Tiki Barber's Comeback Not Going So Well

In all the craziness of the past couple of days of NFL signings we all kind of forgot about Tiki Barber. He made headlines earlier this offseason when he announced he would make a comeback. Yet, no one has picked him up. Our friends over at FitzandVig.com pointed out that Tiki is most likely going to have to try to play in the UFL next season and show that he still has something in the tank. I think this whole comeback thing was a stupid idea and was doomed to fail from the beginning, so it's really not all that shocking. There are just too many young players that a team could bring in that have a better chance of being productive and will have about 1/2 the ego.

There is one story out there from opposingviews.com that claims Tiki is about to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but I just can't see that being true.

I swear to God Steelers.....

Apparently the Steelers are on Tiki Barbers short list of teams he would like to go to if he were to return to the NFL.

I would be beyond pissed if I had to watch this overrated piece of shit on my team. Tiki Barber is someone who I have always hated my whole life. I hated the fact he was a Giant, the stupid way he carried the ball and if he takes up Rashard Mendenhall's time running the ball I will be even more pissed.

I don't even know why Barber's return to the NFL is a big deal to be honest, he hasn't played in years, and wasn't even that good when he did. So Steelers please don't sign him, I would hate to have to root for him.

Tiki Barber = Anne Frank

"Former Giants running back Tiki Barber, who plans to make a comeback this fall, is taking some heat for a comment he made comparing himself to Holocaust victim Anne Frank.

Barber explained that he lived in the attic of his agent, Mark Lepselter, in an effort to hide from the media after leaving his pregnant wife to move in with girlfriend Traci Johnson last year. Because his agent is Jewish, Barber referred to the situation as “a reverse Anne Frank thing (WEEI).”

Well the media will jump all over this, but I don't think it's a big deal. Actually, I giggled at it. I mean he was in a situation in which he needed to hide, and it happened to be a Jewish person's house. Obviously she was in a much worse situation, but I found the comment funny and I think people need to fucking calm down.

With that being said, to make a joke to the media avoid the following topics...

Holocaust
Terrorism
9/11
Gays
Abortion
Slavery
Any that race is involved in
Woman's rights

Leave those to us.

Tiki Barber Making A Comeback

"Barber's manager, Mark Lepselter, has informed the New York Post that his client's decision to attempt an NFL comeback was based upon "some overtures made to him recently." Lepselter would not divulge any more information on these "overtures (ESPN)."

Wow, I would've never have guessed this comeback, but apparently he has already filled out the paper work, and once there is a new CBA he will hit free agency. Tiki will be 36 in April, and I really doubt he has much left in the tank. I mean this guy hasn't play since 2006, so I really think this is asking a lot. Then again his last season he rushed for 1,662, and obviously will come in 100% healthy.

My guess is that a team brings him to camp, but then he gets cut, and either goes back to the booth or the UFL. That hasn't stopped Antonio Pierce from ripping him as a "leader"...

"Tiki Barber, the football player, great player, will be very productive probably in certain situations, third-down, maybe can help out a young quarterback, some young running backs, depending on who it is," Pierce said on ESPN's "NFL Live" per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPNNewYork.com. "Tiki Barber, the leader, the person in that locker room? He is not going to do anything for your team. Now if that is the guy you think you are bringing in, you might want to look in another direction (ESPN)."

So, I guess his comeback won't be with the Gaints.
