Delonte Wants To Stay In Boston

"Delonte was drafted by Boston and he has a special place for Boston because of that," said his agent Jarinn Akana of Lagardere Unlimited. "He spent some good years there, then came back last year and was able to play, but had injuries here and there. He did contribute, but he wanted to contribute more and help Boston advance further. Of course he'd like to be back, I think that's his No. 1 goal to be back and help Boston win another championship."

The thing about Delonte West, is that he never hurts the team. He never does anything on the court that I can point to and say, "he was the reason we lost". He is perfect for the team and everyone needs a back up PG/SG. Unlike many professional athletes I think Delonte doesn't really care about money, he will probably resign with Boston for under his pay scale because he appreciates the city.

I have always been a Delonte fan, I felt bad when he was traded away, so if he can stick around for a couple of years that would be awesome. Plus it's always cool to have a crazy person on your team, Wildcard.

Celtics Injury Updates

The season is finally over, and the question now is whether or not the Celtics are ready. After reading Doc's comments about Shaq I have to admit I am pretty concerned...

Celtics coach Doc Rivers said that he was hopeful Shaquille O'Neal would be ready for Game 1 of the team's first round series with the Knicks, but that it was "too early to tell, but I think so (WEEI)."

I don't know about you, but that doesn't make me feel very good. I know they said his latest injury was minor, but he lasted 6 mins last time, and the Celtics really need him to play 18-20 mins a game if they are going to make it to the Finals again. Some people think it would be better if he sat out a little longer, but I disagree. I believe this team needs him now, and he also needs to be on the court before they get to teams like the Heat/Bulls/Lakers.

Another injury that was concerning was Delonte West. Doc Rivers sounded much more optimistic about his return...

"[West] looked good. He felt a lot better toda," Rivers said. "Watching the injury live I was very concerned." A subdued West said prior to Wednesday's game that he had swelling in his ankle where he had previously chipped a bone. "It’s all hands on decks now," West said. "It’s no excuses (WEEI)."

That's good news, because I was really worried when I saw him go down, especially since it was the same ankle he hurt before. The Celtics need him 100% because he is a big part of that 2nd unit. I would much rather have him on the court then Arroyo.

I'll admit I am really nervous about the playoffs, but there is still a big part of me that think Rondo will take his game to the next level. Still, they are going to need Shaq's big body in the middle to make it to the Finals, and that will cause many sleepless nights in Boston.

Delonte Thinks He Won't Be Healthy All Year

"I'm not a 100 percent," West said. "But I'm able to play and perform so I'm looking forward to it.

"I don't think I'm gonna be 100 percent at all this year," he added. "I've been told that the wrist is gonna take another six months to recover, still don't have rotation. The ankle is a little sore, but no more sore than any other player is playing with right now."CSNNE

I'm annoyed with Delonte. He can be a key piece to the team when healthy, but the problem is, he's never healthy! He's only played 8 games this year and he is needed to give rest to Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Rajon. I trust him and Carlos Arroyo to run the 2nd unit. I don't want to question his toughness but he's the most fragile basketball player I've ever heard of.

Delonte West Back Wednesday

Delonte West told ESPNBoston.com on Sunday that his sprained right ankle is still sore, but he plans to play Wednesday against Indiana.

"There's still a little bit of soreness in [the ankle]," said West. "[I still] don't have my explosiveness. I've been able to push off of it; I can gingerly go through drills, but it's not putting that game pressure on it. A few more days should be sufficient (ESPN)."

If he isn't 100% then why the hell is he going to play. I just don't see Doc letting him go out there without his "explosiveness". It just seems like is stupid with the way the Celtics have approached injuries all season.

"There's still a lot of season left," said Rivers. "If Delonte didn't play a game this year, then played well in the playoffs, you would say he had a successful season. At the end of the day, be available at the end (ESPN)."

Exactly Doc. So, either West is making a bigger deal then he needs to about this "pain", or Doc will end up sitting him. The Celtics are getting healthier (knock on wood) by the day, and once they get everyone back they are going to be unstoppable.

