Peyton Hillis Wins Madden Cover

"ESPN.com users have spoken, and the face of Madden NFL 12 will be Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis. Hillis was announced Wednesday as the winner of the fan vote, under way since March 21, on "SportsNation" on ESPN2. In all, almost 13 million votes were cast -- including more than 1 million in the final (ESPN)."
You know what? Good for Cleveland and good for Peyton Hillis. About time something went well for them, and I hope they all enjoy it, because there are more dark clouds on the horizon. The Madden curse has a great shot at living on. I guarantee Hillis will have less then 800 yards next season (1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2010). I was actually pumped not to see a Patriot or Aaron Rodgers on the cover, so the "curse" wouldn't expand to teams I like.
Hillis beat out Vick, does it make any sense? No, not really, but he looks way more badass on the cover then the one they had of Vick. Plus, it was already nonsense when guys like Rodgers, Andre Johnson, Adrian Peterson, ect lost out.

DC Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops

So Call of Duty: Black Ops was finally released, and if you're a fan of these types of games you have to pick this one up. The graphics are unlike anything I have ever seen. They have one level when you are in Vietnam, and you really feel like you are watching a movie.
The levels are great, and I like the well placed rock music that makes you laugh, but also gets you hyped up for the ensuing chaos. And let me tell you it is nonstop action, so get out that blood pressure medication. The story is well done, though I will say it is a little annoying with the transitions sometimes, because you are being interrogated and there is a lot of yelling, but what can ya do.
On top of the normal game play the online is amazing, and this year you and your buddy can play online on the same console, and play against other friends, which I thought was pretty cool. They also brought back all the zombie stuff, and once you beat the game you can be JFK and kill zombies...honestly what more can you ask for?
The only negatives I would say are the transitions between levels, because they can get a bit repetitive, and the guns are as cool as Modern Warfare, because it takes place during different parts of the Cold War.
Anyways, like I said if you like these types of games it's a must buy.

Good Day To Be Alive: Back To The Future Video Game

Last week there was news that their will be a new Ninja Turtles movie (not cartoon), and now there is word that there will be a Back to the Future video game coming out...
"Telltale Games announced today that Christopher Lloyd is returning to voice Doc Brown for the "Back to the Future" game series. The films' co-creator and writer Bob Gale is consulting as well. You can also see the first image below the announcement:
At 88 miles per hour, Back to the Future took millions of spellbound viewers on a high-flying voyage across the space-time continuum in a trio of wildly inventive tales that broke box-office records around the world. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Academy Award®-winning cinematic franchise that generated nearly $1 billion worldwide, Telltale Games will release a new game series this winter as part of the milestone soon after the Blu-ray debut and DVD release of the Back to the Future 25th Anniversary Trilogy on October 26, featuring all-new restorations of the classic films.
Telltale today announced that the highly anticipated Back to the Future games will feature the likenesses of the original stars that made the characters of Marty McFly and Doc Brown legendary: Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd. Lloyd is voicing Doc Brown for the full game series, which Telltale will deliver in five monthly episodes. The first images showing the game depictions of Marty and Doc are now available at: www.backtothefuturegame.com. The game series is developed through a licensing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing.
“Creating cinematic adventures true to the source is a top mission for Telltale,” says Telltale CEO Dan Connors. “Securing Marty and Doc for the games, and presenting the experience that fans know and love, has been top on our list since we initiated development.”
Co-creator and writer Bob Gale’s involvement further strengthens the links to the original series. Gale is consulting with Telltale on the characterizations and storyline for the game, ensuring it will be true to the spirit and adventure of the films.
Gale elaborates: “Twenty-five years ago when I wrote Doc Brown’s line about ‘seeing the future,’ little did I realize that I would be traveling with him to work on this game. Collaborating with Telltale is an amazing opportunity to continue the adventures of Doc and Marty (comingsoon.net).”
Honestly it seems like they are making all this stuff for my age group, which makes sense since we are all out of college now and actually have a little bit of money (well at least most people do, not me). Anyways, I don't care that I shouldn't be this excited, but god damn Back to the Future was fucking sick.

