Shocking News: Brandon Marshall Has Mental Problems

Brandon Marshall says he was diagnosed earlier this year with borderline personality disorder, which has been known to stem from things such as unstable personal relationships, a negative self-image and a fear of failure. He made the decision to go public with the issue to raise awareness, and says he plans to eventually lobby Congress for funding to assist research efforts.

Yea, no shit Marshall. We kind of picked up on that from your time in Denver. Like remember that time you went out to a club with your buddies Javon Walker and Darrent Williams? Then for some reason Williams got shot.

Remember that time you beat up your girlfriend resulting in the police being called on 11 different occasions? Remember that time you got a DUI?

How about later when you beat up your fiancee? Or how about that time when your girl finally had enough and stabbed you.

But yea, I guess this can all be explained because you have a "borderline" personality disorder. How about you just admit you're a douchebag that puts himself in terrible situations, and that you're a terrible person. Go to hell Marshall I refuse to feel bad for you.

Bad Weekend For Brandon Marshall

While Boston got to sit back and watch the Bruins/Red Sox/Celtics kick ass all weekend, Brandon Marshall had a tough weekend getting stabbed in the stomach by his girlfriend...

"The Miami Dolphins and the rest of the NFL world were stunned over the weekend when news surfaced early on Saturday morning that WR Brandon Marshall had been stabbed and his wife had been arrested in connection with the incident.

Marshall is the victim in this instance but, based on his past, some Dolphins players weren't surprised trouble found Marshall, writes Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald (SBNation)."

Although it is hard to blame someone for getting stabbed Marshall has such a bad track record that I wouldn't be surprised to find out that this was at least in someway his fault. I mean should should never stab someone, but Marshall just always seems to be surrounded by trouble. The Dolphins have come out and said that they have no plans to cut Marshall, but that could change quickly as more and more information to come out.

As for Marshall, he should recover in 2-4 weeks, and be fine if camps ever start.

Brandon Marshall Going To NBA?

Miami Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall says he has a fallback plan if NFL teams lock out players next year... He'll try out for the NBA. Marshall said he would audition for the Miami Heat or Denver Nuggets as a shooting guard.

"Right now I'm rusty," he said after Dolphins' practice Thursday. "Right now I'm no good. If I try out right now they'll be saying, 'What is this guy thinking?' But after some training I'll be fine. I'll be right back where I used to be."

The 6-foot-4 Marshall lettered in basketball three times at Lake Howell High School in Winter Park, Fla (CBS).

Marshall seems like he would have the size and jumping ability to play, but I never know how seriously to take these quotes from athletes. Sure he is a freak, and I can see why a team would want him, but I just don't see him beating out guys who have been playing for their entire life. Then again, if you can just sign him for the minimum why not? I mean he should be able to pull down some boards, and he says his strong suit was his outside shot (which I thought was weird). Anyways, it's a slow day, and I hope Marshall tears his ACL during the tryout.

Brandon Marshall To Dolphins

The Denver Broncos are trading wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the Miami Dolphins for a second-round pick in next week's NFL draft and what league sources say is an additional second-round pick in 2011

This is an excellent signing for the Dolphins and is going to be an impact for the AFC East. I don't think this will put the Dolphins past the Jets, but they will certainly be a more competitive team. Chad Henne isn't a bad qb, and is certainly just as good as Kyle Orton.

This makes me wonder what the Patriots are going to do, because they have seen the Jets get significantly better and the Dolphins have just got better too. Meanwhile they have been twittling their thumbs all offseason. I know they have a lot of picks come draft time, but that won't help them this year.

Trading For Marshall Cheap?

After the Santonio Holmes trade there are rumors that the value of Marshall is in a downward spiral. Santonio Holmes was traded for just a fifth-round pick and his numbers are very comparable to Marshall's...

Santonio Holmes: 79 rec, 1248 yards (15.8 YPC), five TD.
Brandon Marshall: 101 rec, 1120 yards (11.1 YPC), 10 TD.

