Every Big Baby Comment Makes Me Like Him Less

So, a week or two ago we got comments from Big Baby that he was looking for a bigger role, and that most likely was going to lead him out of Boston. We all laughed considering that he was one of the main reasons the Celtics tanked out of the playoffs. Now he is coming back sounding a little different.

"Man, I do," Davis tells the Boston Herald. "Do you know how much I've grown and learned with those guys? I want to keep playing with Ray Allen and Paul Pierce until they leave."

Davis has also hired a sports psychologist to help him understand what went wrong this past season.

"I was in that zone, and then it started to go downwards," Davis said."I want to use that positive energy I have as a player. I want to be the Glen Davis I know I can be."

Dude, you started to suck because you gained 20 pounds to a frame that was already overweight. Doc got pissed, and then you just laid down in the playoffs. Your mentally soft, and you talk in the third person, I am so done with you. Bye Glen Davis go to the Raptors and lets never hear of you again.

OK... Now I Definitely Don't Want Baby To Come Back

In a recent interview Glen Davis has now said he wants a bigger role on the team.

What the fuck makes him think he deserves a bigger role? He quit on the team with his play and weight gain. He has shown a ton of immaturity and now he wants to be a bigger part of the offense. You know what fuck off, if anything your time should be cut until you prove yourself. however, I think it won't be a big deal because there is no way Doc or Danny bring him back. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I'm Pretty Much Done With Big Baby

Here are some comments from Glen recently:
On what's most important to him this offseason: "I feel I know what’s most important to me and that's Glen being Glen. I can’t perform the way I need to perform if I’m not Glen Davis. I need to be in situation where I’m going to be Glen Davis. If it’s here with the Celtics or with somebody else. I just want to make sure I’m Glen Davis, whatever I do, wherever I'm at. That’s all I’m really concentrating on, being Glen Davis, and being a complete player."

* On whether Glen Davis can be Glen Davis in Boston: [Long pause] I can be Glen Davis wherever. It depends on the system, the people around the system, who is going to let Glen Davis be Glen Davis, not let Glen Davis be something they think he should be."

"I pride myself on playing good basketball, especially when you need it. Every postseason I’ve played tremendously good to the point where it was like wow and this [spring] it didn’t happen," Davis said. "Because I felt mentally I wasn’t ready and prepared enough for what was in front of me. It affected the way I played and that’s what I’ve been doing this offseason, concentrating on that and making sure postseason’s like this don’t happen to me."

The only person allowed to speak in 3rd person is Deion Sanders other than that, everyone can go to hell. However, these comments really turn me off from Glen Davis and pretty much killed any want of having the Celtics keep him around. He is one of the most immature, outspoken and just dumb people I have ever seen. The Celtics were worried before they gave him his last contract whether he was mature enough to have the money and that blew up in their face. i think that was a mistake that won't happen again. Since joining the Celtics Glen has been outspoken to a fault, broke his hand getting into a fight, gained 20 pounds before the playoffs and had a miserable playoffs. Glen Davis being Glen Davis is exactly whats wrong with his game sometimes, sure he brings energy and can be a spark off the bench, but sometime he, himself gets in his own way from elevating his game. Doc Rivers is a hell of a coach, KG is a hell of a mentor, Tommy Thibs was a hell of a defensive mind and he shrugged them all off because Glen Davis was to busy worrying about Glen Davis. I never speak badly of any Celtics player really, but I hope they really don't bring him back, attitudes like this aren't welcome in the Garden.

Have You Seen Glen Davis?

Following the Celtics' Game 4 loss to the Heat, Davis sounded like a six-year-old whose balloon had got caught in the wind and was watching it fly far, far away.

"I've been nowhere to be found," he said. "Throughout this whole playoffs, I need to find myself."

"I have to find Glen and I don't know where Glen is at (Masslive.com)."