O.K. Brace Yourselves
Techmo Superbowl is coming back and being released for XBox 360 and Playstation 3. The features are:
• Online Multiplayer: Find your old buddies online and challenge them to matches just like back in the day
• 2D + 3D Graphics: Experience all new 3D graphics with the ability to switch to the classic 2D style!
• Customizable Teams and Rosters: Play as any of the 32 teams with customizable team names and rosters in full seasons --GameFocus
I'm going to go as far as saying, this is finally the chance to overthrow Madden. If this somehow works, I personally would like to play Techmo over Madden any day. Madden sucks, and is the biggest rip off.
Hopefully Bo Jackson can't get a touchdown every time he touched the ball.

Video Game Review: Modern Warfare 2

Just picked this game up on Saturday. Let me tell you it is pretty fucking awesome. I am not through the whole game yet, but it is really intense. The only problem I have with it is that there is no coop in campaign mode. The guy who created this game said it would ruin the story, but I think that is fucking bullshit. Anyways, the online play is amazing, the graphics are some of the best I have ever seen, and like I said before your heart will be pounding throughout.

TJ Houshmandzadeh Boycotts Madden
“I understand I averaged 10 yards a catch, but it’s the offense, not me,” Houshmandzadeh said, via Mike Sando of ESPN.com. “I’m not playing Madden no more until they get my rating right. . . . I used to be the best in the world at Madden. I’m going to miss not playing it, but until they do me right, I’m not playing it any more.” More.
Shut the fuck up. It's Madden. Madden has sucked the past couple of years anyways. They don't have Devery Henderson ranked as the top wide receiver in the game, so I guess I will be joining you in your boycott. But seriously T.J., It's a video game.

NCAA Football 2010 Review

In short it is a must buy...
DP, Beer, and I recently pickup this game, and let me tell you it is worth it. The NCAA games have always been my favorite, but they really have made some great improvements. For one it is much faster, which makes it harder. Before you could run all over the field and then bomb it down the field. Now the defensive lines are faster, so you need to make quick decisions. Another improvement is the way players are tackled. Before there wasn't much different ways a player could go down. Now there are gang tackles, flipping guys over, and just some crushing tackles. The good thing is if you hit a guy hard he actually might fumble, which is much more realistic. Also, if you are getting sacked and throw the ball the ball will just float in the air...much better/realistic.
Everything from the sound to the graphics are much improved. So overall I am very impressed and if you love football games then I would pick this game up.

FAIL OF THE MONTH.
Ghostbusters Video Game Review

Sure, I am a huge geek.....but I have made a big deal out of this game, and thus I would not feel right if I didn't write a review.
So, anyways I finally bought this game last weekend. There was so much hype around it. Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd wrote the script, and the whole original cast lent their voices for the game. Basically this is what the 3rd movie was going to be if the production companies didn't fuck it up. Well if you are a Ghostbusters fan you have to pick up this game it is sick. You really do feel like you are a Ghostbuster. The only complaint I have is that it is not multiplayer unless you are playing online, but other then that it is sick. The graphics are amazing. The part where you are getting chased by the stay puft marshmallow man through Time Square is unreal. Well anyways....it is sick.

Retro Mini Handheld NES System

This could be one of the best inventions of the year. We all have some box in the attic that has a shitload on NES games. Now you can put them to use. Really this thing is fucking sweet, but I am kind of pissed, because I was actually a Sega guy, and they don't do cool stuff like this from what I have seen.

I Told Myself I Wouldn't Do It

I told myself I would never get Madden again. I said I would stick with NCAA 09, but I couldn't resist. I'm not happy with Madden because Madden is the same thing every year and hardly has any advancements in the gaming world(nerdiest thing I have ever said). However, I have ran a streak for FSU where I get the top recruits, haven't lost a game, and won like 9 championships in a row. I am too good for NCAA and I am ready for the Steelers or Saints to start a dynasty on the other level. Plus, I have to see what E.J. Manuel has to do in the next level. I don't know if it was the right move, but I know it was a necessary move.