Obviously, I think Marshall is better, but his trade value, once thought to be a first round pick has to be going down. Marshall is a troubled player, much like Holmes (though Holmes has to deal with a suspension). My thinking is that Marshall will go for a late 2nd or 3rd round pick. If that is the case, and with all the picks the Patriots have, doesn't it make sense to pull the trigger on this deal? The Jets are going all out to win it this year with the additions of Holmes, Cromartie, and maybe even guys like Jason Taylor.

I'd also like to see this happen, because I don't want to see the Patriots waste any draft picks on offense (other maybe offensive line). I want all the picks to go to fixing that defense, and if you add Marshall to this offense you could really spend every pick on the defensive side of the ball. Just a thought, but if I was the Pats it would be hard not to take a look at this.

Moss Expects To Be Gone After 2010

There is a lot being made about Randy Moss' comments that he doesn't think he will be with the Patriots after this season...

"I don't think they are going to extend my contract here," said Moss. I understand the beast, the nature of it. I think that just with what I think and what I know I don't think they're going to re-sign me back. So, after this season if there is not a lockout I'll be looking for a new team. I got a lot of respect for the Patriots and what they did for me and my family. So, the only thing I can do is just play this year out and see what my future holds after that."

"You know the Patriots don't really pay, so when I got my second contract from them that was a blessing in disguise. I understand the business. I don't think they're going to re-sign me back. I'm not mad. I'm not bitter. It's just the way things are in this NFL, so like I said after this year I'll be looking for a new team. I think so (Boston.com)."

I know a lot of people are throwing a fit about this, but I really have no problem at all with it. In my eyes, Moss is just reading the writing on the wall. He is an aging receiver, and the Patriots have a track record of never overpaying for players. He knows that his value is going down every year, and the Patriots will probably try to get younger after this season.

I believe him that he has no animosity towards the Patriots. They resurrected his career, and he will probably still get a sizable contract somewhere else after this season, because of his time here.

The real reason I have no problem with this is because I really don't want Moss back after this season. Not that he isn't a great player, but I think he is going to be able to get more then he is worth on the open market.

The only question now is whether or not the Patriots will deal him before this season even starts. There have been rumors that Brandon Marshall could be traded for a 2nd round pick. If that is the case, the Patriots have 3 of those, so it could lineup nicely.

As to where Moss could be traded to (if it ever goes that route)...Cowboys, Bengals, Vikings, Bears, Ravens, Giants, Redskins, Seahawks would top my list.

Marshall Pulls Hamstring During Practice (UPDATED)

"The CBS affiliate in Denver reports that Broncos WR Brandon Marshall strained his right hamstring in practice Wednesday, throwing his status for Week 17 vs. the Chiefs into the air. Marshall was running a route when he came up limping. Once he was off the field, he was tended to by the team's trainers (CBSSports)."

This would be a disaster for the Broncos who are still fighting for a playoff spot. Either way,I don't see the Broncos making it out of the first round. They haven't been the same team that started 6-0, and they strike me as a team that will just be happy making the playoffs...

***UPDATED***

Several reports say that Marshall will be able to play this week.

Marshall Is Talking New Contract With Broncos

"Despite their stormy relationship, the Denver Broncos are now exploring the possibility of giving a contract extension to wide receiver Brandon Marshall, two league sources ESPN on Wednesday. The potential new deal would put Marshall's salary more in line with some of the game's other highly paid receivers (ESPN)."

Things seemed to have turned around here quickly. Think this is great for both sides, because the Broncos need to show their fans that they are not going to lose all their good players, while Marshall needs to save face after his little hissy fit at practice. Like I said before I think Marshall's production will be down this season, but that will have a lot more to do with Orton as his QB rather then his off the field problems.

