Marbury Speak The Truth (Kind Of)

"Marbury also took another shot at the Knicks and coach Mike D'Antoni and says LeBron James isn't coming to New York.

"I'm just talking as a fan and New Yorker who grew up loving the Knicks: why would I give you my money to watch them?" Marbury said. "This is atrocious. Guys coming down court, just raising up 3-pointers from anywhere. The coaching is horrible. What kind of coaching is this? If they shoot like that in the game, imagine how they shoot in practice. New Yorkers deserve better decisions form the front office and New York City has to deal with this mess. ... LeBron isn't coming to a rebuilding team. Why would he come to a rebuilding team? It makes no sense. Is this franchise built to win a championship or to make money? (ESPN)"

I agree with everything he is saying, because basically that has been what I have been saying for awhile now. There is no chance Lebron is going to New York. The teams sucks and LeBron wants a Championship. I would like to take Marbury seriously, but then he had to make comments that he was taking this year off, but plan to return to the NBA next year. Sorry buddy, that isn't happening. You are a crazy asshole...

I also found it funny that after his rant about not spending money on a Knicks game he stated that he was going to opening night with his kids....

Stephon Marbury Is Talking Smack On The Truth

This is from Stephon Marbury's twitter:
Paul pierce is better then kobe bryant yes or no. Ask him what does he think. You know how I feel about kobe so we won't speak on it. LIL

Go tell Doc and Danny your daddy's that some one you fake truth. Your style is played out number 34. The hood knows your so far gone.

Who the fuck does Stephon Marbury think he is? He has yet to accomplish anything but be a headache for every team he has ever played for. Paul Pierce is a championship caliber player with team oriented goals. I don't know why Steph would even bring Paul Pierce's name unless he wants to get back in the public and create something that isn't really there. Regardless, I hope Paul Pierce doesn't start a war of words and just lets his play do the talking as we raise another banner this year.

Stephon Marbury Answers My Uncle's Question

David:

I just asked Stephon Marbury if he'd ever eaten Ostrich?

He said. "Have I ever eaten Ostrich? No. What is that an Australian thing?"

Well That Was A Giant Waste Of Time

I listened to Stephon Marbury's streaming video last night and first of all, it took an hour for him to figure out what the fuck he was doing, secondly, this is what I got out of it:

"We gotta bring the haters over. Once we bring 'em over, we goin' overpopulate."

• "Eddie House's kid is funny as hell."

• "Mandarin is gonna be the language in 15-to-20 years."

• "I'm telling you what it is: I know I'm the best point guard in the NBA. I don't need anybody else to tell me that."

• "Can I play lacrosse? Yeah, I can play lacrosse. Jim Brown played lacrosse."
• "How did I hurt the Knicks? Tell me how I hurt the Knicks. (pause) Exactly. (laughs) The Knicks hurt you!"

• "Dwyane Wade, you don't guard him. You try to contain him."

• "Can I rap? Yeah, I can rap. But I don't. Rap is just fast talking."

• "It's not easy. There's a lot of games you want to sit down, but something keeps you going."

NOTHING about him coming back to Boston or anything. Just him being stupid and being a giant wast of time. Fuck you Stephon, just come to Boston, no one else wants you.

Marbury Coming Back To Boston?

DP was telling me this last night and I really didn't believe it. There aren't a bunch of credible sources, but New England Sports 24/7 is claiming that they have an inside source that tell them Marbury is going to be back in green next year...

"A source tells NES247 that Stephon Marbury will be returning to Boston, possibly for the bi-annual exception, before the end of August. Marbury is still playing the waiting game to see what other teams have to offer, but he intends on returning to Boston and Ainge has already given him a contract offer. Now I know you guys are thinking: where’s the link to the other news source? There isn’t one, this information is exclusive to NES247. Marbury will be in green next season playing backup to Rondo. You heard it here first (nes24/7)."

I don't like Marbury, but I really hope this happens. The Celtics have shit for a backup PG right now, and Marbury will be so much better with some games under his belt, and already knowing the Celtics system. Obviously for now this is all just rumors, but if it is true it just adds another angry man to the Celtics team.....and I like it!

Marbury To Play In Europe?

"Stephon Marbury told the New York Post Wednesday night that he won't be returning to the Boston Celtics and may play in Europe next season. "If I have to give it overseas, I'll give it overseas," Marbury told the newspaper. "I like the Europe option to bring the Starbury [sneaker] brand there and sponsor soccer players. ... The Knicks put me in a really bad situation, a really bad spot, so I'm still waiting. Teams are still shopping (ESPN)."