Ugh not only is he playing like shit, now he is talking in the third person. That's just annoying. There are a bunch of theories on Baby's struggles. Some people say that he lost his role once Perk was traded, and now he having to come in and play center and stuff. I don't buy that. He basically had a similar role last year and excelled.

Some people say he is just is too focused on his jump shot and not banging underneath. I buy that to a certain extent. Big Baby was at his best for the Celtics when he was an energy guy off the bench that really went hard after boards, and wasn't focused on being the 2nd unit KG. Still, I feel like at times he tries to, but just can't anymore, which leads me to the last theory.

This theory comes from Jackie MacMullan and Tommy Heinsohn who say Big Baby is 15-20 pound heavier then he was a the start of the season. This is shocking, because how the hell do you get fat during the season? But it makes sense. He doesn't seem to have any lift anymore. He seems a step slower, which is hurting him not only on the boards, and on offense, but on defense as well. If this is the case, shame on him. This was a big year for him, and for him to just get fat is just terrible. DP was saying it the other night. He cost himself a lot of money, and he might have played himself right into being a Celtics bench player the rest of his career.

Whatever it is the Celtics really can't have him playing as much as he is anymore. He hasn't been right in a while now, and he is not just a nonfactor, but a negative on the court. It'll be interesting to see what Doc does with him in Game 5, because from the sound of those quotes he doesn't sound like he is going to suddenly going to turn it around.

Big Baby To Miss A Week

Chris Forsberg says baby will miss 3 to 7 days with a knee injury.

We can all give a collective exhale as we have had some bad luck with injuries off of free dunks ala KG and Tony Allen. I mean thank god we signed Troy Murphy, even though he's fat and out of shape because we need another big with the injuries. But I'm also glad this is kind of happening because it puts more pressure on Jeff Green to show us something. We saw a glimpse of what he can do in the beginning of the Suns game but disappeared in the 2nd half. BMack and I were talking and we really want him to give us a 15-20 point game, so it'll completely justify the Perk deal.

There is good news on the horizon as we expect Shaq, Delonte and Baby back by the end of next week. I can't wait to see this team with everyone healthy.

Doc Rivers And Big Baby Not Getting Along Again

This story is starting to get old, but Big Baby is once again shooting off his mouth and Doc Rivers has had just about enough.

Here is what Big Baby originally said...

“It’s difficult because as a player you kind of don’t understand where they’re going or what they’re doing,” Big Baby told reporters at Monday’s media day at the practice facility in Waltham. “No matter what I do - I can play great - it’s still not enough.”

Here is Doc Rivers' response...

“I’m not even worried about Glen Davis,” coach Doc Rivers said yesterday after the Celts had completed their first training camp practice at Salve Regina University. “I think he’s living up to his (nickname) again. Somebody just told me, and I’m not that concerned. If Baby doesn’t know his role by now, he’s going to be sitting down a lot. I just leave it simple. I just move on."

I totally back Rivers on this. Yes, I am sure it is annoying to Big Baby that behind all these veterans, but I feel he only has himself to blame. It's great he shows up in the playoffs, but he has been far from impressive during the regular season. On top of that he does stupid things like make comments like this or get in a fight with his friend and break his hand causing him to miss the beginning of last season. At the end of the day I doubt anything will come of this, but don't be surprised if Doc sends a message early in the season and benches him more then usual. Bottom line is Big Baby needs to grow up.

LeFag's Night In Vegas

There is a lot of noise being made because LeFag had some big party in Vegas. There were girls wearing basically nothing, booze, ect. I really don't care. He's 25, single, and a millionare...so good for him. If you really want to read all about it CLICK HERE.

There are 2 parts of this story that interest me. The first is that ESPN was the first to report this story, but then within an hour took it down. Maybe they didn't have the right quotes, but to me this is just another sign that LeFag owns ESPN. Why does he get all this special treatment? Like the time he was dunked on and the video was taken away from everyone. Like I said I don't think he did anything wrong here, but the fact that he is able to control the media like this really bothers me.