Latest On Brandon Marshall

"With all the talk about a trade, including the New York Daily News' take that the Jets' interest in him had waned, info on Brandon Marshall's role in the new Broncos' offense may've been swept aside. The Denver Post fulfills that need, and there's an indication that Marshall might be a bit of a secret weapon against the Bengals. The logic goes that because of Marshall's battle with the team, there's not too much video of him participating, so he could be lining up just about anywhere. As for his attitude adjustment, coach Josh McDaniels responded, "great," when asked to describe his troubled wideout's countenance since reinstatement (ESPN)."

Marshall's stock right now is at an all time low, so it would be stupid for the Broncos to even try to trade him. The best thing for Marshall and the Broncos is for them to put their problems aside and do the best they can this season. In the offseason if Marshall can show that he is healthy, not a distraction, and as good as he was last year then you can start to look around the league and try to trade him.

As for this year. i think his numbers will be down, but that has more to do with Orton as his QB then anything else. I agree that he could go off week 1, because the Bengals have no idea what they are going to do with the talented WR...

Broncos Want LB For Marshall

"The Denver Broncos would want New York Jets linebacker David Harris in any trade scenario for wide receiver Brandon Marshall, two NFL sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Wednesday (ESPN)."

The Broncos have given no indication that they are going to trade Marshall. Josh McDaniels even came out and said that he has no interest in trading the disgruntled WR. Furthermore there is no chance the Jets are going to trade a guy who will most likely lead their team in tackles this year. They also have no interest giving up a 1st round draft pick. So in the end this is just another full of shit story made by the New York media....

Marshall To Jets?

"Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels told a national television audience on Sunday night that keeping Brandon Marshall around was "the end game" for Denver. That may be, but according to what a source has told Bob Glauber of Newsday, the Jets are "seriously considering" making a play for Marshall soon. Coach Rex Ryan has indicated in the past that the team is satisfied with its current receiving corps, but Mark Sanchez' first NFL season will go a lot smoother with a talent like Marshall out there (ESPN)."

I think the best thing the Broncos can do is get rid of him, but only if they can get a 1st round pick. From what I am reading the jets would not give that up for him, which is understandable since Marshall is coming off an injury and acts like a baby. If the Jets could find a way to get this done they would give Sanchez a lot more opportunity to succeed. Still, I don't see it happening, because the Broncos are asking too much, and they have taken so much shit already for trading Cutler...

Wow, Brandon Marshall Is A Cunt

Just watch This

I really don't know what to think of this other than he is just a baby. He admitted he didn't bother with the playbook, and that he doesn't care. He said he wants to be traded, however, who is going to want to trade for this prick if he keeps acting like this. I really want to blame Josh McDaniels, however, I have never seen a grown man act like this before.

Marshall to the Jets?

"One possible destination that keeps popping up in rumors we hear is the New York Jets. Over the weekend, Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News noted that GM Mike Tannenbaum would be looking "under every rock" for some help at wideout, and this would likely include Marshall. Although Cimini had praise for David Clowney after last night's game against the Ravens, Clowney has not had to face the best cornerbacks yet, so the team may want to give him more starts to see what he can do. If that little experiment fails, you can bet that Tannenbaum will be on the phone to Broncos GM Brian Xanders quite soon afterwards (ESPN)."

Marshall is a shithead, but is a top 5 WR talent when he has his head on straight. It is obvious he needs a change of scenery, and the Jets might be a great fit. With a young QB like Sanchez it would certainly help to give him a guy who can make plays. We saw last year that Marshall can make QBs look great even if they are not making the greatest passes. Still, to this point these are all just rumors, and so far there has been little more then phone calls made.

Marshall to Baltimore?

"Pro Football Talk reveals that "rumors are flying in some league circles" that disgruntled wide receiver Brandon Marshall could be traded to the Baltimore Ravens.
Marshall, who might be fined around $35,000 for skipping Denver Broncos minicamp over the weekend, will draw quite a bit of interest if he is officially placed on the block as Jay Cutler was earlier this offseason. But, as The Denver Post notes, other wide receivers with more extensive track records have asked for a trade this offseason and nothing has happened. If a trade is sought, the usual suspects -- the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- could also come calling (ESPN)."

