Michael Beasley Doesn't Get It

Beasley was ticketed for possessing marijuana and speeding in the Minneapolis suburb of Minnetonka last week, police said on Wednesday.

Capt. Scott Boerboom said that an officer stopped Beasley around 3 a.m. on June 26 on Interstate 394 after clocking him going 84 mph in a 65 mph zone. He said the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.

The officer allegedly found 16.2 grams of the drug in a plastic bag under the front passenger seat of Beasley's car. Beasley told police the marijuana was not his, but belonged to a friend whom he had just dropped off. According to the report, Beasley cursed when an officer pulled out the bag.

The possession charge is a petty misdemeanor that carries a fine of $128.

last year, I thought the former 2nd round pick turned the corner in Minnesota, but apparently he is just a bigger shit head than I thought. Drugs have always run rampant in his career, and was even forced to go to rehab, so seeing he just had 16 grams of pot isn't really encouraging. As for consequences, none will happen because there will be no testing enforced during the lock out, so it doesn't matter.

Beasley I feel could be a great player in the NBA, I mean he averaged 19 points a game last year and if he focuses on his head and defense, I don't see why he couldn't be an all star one day.

Beasley Ditches Pot For Greatness

The Timberwolves were finally the team that ended up grabbing Michael Beasley when the Heat had to ditch him for LeFag & Co. No one really paid attention to it, because most people think Beasley is a clown, and will never do anything. Well, Timberwolves team president David Kahn had an interesting thought on the matter...

"He's a very young and immature kid who smoked too much marijuana and has told me that he's not smoking anymore," team president David Kahn said in an interview on KSTP-AM, "and I told him that I would trust him as long as that was the case."

Ok, well it's never a very good sign when one of your best players on your team is a pothead, but who am I to judge. To be honest, I kind of believe in Beasley. He wasn't as bad as people made him out to be over the past two seasons (14.3 points per game and 5.9 rebounds), and is still only 21 years old. I think he might actually breakout with the Wolves, since he should be a main part of the offense. Then again, if I had to live and play in Minnesota I'd probably smoke a ton of pot.

Best part of this whole things is that their president is named Khan...

Heat Make More Moves

Everyone and their mother will be talking about Lebron today, but the Heat have gone out and made more moves today. They're shipping Michael Beasley to the Timberwolves and agreeing with Wizards free agent Mike Miller on a five-year, $30 million deal. Miami virtually gives away Beasley, the 2008 No. 2 overall draft pick, receiving only a second-round pick and an exchange of first-round picks so that it can get needed cap space.

We all knew Beasley was on his way out, but I have to say I like this for the Timberwolves. I know Beasley has been a shithead, but maybe now that he is out of Miami and off to the great state of Minnesota, things will calm down for him.

The Heat get much needed cap space, and a nice outside shooter in Mike Miller. He could find himself with a lot of open looks with Lefag, Wade, and Bosh taking most (if not all) the focus from the opposing defenses.

Heat Trying Everything To Get Amare Stoudemire

There are many teams rumored to be going after Amare (Philly, Pistons, Nets, Chicago, Washington, Cleveland, Sacramento), but it is the Heat who really seem to be making a move to land him. The Heat are rumored to have offered combinations of young talent in Michael Beasley and Dorell Wright along with the expiring contracts of Quentin Richardson and Jermaine O'Neal, and also their first-round pick in this year's draft.

The Suns are getting rid of Amare, because they really don't think they can resign him. The Heat will have lots of space this offseason, so the deal kind of makes sense. I would totally do this if I was the Suns. Beasley is a hell of a young talent, and on top of that you get some expiring contract (not to mention a draft pick)? Seems like a great deal to me. To be honest I think the Heat would be giving up too much in that deal, but I can't argue that the combination of Amare and Wade terrifies me.

Michael Beasley Is Super Cool Beas, Checks Into Rehab

I would really like to hate Michael Beasley, however, he does do a lot of awesome things, like love SpongeBob Squarepants, sleep with a giant Spongebob stuffed animal, and now he gets a pretty radical tattoo saying Super Cool Beas with glasses hanging down from the Super part.

***UPDATE***

Kinda funny twist to this story....

"A person briefed on the situation says Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley is battling depression-related issues and is being treated at a Houston rehabilitation facility. Beasley checked into the facility last week, the person told the Associated Press on Monday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity citing of privacy concerns (Sportsline)."

There are a lot of reports that say it is really for drugs. I guess Spongebob is a lot cooler on drugs...

One of our readers caught something

Jesus Shuttlesworth says...

look at the picture, check out the bottom right hand corner of the pic...

...hmmm, rehab for depression, huh? cause that looks like some weed and coke/pills...

Michael Beasley Is FINE

In the same incident that got Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur kicked out of the rookie program and then fined 20K for having a scent of pot in their room and women everywhere, Michael Beasley just got fined 50K for his involvement as well. I guess Beasley failed to cooperate with the league investigation, but eventually chose to to tell everyone he was part of the event.

My opinion is so what. So what if Michael Beasley, Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur want to nail some chicks while smoking some pot, they are in the NBA. Isn't that what staying clean in college and trying a couple season supposed to bring you. If anything, I believe the NBA should be judged here for being a ruiner of fun.

With The 2nd Pick In The 2008 NBA Draft, The Heat Select...

The Miami heat don't care all that much that Rose is off the board. Even though they would have preferred Rose, Beasley is a very solid player and when teamed up with Shawn Marion, they could be a deadly duo.

Beasley is 6-8 and about 240 lbs., he has range all day(for you people who don't know my lingo, that means he has good range) and can post up extremely well. He willed K-State to the tournament and past USC (with a little help from Bill Walker) and is an unbelievable talent. He kind of reminds me of a bigger Carmelo Anthony. The only problem I see with him is his size. He'll have to move to the SF position rather than the PF position which he played in college, but his range should more than adequate with that. He is an excellent defender and a great rebounder on both ends of the court. If not for a great tournament by Rose, Beasley would be the clear cut number 1 pick.

Michael Beasley Going Pro

Coach Frank Martin believes Michael Beasley is going pro after his amazing freshman season. Duh, no shit. He probably knew that the third week into his first semester at Kansas State about the same time he realized Film 101 was for the birds. He's a stud that'll make an immediate impact to any team he gets drafted by. Worse case scenario: he's a more offensive Kurt Thomas.
