Mickael Pietrus To Celtics?

Mickael Pietrus made some interesting comments that has been hoping he ends up on the Celtics (whenever there is a season)...

"A lot of teams are interested in me, like the Lakers and the Celtics," Pietrus tells L'Equipe via translation from HoopsHype. "This came from the best player in the world: Kobe Bryant. He told me two months ago that he would like to see me with the Lakers."

Obviously the Lakers would seem like the front runners for him, but I hope the Celtics take some interest in this guy. He is a great defensive player, and could be a nice asset as that "wing defender" (that should be on the list yesterday) that the Celtics have been looking for. Not sure why I am a big fan of Pietrus, but it started when the Celtics played the Magic in the playoffs a couple years ago. He just seems like a guy who would fit that "team defense" philosophy the Celtics are so great at. The question is how they would get this done. I would think it would be some kind of sign and trade with Big Baby might get it done.

Steve Nash: Douchebag Or Black Baby? (UPDATED)

During the game last night (March 3rd) it seemed like Nash was trying to get kicked out in the 2nd quarter. His team was getting killed, and he basically just said "Fuck You" roughly 30 times to the ref. I found it odd, because I don't think of Nash being that much of a hothead, then again I can't say I have watched a ton of Phoenix game lately.

Well, I may have found out why is was in a bad mood...

"Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash announced Saturday that he and wife Alejandra are divorcing. Not a big deal, just a normal thing in today's society right? Ah, but here's the twist: The news came just a day after Alejandra gave birth to their son Matteo (Bleacherreport.com)."

What an asshole right? I mean there is nothing lower then leaving your pregnant wife/new born baby. Nash is one of the guys in the NBA I always truly respected, and to hear this is really disappointing.

Then the story took a crazy turn. I have been hearing on SportsHub radio, and there are reports flying through sites like TMZ and Terezowens that he found out the kid wasn't his. How did he know? The kid came out black.

I don't have all the facts yet, so I don't know how true it is. Obviously if the kid isn't his then he should leave the slut, but if the baby is his he is a douchebag. The rumor gets even worse, as the the father (if the baby isn't his) is a former teammate. First name thrown out there was Leandro Barbosa.

"The Phoenix Sun’s Leandro Barbosa was a huge fan favorite and got traded this past summer before the NBA season began and why? Well, rumor has it that it was because he was messing around with Steve Nash’s wife! Supposedly, Barbosa was traded because Nash caught wind of the affair and that’s why Nash all of a sudden got that bizarre divorce after his wife had their baby! He realized that the child wasn’t his and then decided to split from her immediately after the birth (CBS local)!

Holy shit.... We'll keep you posted.

***UPDATE***

Alejandra unfortunately finds it imperative to publicly dispel those rumors for the future protection of her family. Alejandra stated, “While my children certainly cannot read about this today, I have to assume these horrible mistruths may someday be shared and therefore I must vehemently defend and protect my children. Matteo was a planned addition to our family. We were both excited to have a little boy.

“Steve is a committed and loving father to all three of our children, and we continue to focus on their best interests and on providing them supportive and loving home environments.”

The decision to separate late last August was in no way related to their children, or Matteo’s paternity, said Alejandra Nash (Buinesswire.com).

Thank you to the people who commented, and led us to this site. Once again, I don't know this site that well, and I can't certify that it's 100% true, but if he left his wife right after she had a kid then he is a Douchebag, and I lost a lot of respect for him.

115 Celtics, 103 Suns

Sure the Celtics blew a 29 point lead, sure the 2nd unit got toasted, sure Troy Murphy didn't do much, but boy this was a fun game to watch.

These two teams hate each other from the whole nut tap incident and it was very relevant throughout the game and especially at the end.

KG maybe had his best game this year going 28 points, 12-14FG, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, his mission was to destroy Channing Frye.... mission accomplished. Rajon led the offense beautifully in the second and third, the ball movement was really impressive and was completely in sync. Rondo had 16 points, 15 assists, including a would be fuck you 3 at the end of the game but was fouled by Jared Dudley.

Though there was a scary moment in the game when Glen Davis had an uncontested dunk and when he came down was limping. We all know what that means... trouble. It's been updated that Baby has a left knee patella strain. Doesn't sound that great of news and there is nothing the Celtics need less then another injury. I'd imagine he will be out a couple games.

Barring awful news from Big Baby it was a great win.

Suns @ Celtics Preview

The new look Celtics get back at it tonight against the suddenly surging Suns. The Suns are riding a 4 game winning streak, two of which are from Channing Frye's game-winning shots, which has put them back in the race for the playoffs in the Western Conference (currently 1 game back from the 8th seed). The Celtics have every reason to be concerned going into this game. The Suns have beat them 3 straight times, and like I had just said are on a roll.