Celtics' Walking Wounded

The Celtics bench is the walking wounded right now. First, let's start with the good news. Delonte sounds like he will be back either Sunday or Wednesday. Doc said whatever game he does come back he will likely only play 10 mins, but Doc would like to get Delonte a game before the All-Star break.

There isn't much news on Shaq. His Achilles is still acting up and there is basically no shot we seem him until after the break. Nate Robinson had to leave the game last night with a bruised right knee. He is expected to have an MRI today to determine the extent of the injury. That one really hurts, because until Delonte is back the Celtics will have Von Wafer and Avery Bradley in the backcourt behind Rajon.

Not much news on Daniels, but ESPN is floating the rumor the Celtics might waive him, since they have a full roster and needs more healthy bodies with all these guys out. Don't be shocked if the Celtics make a move for a SF at some point...

"The bottom line is every team goes through these situations," Ainge told The Boston Globe. "Right now, I can't say anything. I have to manage our future payroll. I have to manage our team next year. There are a lot of things to weigh and there will be a lot of things that come across my desk. Just because a guy plays small forward doesn't mean he's better than the guys we have. We want to add quality to our team (ESPN)."

Delonte West Injury Update

The Celtics have been playing well, but they aren't at full strength yet. I have said all along the 2nd unit won't hit their stride will Delonte West is back and 100% healthy.

"Delonte West participated in some non-contact drills on Thursday. He hopes to up the work in practices soon with the chance that he can return before the All-Star break.

"If not, I'll definitely be ready to go the start of the second half of the season," West told The Boston Globe. "Each day it's getting better, feeling comfortable, doing a little bit more. I was shooting layups and catching passes today. It's still a little sore, but I'm hoping any day now I can get cleared to start practicing. Looks can be deceiving -- I'm catching passes and dribbling, but I'm not doing anything with a lot of force. Force gives me discomfort. Either way, I'm going to have to play with a little discomfort (ESPN)."

Last game Ray Allen blew up on the 2nd unit for lack of hustle, and blowing a lead. The 2nd unit all season has been very hit or miss, maybe it is a bit of nitpicking but if the Celtics are going to win it all they can't have a big drop-off from the 1st unit to the 2nd. I believe when Delonte comes back and takes the point from Nate the 2nd unit will run a lot smoother. West plays much better defense then Nate, and also distributes the basketball better. That should make life easier for guys like Big Baby and Shaq.

Everything seems to be going well in terms of recovery, but I very much doubt he will be on the court before the All-Star game. Doc is usually very cautious, which in my opinion is one of his biggest assets, especially with the age the Celtics have on this squad.

Delonte West Injury Update

Delonte West began working out without a brace on his right wrist this week. Even though he is dribbling in practice, West says he still has some trepidation about catching the ball.

"I'm still a little timid, but I'm getting there," West told The Boston Globe. "As far as dribbling and doing whatever I can with the right hand, I'm permitted to do that."

West, who as missed 26 games because of the injury, expects to participate in full-contact practices in two to three weeks.

"Everything's on schedule," West said. "As far as dealing with the pain and the rotation, I'm actually ahead of schedule. I'm happy about the progress (ESPN)."

Rumors is he will be back just before the All-Star break. I really believe that a lot of the success the Celtics are going to have this year is going to be on West. They really need a PG for the second unit. If he can get guys like Shaq, Big Baby the ball they should be able to keep the scoring going from the 1st unit to the 2nd. I really like West, and was pissed when he got hurt, but it sounds like he is progressing well.

Delonte West Injury Update

"West is still singing the early return song. "I might be back a lot sooner than people think," he told CSNNE.com following the Celtics-Hawks game on Thursday night. "I'm pushing for mid-January."

While west is hoping for a mid-January return, it's looking like there will be a better indication of his progress in two weeks when his cast gets taken off, according to the website. How he feels and progresses from there could ultimately decided whether he can indeed hit his mid-January goal (ESPN)."