Marbury is one of the biggest pricks of all time. I hope he goes overseas, because I am really just sick of hearing him talk. Don't get me wrong I think he can still play if he is in the right situation, but this guy really only cares about money, and since no team in the NBA is going to give him the cash I really do believe he will play overseas...

Marbury Done In Boston

Stephon Marbury told The Boston Globe early Friday morning that he doesn't expect to return to Boston after receiving a disappointing one-year offer for the veteran's minimum of $1.3M.

"Thank you Boston for allowing the world to see me play again after all that went on in N.Y.," said Marbury, via e-mail. "The fans treated me with open arms and that's all anyone can ask for."

I was a little surprised by this at first, because he really seem genuine when he said, he knows Boston doesn't have that much money and blah blah blah, then I realized it was Stephon Marbury. I really believe he will be a decent back up, but it just won't be with the Celtics. Whatever, fuck him. Let's see if Pruitt can do anything.

Stephon Marbury Wants To Come Back

“I’m not trying to get a bunch of money,’’ Marbury said. “I know Boston doesn’t have a bunch of money. I’m not seeking out teams with more money. I want to play for a championship-contending team. I can’t play for a young team that’s not in a position to compete for a championship.

“I want to play in Boston. I’m not going to say that I don’t. But I know the way that business works. If I don’t come back it won’t be because of me.’’

“They brought me in when I was going through some things,’’ Marbury said. “They showed a lot of faith in me. They believed in me, even when I wasn’t playing well. The fans and the organization were behind me every day.’’

I like it and I want him back. Marbury was somewhat of a disappointment, but I have a feeling after being back for a little, he will get his legs underneath him and be a very efficient person off the bench. He can still ball, and if we can get him for not much money, why not?

What To Do With Marbury

I say we keep him if we can and he understands he is still going to be a 6th man. I don't believe his stock rose too much during his time in Boston. He showed glimpses of potential, but was a defensive liability. I would like the Celtics to give this guy one more shot if that is possible. I would like to see what he has with a full preseason with the team, and see if his attitude stays the same. I have always been on Stephon's side, even when he was with the Knicks, and it is pretty evident that Eddie House fits a 2 role a lot better then a primary ball handler. There have been rumors that he is going overseas, but I would love to see the tumultuous PG come back for another test season.

K.G. Defends Marbury

Fittingly, the NBA's reigning Defensive Player of the Year came to Stephon Marbury's defense. Kevin Garnett spoke up for his former teammate in Minnesota, both as a player and as a person.

"Steph's leadership I think has been sort of questioned and damaged, if you will," Garnett said. "But once a leader, always a leader. I've been telling some of the young guys who haven't seen a lot of Steph that I thought we got a steal in grabbing him.

"Obviously, for whatever reasons, his different relationships with different ballclubs was a thing of the past. If you look at some of the guys on this team, they haven't always had the best reps before coming. But we deal with each other how we deal with each other, and he fits right in.

"Not only is he versatile, but people forget that Steph was one of the premier guards in this league for a while. And other than him not playing for a year, we all expect big things out of him. But I think he expects a lot of big things out of himself. He works extremely hard. You just don't, excuse my French, be the (expletive) from a point guard standpoint, all them years of being who you are. Obviously, the facts are there, but you just don't become that. You get that through hard work, watching film. I know what kind of drive he has inside, and I think he's going to help us in the long run." ESPN

Stephon Marbury's time in Boston has been hot and cold to say the least. Marbury shows signs of promise then disappears. We have all given him a little bit of room because he didn't play for a year, and nothing can overshadow Mikki Moore's shittyness. For Boston's sake, I hope K.G. is right. The playoffs are coming up and we are going to need Marbury big time when it comes to teams pressing Eddie House on the second unit. Marbury has done all the "right" things since coming to Boston off the court, but it is about time he steps up, on the court.

Is Marbury A Good Fit?

Yesterday I reported that Marbury will be joining the Celtics once he clears waivers. Now it's time we take a serious look at this.