Celtics 96 Lakers 89

The series is now tied, and the Celtic owe Big Baby and Nate the Great a beer. Overall this was an ugly game, but that fits the Celtics style a lot more then it fits the Lakers. Boston's defense was outstanding letting only 2 players (Kobe, Poopface) to score more then 10 points.

Still, the Celtics were down, and their bench had to come up big, and man did they ever. Big Baby scored half of his 18 points in the 4th quarter, and Robinson added 12 of his own. The Celtics bench was so good that Rivers was able to keep the starters on the bench till about 3 mins left in the game. If you have been watching all these games then you know that could be huge. The Celtics starters have looked tired and flat at times. Now they got to play some lighter minutes, and get 2 days off in Boston.

Boston's starters were back in the game when Bryant scored 10 of the Lakers' last 12 points, hitting all three free throws to make it 92-86 after he was fouled attempting a 3-pointer with 1:08 left. But then Rondo stole a pass from Bryant and took it the length of the court for a layup that made it an eight-point lead with 32 seconds left, and that was that.

Boston still has work to do, because in my eyes if they want to win this series they are going to have to win game 5. Winning 2 in LA would be asking a lot.

Latest On Big Baby

After receiving an elbow to the mouth by Dwight Howard, Glen Davis suffered a concussion and had to leave Game 4 in the third quarter. He spoke briefly with reporters after the game and said he'll play in Game 5 on Friday.

"Point blank, I ain't speaking. I'm all right. I'll be back next game," Davis told the Boston Herald. "That's all you need to print."

Shelden Williams will be moved up into the rotation if Davis can't play in Game 5.

I really don't know what to believe at this point. I mean if he had a concussion I would think he would be out at least for next game, but Davis seems confident that he'll be out there. The Celtics really need him to play. Perkins could be suspended, Wallace is having back spasms, and sorry but I really don't want to see Shelden Williams covering Dwight Howard. But at least Doc Rivers still has a sense of humor about all this...

"I don't know what kind of test they're going to do with Davis because he's a little delirious half the time anyway, so I don't know how he's going to pass a test," head coach Doc Rivers said with a laugh. "I'm worried about that. But I guess he's going to have to do something for them to clear him."

I really don't think Doc likes Big Baby at all.

Celtics Trade Rumors

The Celtics are shopping Glen Davis and they apparently found a taker in Charlotte for D.J. Augustin. I loved this deal at first, however, I don't know how I feel about the deal since the Celtics would have to give up someone else too in order to get Augustine. Baby's deal is a base pay contract so his money is essentially half. I would assume that Shelden would be involved in the deal, so we would be extremely weak at the 4 spot. Rarely do teams trade bigs for smalls, and that's for a good reason, because big men are more valuable. Augustin showed flash last year for the Bobcats, and was a lottery pick so I guess he has more potential than Glen, however Glen has been playing well lately. When it comes to the Celtics, I think we should ride the wave out and deal with our 32 million coming off the books at the end of the season.

Everyday I Lose A Little More Respect For Big Baby

I have been a Big Baby supporter since his LSU days, but this year he is just really rubbing everyone the wrong way. It started with the fist fight with his friend that resulted in a broken hand. When he finally made his way back from that he decided it would be a great idea to yell "suck my dick" at a fan, because the fan called him fat. This made Doc finally come out and say that he needed to grow up.

So how does Big Baby decide to show that he is all grown up? By changing his nickname of course...

Writing this makes me want to throw up, but "Big Baby" would like to change his name to "Uno Uno", because he wear #11...get it?

First off, that is the worst name I have ever heard. Sure when Ochocinco did it is was kind of funny because he actually changed his name to that, and it was original. This is not, this is just Big Baby being a stupid little kid. You know what would be a good idea? Shutting the fuck up and start playing like you did in the playoffs this year. He has not been nearly as effective on the boards as he was in the playoffs last year. He looks a little slow, and Doc is obviously not happy with him. So, "Big Baby" keep your name, because it fits your stupid fucking mouth...

