Correct College Football Picks

I went 2-1 with my picks last week (fuckin Mormons). There aren't many big games this Saturday. I hope some of you got to enjoy the Clemson/Georgia Tech game last night (lots of turnovers, a blocked field goal, a near comeback), because most of this weekend will be lame.

All times are Eastern.

12:00 PM - ESPNU:
#19 North Carolina Tar Heels @ Connecticut Huskies
This would be a tantalizing basketball game. But it's not that bad of a football matchup. If this game were in Chapel Hill, then the Heels would stomp the Huskies. UNC is riding high off a 40-6 crushing of the Citadel, but it's a long trip to Storrs. UConn isn't as nearly as good as they were last year, but they'll pull this one out.

Prediction:
UConn 24, North Carolina 20



12:00 PM:
Duke Blue Devils @ Army Black Knights
Nobody cares, but it's always fun when Army wins, and they'll win this one. The Blue Devils are coming off a 24-16 defeat to I-AA Richmond. Now they have to go to West Point and lose to Army. The Black Knights get to play Temple, VMI, and North Texas this year so they might sneak into bowl eligibility.

Prediction:
Army 13, Duke 6



3:30 PM - ABC:
#18 Notre Dame Fighting Irish @ Michigan Wolverines
I don't see the big deal about this game. Then again, there's only 1 quality matchup this weekend, and these teams both have legions of douchebag fans. Unlike some writers, I actually think Notre Dame is good. And like other writers, I think Michigan sucks ass.

Prediction:
Notre Dame 28, Michigan 10



8:00 PM - ESPN:
#3 Southern California Trojans @ #6 Ohio State Buckeyes
Give credit to these teams for playing each other. Then again, neither one of them have a Texas or Florida calibre team in their own conferences to deal with. I'm not sold on Matt Barkley. He showed shaky nerves at home against San Jose State. What will he be like in Ohio Stadium? But USC is loaded everywhere else.

Prediction:
USC 35, Ohio State 24