From everything I know about Delonte, he is a miserable person when he can't play basketball, so I am confident he will do everything in his power to get back ASAP. It is really too bad, because the Celtics could really use him right now with all the injuries to Rajon Rondo. Still, it's a long year, and by February the Celtics will have Perkins and Delonte back, not to mention Shaq, and Jermaine O'Neal. Hopefully by then this whole team will be back, because when they do they have by far the deepest team in the NBA.

Celtics Injury Bug Won't Go Away

The Celtics have the best record in the Eastern Conference at 14-4, but that doesn't mean that don't have their troubles. Jermaine O'Neal is said to be at least a week away from even practicing again. Delonte West is out for several months after breaking his wrist. Now there are reports that Rondo looked off last night because his hamstring is giving him trouble again. This is obviously terrible new for the Celtics as they are already thin at the PG position. To make matters worse Nate Robinson is having pain in his heal, and that injury only seems to be getting worse.

This could lead to Daniels getting more time at PG, and eventually I think you are going to see Bradley getting some minutes. You hope these injuries don't go on all year, but you just never know.

Delonte West/Von Wafer Fight

There were reports that Von Wafer and Delonte West had a fight in the Celtics locker room Friday. When the report first came out it really sounded like Delonte would be cut, but now it seems that the report was completely overblown...

"I'm competitive, he's competitive, as long as it's for the betterment of the team, there's nothing wrong with healthy competition and pushing each other to get better," West told ESPNBoston.com. "Things went a little far, but at the same time, we were able to move past that. We're professionals."

Asked if he felt the two had patched things up, West added: "Oh yeah, no question. We laughed about it [Sunday]."

West also said the incident was overblown and facts about the fight were incorrect.

"I read the reports and a lot of things were taken out of [context], and facts were made up that were not true, how things played out," West told The Boston Globe. "Guys get into scuffles, or whatever you want to call it, but at the end of the day we're brothers in here and we had a big laugh about it. We're trying to win, we're competitive, we have fiery guys in here and, you know, you've got to get to the next thing, next game, next challenge (ESPN)."

I am glad that he is still here, and I really hope it wasn't that big of a deal, because West is going to be play a very important role for this Celtics team, and I really feel he will be an important part of this bench.

Bottom line is that fans in Boston want to love Delonte, lets just hope he doesn't blow it.

Random Celtics News

Here is Nate Robinson still fucking around with Shaq and putting salt water in his drink:

and I guess Delonte is playing like a madman:
"I’m just happy to be given this opportunity to do what I love," he said. "I’m lucky to be here. I’m happy to be here. I’m a soldier in Doc’s army. Whatever he needs me to do. I’ll go to war and die for this team. Playing every game, every minute this year like my life depended on it, cause it [does.] Nothing’s promised."

"I’ve been given this opportunity to prove to the NBA and the world that I’m a good person," West said. "I have a lot to prove and I don’t want to let anyone down. For them to say they want this guy back and Danny Ainge to say that, Wyc [Grousbeck] and the ownership and some of the players… that’s a high compliment. That’s something that you’re going to take to the grave with you. When you’re done playing you’ll tell your kids, 'Doc Rivers wanted me to play for him.' Maybe I’m not this quote unquote bad guy after all." From EEI

I love Delonte, I felt really bad when we traded him for Ray Allen because I believe he had a special bond with Boston. You can call him every name in the book, but there is one thing that I can say with all confidence, is that he is a baller, and he works really hard at it. He may be nutso off the court, but on the court you won't find a harder working fellow.

DELONTE IS BACK!!! WHERE THE FUCK IS GLORIA JAMES!!!

Now that Delonte West is back there should be no doubt in anyone's mind that the Celtics are going to win a championship this year (on paper). Other than being the best mother lover there is Delonte does a couple things that the Celtics desperately needed. He is a good shooter, can play some D, and played with ferocity on Rondo can match. He has a high basketball IQ and if Avery Bradley and Nate Robinson fail to be Rondo's back up he can play some point.