Big Baby Bitch

I've never liked Glen Davis. Just because he's chubby, doesn't mean he's likable. I've never thought he's too good of a player. And more recently, he's been a total pest on this team.

Remember when he almost burst into tears courtside when KG was yelling at him? Then there was the fight he got into with his "friend" that kept him sidelined until Christmas. And now this.

A Detroit fan heckled Davis all night, calling him "fat boy." Davis responded with obscenity. "Suck my dick" to be exact.

What worries me is that Davis allows a fan to get into his head. 99.99999% of athletes don't directly respond to fans taunting. Most zone it out, others absorb it, and almost all of them deal with it, without it affecting any of their actions.

Doc Rivers said:
"It's common sense, when a fan is yelling and it's offending the people around him, then the guy will be removed. If a player points or coach points to security, there's a very good chance that person will be removed."

Well I work security at Gillette Stadium, and I've never removed any fan from the premises for saying "fatboy." It's an elementary school insult, which Davis couldn't handle.

And he is fat!!! He's tubby, chubby, rotund, round, jolly, plump, overweight.

I really hate Glen Davis. Doc says he needs to grow up. I think he simply needs to go.

Glen Davis Injury Not Serious?

"Celtics vice president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said Tuesday afternoon that he doesn't believe the sprained right ankle suffered by Glen "Big Baby" Davis is as serious as first feared. Davis got mixed up with Golden State's Rony Turiaf with 9:52 left in the game when Turiaf landed on his ankle.

Davis left Oracle in arena wearing a protective boot and walking with crutches.

"I haven't heard anything, which means nothing is serious," Ainge said. "I sent (trainer) Eddie (Lacerte) a text and I haven't heard anything and usually that means it's not much (Boston.com)."

I don't know how much we can read into this, but it certainly sounds a lot more promising then it did yesterday. I believe Davis to be the key to the 2nd unit for the Celtics, and they can't afford to lose him for too long. Hopefully Ainge is right and Davis will be back soon. We'll keep you posted...

Glen Davis Injury Update

More bad news coming from the Celtics today...

"Glen "Big Baby" Davis left the arena on crutches and told reporters he has a sprained right ankle. He was wearing a protective boot and said he couldn't walk without aid. He could be out for an extended period. He didn't sound positive. X-rays were negative.

Davis sprained the ankle in an ugly collision with Golden State's rugged Rony Turiaf, in which Davis was called for the offensive foul. Turiaf landed awkwardly and fell on Davis' ankle.

"I sprained the ankle before (as in last season), so hopefully I'll be back soon," he said. "I can't walk. If I can't walk, I can't run (Boston.com)."

Awful news for the Celtics who are already playing without Paul Pierce. I think Davis is the key to that 2nd unit. Wallace is not really a presence underneath the basket on the offensive side of the floor. Davis is, and for that reason I see this as a big loss for Boston. We'll keep you posted when the Celtics release a timetable for his return, but it sounds like it will be at least a couple weeks.

Glen "Big Baby" Davis Injury Update

"Glen "Big Baby" Davis is scheduled to get the cast off his right hand today and could be cleared for workouts in the next few days reports The Boston Globe. Davis has missed the entire season after breaking his right thumb in a fight with a friend in late October (ESPN)."

It is about fucking time. I really thought he would be back by now. The Celtics could really use him back. His physical play, and presence under the boards could really help the 2nd unit, and with all that has gone on with him early in year I expect him to come out fired up...

Glen "Big Baby" Davis Injury Update

"Davis, on the other hand, has spent the past month rehabilitating a broken right thumb sustained in a fight with a friend the night before the season opener and has been unable to play. Davis has been working arduously with his left hand and trimming down his weight. And his exile is coming close to an end. The burly forward said yesterday he is set to get his cast removed Dec. 2, and from there he will work to strengthen his hand and return to the court.

“It’s tough to watch the games, knowing that you can help, knowing that you could be the deciding factor of the game,’’ he said. “It’s tough man, so I am excited to get back and get this cast off and start helping my teammates out (Boston.com).’’

