With The 14th Pick In The NFL Draft The St. Louis Rams Select....

DP's Pick
Muhammad Wilkerson, DE, Temple

They were really banking on Julio Jones falling, but are happy that Wilkerson fell to them as he can play outside linebacker as well as DE. The Rams really need to fix their defense and this is a start. Wilkerson is really good and people will underrate him because he played for Temple, but this is a really solid pick.

BMack's Pick:
Corey Liuget, DT, Illinois

A lot of scouts say that Liuget is the most underrated DT in the draft. I can't say I watched a lot of Rams football last year, but I do know they had trouble stopping the runs last year (17th in the NFL). Some people are saying Mark Ingram could go here, but a team with so many holes really shouldn't be building on something that isn't a problem (Steven Jackson). This is a good safe pick, as they try to rebuild that defense. Obviously their preference would've been a WR, but there is no one worth taking here.

Juice Williams To Be Benched

After a 1-3 start, Illinois has decided to make a change at quarterback.

Senior Juice Williams has been benched in favor of junior Eddie McGee for this week's game against Michigan State, Fighting Illini head coach Ron Zook announced on his radio show Monday morning. McGee, who has filled in for Williams multiple times during the past three seasons, will make his first career start against the Spartans. ESPN

This is surprising figuring Juice Williams has been a four year starter and has made 38 straight starts. He has proven to be a great qb, but Illinois and Juice has not lived up to their expectations. I don't agree with the benching because I think Juice Williams deserves another chance.

Illinois Man Faces 6 Months in Jail for Yawning

"Drowsy spectators in one suburban Chicago courtroom might want to stifle their yawns from now on. A 33-year-old man is facing six months in jail for yawning in Will County Judge Daniel Rozak's court last month. The disturbance happened as Clifton Williams' cousin, Jason Mayfield, was being sentenced for a drug charge on July 23. A prosecutor who was in the courtroom described the offending yawn as "a very loud, boisterous" attempt to disrupt the proceedings. But Mayfield disagreed, saying it was "not an outrageous yawn." Rozak found Williams in contempt of court and sentenced him to six months in jail. However, Rozak could free Williams after a status hearing Thursday, if he apologizes and the judge accepts (FoxNews)."

That must have been one hell of a yawn to get the judge so pissed off that he charged him with contempt. No way they will actually let this go to court, since it would be an insane waste of money. The judge will probably just give him an earful, and then Williams will apologize, and it will be over. Still hilarious though...

College Football Picks

For all of you following my college football picks I am sorry. And if you possibly have been gambling on my picks I buried you. But this week will be my resurrection and improve my 7-7 record.

The game of the weekend is (8) Alabama vs (3) Georgia

I like Georgia and I like Knowshon Moreno a lot, but I like Alabama better. Georgia has an inexperienced offensive line and I believe Nick Saban will be able to take full advantage of it and get to Matt Stafford. Alabama's strength is their offensive line and that has led to a pleasant surprise of Bama runningback Glen Coffee. Bama also has the best wide receiver in the country in true freshman Julio Jones. Georgia can go with the black out/ white out/ red out that is not going to matter on Saturday night, Bama has this game.

Bama 21-17

The second game is (2) Oklahoma vs (24) TCU

I am going to take Oklahoma in this game. Oklahoma has a 24 game home winning streak and has a chance to be the number 1 team in the nation. TCU has a good offensive line, Oklahoma's is better. TCU has Andy Dalton throwing the ball, but Oklahoma's Sam Bradford is better. TCU would have to play flawless to have a chance to upend Oklahoma, and I just don't see that happening.

Oklahoma 35-13

(12) Penn State vs (22) Illinois

This was a really tough decision for me because I do like Juice Williams, but the ultimate decision came down to me always rooting for JoePa. The Lions offense has been out of control and that has led to the biggest scoring differential of 42.8 points. Their defense is outstanding and that leads to a long game for the Fighting Illini.

Penn State 45 to 21

And the non top 25 game

Viginia Tech vs Nebraska

Expect a huge game from Tyrod Tyler, even though he has a hurt ankle. Nebraska is 3-0 but they have played no one so far. Tech's defense is amazing.

V-tech 35-17