A couple issues revolving around Delonte are his lack of size, and his lack of the common sense gene that often finds him in trouble. Fortunately for him, he now joins a team first, act smart veteran laden team that have a chip on their broad shoulders. He has a non guarenteed contract that if he acts up we can cut him, and is signed for (I assume) the veteran minimum.

Our bench is shaping up to be solid and hilarious with Nate as the 1, Delonte at the 2, Quisy at the 3, Baby at the 4 and Shaq at the 5. Pretty good right? This puts the Celtics over the top and I bet we can't all wait to game 1, when LeBron takes his talents to Boston and get heckled terribly about being a douche and for having his mom be porked by one of our players.

See you in the finals Lakers.

Delonte In Town Celtics Looking To Make A Move

Delonte West has been spotted in town and the rumors are he will be back in green in no time.

Although, Delonte is a headcase and pretends he's desparado from time to time, I do like him. He would be a little undersized but he would also add depth for the 2/3 position. With the addition of Von Wafer, I'd rather see a Wilson Chandler type guy here but I'll be pumped if Delonte is in green.

Plus he fucked LeBron's mom.

Delonte West Waived By Wolves

As expected since they traded Ramon Sessions for him, the Wolves have now waived Delonte West. Wolves will reportedly pay him $500,000 of his $4.6 million contract. The question now is who will pick up Delonte?

There are 2 leading candidates right now (Celtics/Bulls). Both make sense, both need another shooter. Delonte was loved when he was in Boston, so I could really see him coming back. I would like it a lot if they did, but that would also mean they would have to make some kind of cut, as they are still in need of another big man.

West pleaded guilty to weapons charges in a strange case where he was caught carrying three guns while on a motorcycle in his native Maryland last year. Playing for the Celtics, even if it is for near the minimum, would still give Delonte a chance to restart his career. He would get to play for a playoff team that will have a ton of national exposure. This could help rebuild his image and land him a better contract after this season.

Oh yea, did I mention he fucked LeFag's mom, who the Celtics play Game #1???

Celtics News

The Celtics are still a contender for the NBA championship and team president Danny Ainge's plan is to add a veteran or two that can help the team.

The Boston Globe lists Delonte West, a former Celtic, Shaquille O'Neal and Roger Mason as possibilities.

West is expected to be waived by Minnesota in the next few days and O'Neal wants to play for a contender and has only a few options at this time.

The Celtics are also looking at bringing back Eddie House and Michael Finley. ESPN

I would be so happy if the Celtics brought in Shaq and Delonte. I would be perfectly happy if that is how our offseason wrapped up. Delonte (although crazy) is a good player and a good shooter, when we got rid of him for Ray Allen, I felt really bad because he loved it here in Boston, and if we can give him another opportunity that would be great. He would be a great 2 for our second unit, he's a fiesty defender, a good shot and a reliable free throw shooter.

And Shaq will be a great option too. Once Perk gets healthy and if we get him our bigs will be, Perk, Baby, Jermaine O'Neal and Shaq. Not bad on paper, huh? If this pans out and we do get those 2 guys, we would have had the second best offseason to the Heat.

Delonte West: Road Warrior

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West was arrested Thursday after officers pulled him over for speeding on a motorcycle while carrying two loaded handguns and a loaded shotgun in a guitar case. ESPN

I didn't know whether to go the Road Warrior or Desperado theme, but this is ridiculous. I know Delonte has been "suffering" from a Bi-polar condition, however, why the hell would he ever need two loaded hand guns and a shotgun unless you are planning on doing some really bad shit.

Cavs Resign Delonte West

The Cavs resigned restricted free agent West to a multiyear deal today (the terms of the deal were not disclosed). West is a solid player, but the Cavs need more then a solid player to play with Lebron. I liked Delonte a lot, even though he is one of the dumbest people I have ever heard speak in my life. Honestly, this guy made it through college. No wonder I can't get a good job...
