on Clay this year, since the expectations have been significantly lowered after a very rough 2008 season. Portland pitching coach Mike Cather says that Clay's delivery flaw has been taken care of.
- There have been a lot of reports about Francona being thrilled with how Ortiz is progressing. That's funny to me since he hasn't seen him since Christmas. Basically Francona is trying to get the media to calm down, and we really won't know anything till he starts taking batting practice in spring training.