Still, only the Bulls have played as well at home as the Celtics do, and I think the crowd is going to be electric tonight. Plus, one would think that Green will finally have a practice under his belt, now that they are at home, and my hope is that we see SOMETHING from him, because thus far he has been anything but impressive. Way too early to judge that trade, but I just want to see SOMETHING that shows me he is going to fit in well here.

The key to the game could be keeping the Suns under 100 points. If that happens the Celtics will win easily (Phoenix is 1-10 away from home when it scores fewer than 100 points), but that is much easier said then done. The Suns also have a lot of motivation on their side with their playoffs hopes in the air, and the whole KG groin tap thing that happened last time.

I think Boston wins tonight, but I don't think it will be easy. The Celtics are still in the mode of molding this team back together, and that could mean problems on the defensive end against a very explosive team.

Celtics @ Suns Preview

Like "true" point guards, then you're going to love this game tonight as Steve Nash goes head to head with Rajon Rondo. Rondo leads the league with 12.7 assists per game, while Nash is second with 11.0, but the difference tonight will be Rondo's defense compared to Nash's. Rondo has the ability to slow down Nash, but I don't see anyway that Nash is going to be able to stay with Rondo, and that will be the difference in this game.

The Suns have lost 3 in a row, and aren't that great of a home team (11-10). Still, I have a bad feeling that this game is going to be a lot closer then it should be. I have always said that the Celtics one weakness is speed. Other then Rondo there are no guys that really can run in their starting 5. This could be a problem, especially if the Celtics decide to "play down to their competition" like they have shown a habit to do this year.

I think that the Celtics will be able to make a push late in the game to beat the Suns, but don't be surprised if this game is REALLY close. There is still no word to whether or not Pierce will play tonight with that bruised knee. If he doesn't play I think it could be a tough game for the Celtics tonight, but I'll assume he'll tough it out and play.

Celtics win 109-105

Magic Blow Up Their Roster Epically

Otis Smith decided he would be the owner of bold moves as he shipped Rashard Lewis to the Washington Wizards for Gilbert Arenas on Saturday.

That trade followed news of a deal that shipped Vince Carter to the Phoenix Suns in a six-player swap that returns Hedo Turkoglu to the Magic.

The Magic also get Jason Richardson and Earl Clark from the Suns in exchange for Carter, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, a 2011 first-round pick and cash considerations.

I don't get it, or like it. I know the Magic were kind of stale with the team they had but is this team really better? Rashard Lewis definitely didn't live up to his contract but is shipping him for a guy who has played only 60 something games since the 07 -08 season really help your team. Remember, aside from the "gun incident" Gilbert Arenas hasn't been able to be healthy. I don't understand why Otis Smith needed to take this jump and give up Rashard Lewis who gave the Magic size and perimeter shooting and most importantly he gave KG a lot of trouble on the defensive end.

Then Otis Smith is assuming Hedo is the same player that they let go years back while giving up your best perimeter defender, back up canter and a scorer. I don't like it. Sure Jason Richardson is a great scorer and will be a hell of a 6th man, but they are reaching here.

I see this move hurting the Magic more than helping them. Dwight Howard already gets in a lot of foul trouble and now they basically formed a funnel that all teams will use to get Howard in trouble. Now that their is no Pietris all teams will be living in the paint and having Howard to be a lot more active on the defensive end which will lead to more fouls.

This is/will come back to bite the Magic especially now that they don't have size or a decent back up at center.

Suns Make A Bunch Of Moves

The first trade they made was sending guard Leandro Barbosa and forward Dwayne Jones to the Raptors for Turkoglu and then sending Dwayne Jones to Charlotte for Boris Diaw. The Second deal was acquiring Josh Smith's rights from the Hawks.

So this offseason the Suns lost Amare and gained Hedo, Hakim Warrick, Boris Diaw and re-signed Channing Frye. It's going to be weird to see how that team works together, but with Steve nash they will find the way. In the meantime, look for the Raptors to get the number 1 pick, as they are going to fucking blow donkey balls.

Amare To Knicks

Amare Stoudemire went to the Knicks yesterday on a 5 year 100 million dollar deal. I think they overpayed for the big man (figuring if you matched the stats from last year Amare had 23 points and 9 boards and David Lee had 20 points and 12 boards for half the price) but the Knicks were obligated to spend big on someone especially since they wasted the last 2 seasons clearing cap space.

Stoudemire once thrived in a Mike D'Antoni run and gun system and if you match him with a decent PG it will make everyones life that much easier. Amare has already made a call to Melo and Tony Parker to come join him, and if that somehow happens the Knicks could easily jump to a 2 or 3 seed. It will be very interesting on how the Knicks fill out the rest of the roster but at least Amare is a start.

