Peyton Hillis Wins Madden Cover

"ESPN.com users have spoken, and the face of Madden NFL 12 will be Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis. Hillis was announced Wednesday as the winner of the fan vote, under way since March 21, on "SportsNation" on ESPN2. In all, almost 13 million votes were cast -- including more than 1 million in the final (ESPN)."

You know what? Good for Cleveland and good for Peyton Hillis. About time something went well for them, and I hope they all enjoy it, because there are more dark clouds on the horizon. The Madden curse has a great shot at living on. I guarantee Hillis will have less then 800 yards next season (1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2010). I was actually pumped not to see a Patriot or Aaron Rodgers on the cover, so the "curse" wouldn't expand to teams I like.

Hillis beat out Vick, does it make any sense? No, not really, but he looks way more badass on the cover then the one they had of Vick. Plus, it was already nonsense when guys like Rodgers, Andre Johnson, Adrian Peterson, ect lost out.

Rondo On The Cover Of Sports Illustrated

The NBA has been introduced to Rajon Rondo these playoffs, and now the world will know him now that he is on the cover of SI. I know a lot of people are going to flip out about the "SI curse", but I don't believe in that shit. I know Rondo didn't have his best game last night, but I am still not buying it since Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce appeared on the cover of the SI NBA preview issue that season in 2007 and ended up winning the Championship. Calm down Celtics fans, you are a much better team then the Bruins, and you will not have to deal with the same fate. Plus, how can a team with guys like Vince Carter and Rashard Lewis actually win anything?

Side note - Rondo is not the only local athlete on the cover. Can you spot the other one?

Madden Unveils New Cursed Cover

This Year the victims will actually be two players Troy Polamalu, and Larry Fitzgerald. Previous cover models like Donovan McNabb, Shaun Alexander and Vince Young have suffered injuries during their "Madden" season. Once again the player who are on the cover are saying they don't believe in the curse, but it is kind of funny that this always seems to happen. Anyways, I am not draft Larry Fitzgerald next year in fantasy...Viva La Curse.