I know Williams has played well, but I think Davis could have a great impact for the Celtics. He can be a high energy guy, and a force under the boards. The Celtics could use this, since I think at times they get way to "3 point" happy. It still sounds like he will be out for a week or 2 more, but in such a long NBA season it really shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Big Baby wants to play in NFL

Here is your WTF story of the day....

"Glen "Big Baby" Davis has no regrets about choosing basketball over football. That's because he's achieved success and a championship with the Boston Celtics -- and also because he doesn't believe his days on the football field are over.

Celtics Want Money From Davis

"Glen Davis will be sidelined six to eight weeks due to his broken thumb -- a thumb he broke while fighting with a friend in a car. And as we noted yesterday, Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck is not happy about the incident, and is thinking of suspending Davis. But according to Yahoo! Sports, Grousbeck is also looking for money from Davis.

"Wyc has been on the warpath for two days over this," a league source told Yahoo! Sports. "They want to get money back from him."

This same source also told Yahoo! that the team has been hurting financially, and Grousbeck getting back some of Davis' salary will soften the blow (ESPN)."

Got a bunch of problems with this story. First, they shouldn't go after his money. From everything I have read it sounds like Davis made a poor choice in friends, the guy got out of control and Davis broke his hand. It sucks, and they should suspend him a message, but this is really the first time he has been in trouble, so cut the guy a little slack. Second, how the fuck could the Celtics be "hurting financially"? They have been selling more tickets since the "Big Three" showed up, and team gear is all over the city. I don't understand it. I also read that even if they did go after some money it would go directly to charity, so at best they would get a tax write off.

Big Baby Has Big Broken Hand (UPDATED)

According to Gary Tanguay Big Baby Glen Davis has a broken hand and will miss 6-8 weeks. This sucks because Glen's a great role player and can bring a lot of physical play that is necessary. I guess Sheldon Williams will be taking some of the minutes and I have all the faith in the world he can't screw things up in the 5-7 minutes he will play.

Well this story is getting more interesting by the minute. Apparently Big Baby has a broken hand, because of a fight and the Celtics are not pleased....

"In the wake of a thumb injury sustained during a recent altercation, Celtics forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis likely will be suspended by the team, owner Wyc Grousbeck confirmed to the Globe this morning. Grousbeck initially reported that a suspension was "very likely" during an interview with Gene Lavanchy on the Fox 25 morning show.

"I've had enough of 'Big Baby,' so I'm going to start calling him Glen," Grousbeck told the Globe. "It certainly seems like there's going to be a suspension here."

While Davis could contest the suspension, standard language in player contracts allows for teams to take disciplinary action against a player for fighting. Davis broke his thumb in an altercation with a former college teammate, according to multiple reports, and could miss up to two months as a result of the injury. Grousbeck indicated that surgery to repair the break in Davis's thumb was a possibility (Boston.com)."

This is the kind of shit that the Celtics did not need. In the end, I don't think this will be that big of a story. It is basically mandated that if you get in a fight you get suspended, so I think the Celtics are just going by the rules. Hopefully Big Baby just accepts that and moves on...

Big Baby Misses Practice

"Forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis (hand injury) missed practice Monday afternoon and his status has not been determined for the Celtics' regular-season opening visit to Cleveland Tuesday.

"We sent him for X rays," coach Doc Rivers said of Davis. "He was complaining about it before (practice)."

The Celtics will also be missing Tony Allen (ankle surgery), Brian Scalabrine (ankle sprain), and Bill Walker (knee surgery). Ray Allen, who sustained a cut over his eye during practice Saturday, trained at full speed and is expected to be in the starting lineup (Boston.com)."

We will let you know the outcome of that X-Ray tomorrow, but the Celtics have certainly had to deal with a lot of injuries to begin this season. The good news is that Ray Allen seems to be fine, and Tony Allen isn't on the court.