Breaking News: Suns Sign Hakim Warrick

Suns agreed to terms on a four-year, $18 million deal with free agent forward Hakim Warrick, according to multiple sources. This could be the final nail in the coffin for the Amare Stoudemire era in Phoenix.

Warrick isn't a great player, but he could eat up some of the blocks the Suns are used to getting from Amare. I always liked Warrick, but I also thought he would be a lot better then he is. Basically, this just means the Suns are in a lot of trouble next year, and the West is a complete fucking joke other then the Lakers (and maybe Nuggets?).

Amare Stoudemire Leaving Suns

Suns owner Robert Sarver and coach Alvin Gentry will make final pitch to Amare Stoudemire at meeting in L.A. tomorrow, but rumor has it the Suns are unwilling to give him a max contract, and Amare is unwilling to sign for anything less. Stoudemire also has concerns that the Suns won't make the financial commitment in to win a Championship. Add that all up and it looks like he is out the door.

My guess is that he goes to the Heat. He would be a nice addition to a team that should have Wade back. Also, he owns a place in Miami, so that could make it very convenient. Another rumor is that he could go to the Knicks to reunite with Mike D'Anonti.

Amare To Suns: "Sign Me Long Term Or I'm Out"

Amare Stoudemire will opt out of the final year of his contract if he doesn't re-sign with the Phoenix Suns before the deadline at the end of this month. He is looking for a max deal for 6 years that would be worth $127 million.

Maybe I am the only one, but I don't think I would give that to him. He doesn't play defense, he's not that long removed from microfracture and retina surgery, and there are really only a couple players I would give that deal to (Lebron, Wade, Howard, Durant, Kobe).

Still, this puts the Suns in a tough spot. They really can't afford to lose him, but at the same time they could roll the dice and try to land other big free agents if he was to leave. I have a weird feeling that we have seen Amare's last game in a Suns' uniform.

115 Suns, 106 Lakers

Well ladies and gents, it looks like we got ourselves a series. If the Celtics can closeout the series tonight then it will mean they can get a little rest. But the Suns did what they were supposed to do by winning their home games. If they can steal one on the road who knows what will happen. I'll tell you what, I thought the Suns weren't going to win a game this series so this is all very surprising to me.

This game has to go to the Suns bench who outscored their Laker counterparts 54 to 20. Again, Kobe Bryant had a great game with 38 points and 10 assists but that all goes to waste with them losing the game.

Either way if these two teams keep beating each other up it will greatly benefit the Celtics who are also getting beat up in the Magic series.

Here is a True Story About A Mom

Talk about a bad time to get a DUI:
Carrie Mae Stoudemire, 54, was stopped at 3:25 p.m. after her Lincoln Navigator was straddling two lanes and going 60 mph, according to the Scottsdale police report. Her eyes were "watery and glassy," according to the officer. ESPN

This has to be somewhat of a distraction for Amare (who has been exchanging barbs with Lamar Odom) and the Phoenix Suns who are already down 0-1 to the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals (why is that pluralized). But this goes back to the old statistics I was talking about when I talked before. Amare's mom has been in and out of jail his whole career for drunk driving, prostitution and drug possession (crack). So it's good to see he made it out of that lifestyle.

Heat Trying Everything To Get Amare Stoudemire

There are many teams rumored to be going after Amare (Philly, Pistons, Nets, Chicago, Washington, Cleveland, Sacramento), but it is the Heat who really seem to be making a move to land him. The Heat are rumored to have offered combinations of young talent in Michael Beasley and Dorell Wright along with the expiring contracts of Quentin Richardson and Jermaine O'Neal, and also their first-round pick in this year's draft.

The Suns are getting rid of Amare, because they really don't think they can resign him. The Heat will have lots of space this offseason, so the deal kind of makes sense. I would totally do this if I was the Suns. Beasley is a hell of a young talent, and on top of that you get some expiring contract (not to mention a draft pick)? Seems like a great deal to me. To be honest I think the Heat would be giving up too much in that deal, but I can't argue that the combination of Amare and Wade terrifies me.

Suns 116 Celtics 98

Don't read into this game too much. Boston was playing without their best two players (Pierce, Garnett). You add that to the fact they are already missing Glen Davis and Marquis Daniels, you got yourself a problem.

So here is the good news. The 2 players I hate on the Celtics (Tony Allen and Shelden Williams) had good game. Allen logged in 32 mins putting up 12 points with 6 assists and 5 boards. The only knock you could have on him was his fouls, but you can chalk that up to the number of mins he had to play. Williams added 14 points of his own and 5 board in only 19 mins. Perkins also had a solid game with 13 points 7 boards, but 1-5 from the free throw line is unacceptable.