Pros:
Sure handled guard
Instant offense
Strong guard
6-2 but can guard many shooting guards
Can create his own offense with penetration
Can help Eddie House when it comes to full court pressure
With Tony Allen out for the rest of the year, I trust him more than Pruitt
Sells awesome shoes
Head tattoo

Cons:
Eratic play
He's a dickhead
Defense is a question
Attitude is a question
Hasn't played in over a year

A majority of his cons have to deal with his attitude. If he can realize that the Celtics don't need "Starbury" and can embrace the back-up roll, there should be no problem. Also, he will need to commit to the defensive end, he can defend if he wants to, but since the Celtics are a defensive minded team, he needs to take in what Tom T is going to rant about. The reason why this is going to work is because Marbury needs Boston a lot more than Boston needs him. He knows that, and everyone knows that. Marbury could be playing for a final contract in his NBA career, he needs to be on his best behavior and be a great teammate if he wants to play again. So I will take it, and see how it goes.

Stephon Marbury Released

Stephon Marbury has been officially been released the Knicks and reportedly signing with the Celtics once he clears waivers.

I like it. I went back and forth on this a lot and now I am all for it. Marbury may have been a cancer on every team he has been on, but with a small contract, he knows he is on thin ice. Marbury could be a very good ball handler for the second unit and can give some consistent scoring from the guard position. We need someone who can drive and shoot to take minutes away from Paul and Ray, so they are fresh for the playoffs. Good move Celtics.

Marbury is Full of Shit

"A source close to the situation has said there has been absolutely no verbal commitment between the Celtics and disgruntled New York Knicks guard Stephon Marbury. The source went on to say the two sides have spoken (the Knicks gave Marbury permission to talk with other clubs), and that the Celts would definitely like to add him under the right circumstances. However, the club is not prepared to give him major playing time (Boston Herald)."

A lot of people are excited by the thought of Marbury coming to the Celtics, and it's driving me crazy. This guy is nothing but a cancer. He isn't even on the Celtics and he's causing problems. Obviously Marbury's going to try to use the Celtics as leverage so the Knicks will give him a buyout. Even if that happens, do you really think it will change him? He's going to want a lot of playing time. If he doesn't get it, he will rip apart this locker room in no time. The Celtics may need some bench help, but this isn't the answer, adding guys like Marbury will just mess up the good things the Celtics have been able to create over the past two years. Pierce, Garnett, and Allen have all given up a little bit to make the team better, and Marbury will do the exact opposite. That's what he's done his whole career. No one matters more to Starbury than Starbury.

Marbury Verbal Commitment To Celtics

Stephon Marbury acknowledged for the first time yesterday he has a verbal commitment from the Celtics and accused the Knicks of not accepting his latest buyout offer because they don't want him winning a championship in Boston.

For a second Marbury was thought to go to Greece, but when that failed this is the newest reports from him. I have went back and forth on whether he would be a good fit on the Celtics. The Dilemma is that he is sure handled point guard that can provide scoring to a sometimes flat Celtics second unit but be that as it may, the Celtics are cruising right now and have an 8 game win streak with large credit going to the bench and especially Eddie House. It would be a shame if this signing disrupted the cohesion that the bench has newly formed.

Marbury To Greece?

Representatives of the Greek club Olympiacos contacted the New York Knicks earlier in the day in an effort to begin a dialogue on what it would take to get Marbury released from his contract, sources told ESPN.

This move will definitely get Marbury a lot more money, but it will not give him the glory of an NBA title. This will really determine his character if he bounces to Greece to get a check rather than hooks on with a great team(Celtics). I have flip flopped with Marbury coming to the Celtics, but right now, he can still be a good fit. Eddie House is a streaky shooter with limited ball handling skills and if Marbury came in we would have a legit PG. Gabe Pruitt has yet to show me that he can be a scoring threat and who knows what we will get from JR Giddens or Tony Allen, so if the offer is on the table for him to come to Boston we have to jump at it.

What The Fuck!

Nearly one year since Stephon Marbury last played in a regular-season game, signals are getting stronger that the New York Knicks' outcast will eventually make his comeback with the Boston Celtics. ESPN

What the fuck Celtics, the last thing we need in this little lull in the season is a shithead like Marbury. I understand when Rajon goes out Eddie House hasn't been really cutting it when bringing the ball up, but Marbury is your answer? What the fuck. I really don't get this move, reports are saying that there is a lot of arguing already going on in the Celtics locker room and you think Stephon Marbury is the answer? I would rather play Sam Cassell everyday than have Stephon Marbury on the team.

God dammit.

But to be positive. Maybe Marbury will be pissed at the Knicks and realize he isn't the star he once was and just want to win. Maybe he will be a sure handled back-up guard to Rajon and Ray Allen that will be a more consistant inside/ outside shooter. Maybe he won't be a shithead.
