Sounds Like Kevin McHale Got The Rockets Job

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports via sources, "after a strong final push in the interview process, McHale has emerged as the frontrunner for Rockets coaching job."

Alex Kennedy of HOOPSWORLD also offered this on Sunday: "It sounds like McHale will be the Houston Rockets' next coach. I'd be surprised if they went in a different direction at this point (ESPN)."

Good news for the Celtics as Lawrence Frank interviewed for this job. Obviously I would rather Frank stay with the Celtics, as it would be two years in a row the Celtics would be looking for a lead assistant coach. Also, who knows maybe McHale can do us more favors like he did when he gave us KG.

McHale Out As Timberwolves Coach

"A person with knowledge of the decision says Kevin McHale will not return as the Minnesota Timberwolves' coach. The person, speaking on condition of anonymity because an announcement had not yet been made, told the Associated Press on Wednesday that McHale and new boss David Kahn came to the conclusion that McHale's time with the Timberwolves was up. That confirms a Twitter message posted by the Timberwolves' Kevin Love early Wednesday that read, "Today is a sad day ... Kevin McHale will NOT be back as head coach this season (Sportsline)."

The Celtics wouldn't be what they are today without Kevin McHale, and I am not talking about him as a player. He gave us Garnett for a bunch of scrubs, Even Jefferson can't stay on the floor long enough to have an impact. Anyways, McHale was my favorite basketball player when I was a little kid and I wish him nothing but the best. He was just not cut out to manage/coach a team.

Randy Wittman Out, McHale In

"The Minnesota Timberwolves fired Randy Wittman, who will be replaced by vice president of basketball operations Kevin McHale on the bench." ESPN

Randy Wittman sucks as a coach, but he doesn't have much on his team behind Al Jefferson. However, this is Kevin McHale's last stop before he gets canned. McHale was a great player and had some sweet post moves, but he (like MJ) can't cut it as a GM.