The Broncos are caving much like they caved to Cutler, but to be honest in the long run this could all work out for them. Obviously they will be looking for draft picks in return for Marshall. They already got a ton of those in the Cutler trade, so they really could be stacked. With Orton at QB they aren't going anywhere with or without Marshall. I think Marshall is just another receiver that will have too many off the field problem to be a productive WR for a long time. He is nasty now, but we have seen in the past that these types of players usually self destruct. The main thing is that the Broncos stick by there coach, and in the end this could all work out.

Now, Baltimore does interest me, because they still could use a big play WR. I also think they might have a locker room that will hold him down and not let him get out of control. We will see, but I believe if this got done Ray Lewis would be all over this guy...

NFL Thugs At It Again

Marshall was arrested Sunday in Atlanta and booked into the Atlanta City Jail on a disorderly conduct charge. Details of the events leading to Marshall's arrest are not known at this time. A supervisor at the jail would only tell ESPN's John Barr that Marshall was involved in a fight. ESPN

When will talented NFL players realize that they are making millions of dollars playing a game and not take that for granted. Brandon Marshall is a thug, he has had 2nd, and 3rd chances with the NFL, and the Broncos even suspended him for one game last year. Yet he gets arrested for the fourth time since 2006. Roger Goodell should suspend Marshall for no less than 8 games this season, and put him in a mandatory anger management program. There is no reason to be in a club and to get into a fight if you are Brandon Marshall, that is what bodyguards are for.

***UPDATE***
The case has been tossed. A disorderly conduct charge against Brandon Marshall, who was arrested in Atlanta on Sunday, has been dropped and his case has been dismissed, a source close to the Denver Broncos wide receiver tells ESPN's Michael Smith.

I still believe he should be suspending for being in that situation.

Who's Softer?

Joey Porter
"He's one of those soft receivers, where he has to have the ball all the time. If he don't get it, he's going to mope and cry. He did it to himself," Porter suggested.

Brandon Marshall
"Yeah, Joey Porter's one of them guys, when you got guys who talk a lot of trash, just want to talk about people or put people down, they have their own insecurities," Marshall said. "And his insecurities I don't know. But he's definitely one of those guys who all those muscles are popcorn muscles. He's soft."

I will have to agree with Porter on this one even though I will admit the former Steeler talks a little bit too much. However, he is a really good LB and is proven. Marshall is a shithead who hasn't done anything this year since week 2. Nothing pisses me off more than WR's getting all pissy on the field and Marshall definitely fits the mold.

Popcorn muscles is a cool term though.

Another Waste Of Talent: The Brandon Marshall Story

Almost seems like every week we have to report of an impact NFL player doing something stupid and wasting his talent. Brandon Marshall seems to be the new PacMan Jones, since he just can't his off the field issues out of the newspapers. This time Marshall has misdemeanor battery charges filed against him in Georgia. If you can remember Marshall was suspended for week 1 for a drunk driving arrest, so the NFL will be watching this case very closely. This guy really could be one of the best receivers in the game. Last year Marshall had 102 receptions for 1,325 yards, that is an average of 13 yards per catch, and this year he has only played in one game, but in that one game had 166 yards and a TD. All that talent, and still is seems like he has shit for brains. Hopefully he will figure it out, and go up. He is only 24 years old, but the way the NFL is now, he better watch his back.

Broncos WR Marshall Suspended

ESPN and the NFL Network are reporting "Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall will be suspended for three games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, according to a report on the NFL Network. The report cited NFL sources. It also said the suspension could be trimmed to two games if Marshall agrees to undergo counseling".

Marshall was a very important part to the Broncos team last season, but has been in a lot of trouble, including a drunk driving charge and a domestic violence arrest. He most likely go to the counseling, so it will only be two games, but when a young player missed practice it is never a good thing. This kid has a lot of talent, so hopefully he will get his head straight, but in today's NFL who knows.
