Glen Davis Free Agency Update

"Celtics restricted free-agent forward Glen Davis will probably have to continue to be patient before he learns where he will be playing next season. According to an NBA source this morning, Davis is receiving interest from Boston, San Antonio, Detroit and New Orleans. San Antonio and Detroit are pursuing Detroit free-agent forward Antonio McDyess. The team left without McDyess could immediately turn its attention to Davis. While the Hornets are very interested, financial concerns limit them to only a possible sign-and-trade deal for Davis. With Davis's restricted free-agent status in mind, the Celtics are patiently watching the situation knowing they can match any offer sheet (Boston.com)."

It seems like the market for Big Baby could be directly tied to Antonio McDyess. McDyess seems to be on top of a lot of teams wish list, so I expect after he signs somewhere (my guess is the Spurs) that teams will be much more interested in Davis. If the Celtics sign Grant Hill, then Big Baby will most likely be wearing a different jersey next year.

McDyess Back With Pistons

"Antonio McDyess has re-signed with the Detroit Pistons a month after being dealt to Denver as part of the Allen Iverson trade.
The Pistons announced Tuesday that McDyess was back for the rest of the season, but did not disclose financial terms of the deal. " ESPN

I know that I got a little excited when I thought McDyess may come to the Celtics, however, I think it would be more beneficial for this team if they didn't change a thing. McDyess possibly could be a help to the C's, but I am glad he is taking time away from Amir Johnson and Jason Maxiell.

Allen Iverson heading to Pistons?

Rumors are circulating about a possible trade between the Pistons and the Nuggets. Stephen A. Smith reports that the Nuggets are looking to get Antonio McDyess and Chauncey Billups for Allen Iverson.

Yea? Why not? The only thing this means to me is that the Celtics will now play Allen Iverson, probably in the playoffs. I've always wanted to like Chauncey, and now that he's not a Boston rival, I'll have that opportunity. Keep an eye on this trade as it is not finalized yet.

***Trade Happened***

The Nuggets and Pistons have agreed in principle on a trade that will send Allen Iverson to Detroit and Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess and Cheikh Samb to Denver, sources have told ESPN.

DP Starts here:
I love this move. Detroit's offense was sometimes docile and unable to score if their lives depended on it and their teams window has been all but shut. However, with this Iverson move it makes them a scary team offensively and defensively. Chauncey Billups is no longer Mr. Big Shot and isn't the perennial point guard he once was. Allen Iverson keeps the defensive intensity with his on-the-ball defense and becomes Detroit's score at will player. I like it.

As for the Nuggets:
They already got rid of Camby and they needed to get rid of Iverson if they wanted to be a serious contender. With a team that had Iverson, Melo, JR Smith, Kenyon Martin scoring wasn't a problem. Now that they move Iverson and get a true point guard I expect the Nuggets to be more solid on both ends of the floor as well as in the locker room.