The bad news centered around the play of Rasheed Wallace. He was invisible during this game. He only put up 6 points in 31 mins of playing time. Boston really needed him to step up to have any shot at this game, but once again you can't read too much into this game when you are missing 4 really good players. So relax Celtics fans and wait till they are healthy...

Celtics vs Suns Preview

Losers of two straight games, the Boston Celtics could be without Kevin Garnett (sore right knee) for Wednesday night's game against the Phoenix Suns, and perhaps longer.

The Celtics already will be shorthanded against the Suns. They will be without Glen Davis (mild right ankle sprain) and Paul Pierce (right knee) and could also be missing Rajon Rondo, who is questionable with a sore left hamstring.

Here is my pregame:
Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, Celtics playing at Phoenix, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, Rajon is injured, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, Steve Nash, Amarie Stoudimire, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, Eddie House, Tony Allen, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, Celtics find a way to win.

Celtics vs Suns Preview

The Celtics are looking to go 7-0 against the Suns tonight at home. The Suns are a surprising 4-1 on the season and look to hand Boston their first loss. The match ups are:
PG S. Nash R. Rondo
SG J. Richardson R. Allen
SF G. Hill P. Pierce
PF A. Stoudemire K. Garnett
C C. Frye K. Perkins

Well for the PG match up this is all I gotta say:

I like Steve Nash, but his old bones are not going to keep up with Rondo. Which means this will not only mean he is going to need help and that is going to free up one of our other stars. I expect at least 10 points and 10 assists tonight.

SG:
Jason Richardson vs Ray Allen will be interesting both like to shoot threes, but also Richardson lacks defense also.

SF:
I hope Pierce eats Grant Hill alive. Hill chose Phoenix over Boston this offseason and hope he drops 30 on them and makes him regret taking money over winning.

PF:
Stoudemire ve KG
Amare is a hell of a player, and so is KG. If anyone has the best chance to go off is Amare Stoudemire. He is a beast down low and his physical play could be too much for KG and Rasheed.

C:
Frye has had a great season thus far but lacks the size and bulk that Perk does. I believe Perk's defense, shuts him down.

Celtics 110-92

Nash Accepts Suns' Extension

"Steve Nash has notified the Phoenix Suns that he is accepting their two-year extension offer worth an estimated $22 million, according to team sources (ESPN)."

I don't think the Suns are going to do shit next year, and to be honest the best move would probably to let Nash go, and pick up a high draft pick after a terrible season. Still, in the end it is all about selling tickets can Nash puts fans in the seats, so it isn't a bad move for the Suns, and maybe they can take advantage of the ridiculous free agent class next offseason.

Suns Bid To Keep Hill

There have been a lot of rumors around where Hill might play next year. Here is the latest...

"The New York Knicks offered Grant Hill the option of accepting a one-year, $5M deal or a three-year, $10M deal earlier this week. In response to those offers The Arizona Republic reports Suns managing partner Robert Sarver, general manager Steve Kerr and coach Alvin Gentry traveled to Orlando to meet with Hill on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The newspaper also reports Steve Nash called Hill to help in the recruiting process. The Suns, according to The New York Times, initially asked Hill to take the veterans' minimum of $1.2M, but later increased it to $2M, then bumped it to $3M after the Knicks made their offer (ESPN)."

Money wise the Celtics have no shot. They can only offer just under $2 million. You would think if the Suns can give him a 2 year deal worth about $6 million then he would chose the Suns over the Knicks. I said it before and I'll say it again....we will really see what Hill's focus is on. Money or Championships? The Celtics give him the best chance by far to get a ring. The Suns are a decent team, but they aren't going to win it, and the Knicks just suck. So, if the Celtics really want him they should get that Pierce, KG, Allen, Doc, and Ainge jet ready...

A decision is expected sometime over the next 2 weeks.

Amare Stoudemire To Timberwolves? (UPDATED)

"An NBA executive told The Boston Globe on Wednesday that the Minnesota Timberwolves are working on a deal that would send Al Jefferson and the No. 6 pick in next week's NBA draft to the Phoenix Suns for Amare Stoudemire (ESPN)."

It is an interesting deal, but if I was the Suns I still don't think I would do it. I am not that high on this year's draft class (other then the top pick), and Big Al is just too fragile. The Suns would like to move Stoudemire, but they also don't want to sell themselves short. There will be a lot of rumors, and I believe this one. I just don't see the Timberwolves being able to pull it off.

***UPDATE***

It looks like it was the Suns that were actually trying to pull off this deal and were turned down by the Timberwolves....yea I am shocked too.

"Another source said today that the Suns made the trade offer to the Wolves recently and were turned down. The source added that the Wolves new general manager David Kahn has even called Jefferson, an ex-Celtic, to tell him the trade would not happen. As for Stoudemire, the cost-cutting Suns definitely seem interesting in moving him and his hefty salary (Boston.com).
