Steve Williams Pitchin' A Fit

Well, there won't be any more awkward high-fives. Not really sure why this is such a huge story. Yea, yea I know...they've been together for over 12 years and Tiger won 13 of his 14 majors with Stevie on the bag. But come on! It's a G damn caddie for crying out loud. Everyone is acting like Steve Williams made Tiger Woods. Nah. It's the other way around, folks. If any other player fires their caddie - which happens all the time on tour - it gets a little blurb in the paper.

Stevie isn't reacting so well to the whole thing, and is teetering on the edge of throwing darts at Tiger on his way out the door. From a statement on Williams' website (he has a website???)

Following the completion of the AT&T National I am no longer caddying for Tiger after he informed me that he needed to make a change. After 13 years of loyal service needless to say this came as a shock.

Not exactly how you want to handle that change if you're Steve Williams. It looks pathetic. How long before this guy goes all "JetBlue" on us and just does a drunken interview ripping on Tiger. I get that he was probably shocked, but he maybe should have seen it coming when he began caddying for Adam Scott during Tiger's absence.

I know I saw it coming. If you're the caddy for the best golfer in the world, you don't ask him if you can work for someone else while he's hurt. I think Tiger saw that as a sign of Steve not being entirely on his side. Couple that with some off-handed comments made in the last 2 years about Tiger letting down his family and what not, and you've got a recipe for getting your ass fired.

Ultimately, this shouldn't change to much, though I am fascinated to see who Tiger gets on his bag next.

Also, you gotta wonder if Steve Williams is gonna get a book deal or something. I doubt it but you never know. He denies being in the know of Tiger's extramarital affairs, but who knows if that is really the case. Even without that stuff I'm sure he could write a shitty expose that a lot of people would read.

Open Championship Review

The Open Championship, held last week at Royal St. George's in Sandwich, England was the third of the 4 Majors on the PGA Tour. However, the only thing major about the tournament was that it was a major disappointment.

Sure we had the sentimental winner in Darren Clarke - another Major winner from Northern Ireland - who lost his wife to cancer a number of years ago, and has been a good golfer for a while now but never hoisted a Major championship trophy. Clarke battled through stretches of bad weather all week to come out on top.

His was a nice storyline, but to me it wasn't the biggest story of the week. Two big stories emerged as the week wore on. The first is that golf has become increasingly boring as Tiger's absence from the tour continues. His lack of presence was the elephant in the room all week. Golf just doesn't feel the same. No matter how much the people behind the curtain at the PGA Tour try to get me pumped up about guys like Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler, Hunter Mahan and the like, I just can't do it. At some point these guys have to do something for me to get excited about. Truth be told, Fowler had a nice week and finished in the top 5. But Johnson had another choke job in the final holes of a major as he dumped his 2nd shot out of bounds on 14. I don't even know where the others finished - which isn't a good sign.

Mickelson made a late charge but then reverted back to his usual Open Championship style and after getting to -6 and sharing the lead, finished the rest of his round +4 to end at -2 and T3. Even a Mickelson win, though, would not have saved this tournament for me. It would have been a better outcome for American golf, obviously. But it still wouldn't drive ratings. There's still only one guy that can do that.

The other story line from this week was what a whiny bitch Rory McIlroy turned into on Sunday. He struggled all week in the bad weather, and his shot selection was very questionable. Coming off his big win at the U.S. Open, everyone - himself included - expected more. But it was his remarks after the tournament that were disheartening for Rory fans.

"I'm not a fan of golf tournaments where the outcome is predicted so much by the weather. It's not my sort of golf."

"...there's no point in changing your game for one week a year."

"My game is suited basically for every golf course and most conditions but I don't enjoy playing in these conditions, really. I'd rather play when it's 80 degrees and sunny and there's not much wind."

Wow. You can't have your cake and eat it too, Rors. Those comments just come off as petty and spoiled and quite frankly remind me of something Sergio Garcia would have said in his younger years. He was pampered and protected and look where that got him. McIlroy is too good to have that kind of attitude. Does it suck that some guys get stuck in the bad weather and other guys get some calm conditions? Yes. But can you dig down deep and compete? Yes. And how about how those comments sort of throw his fellow countryman and winner Darren Clarke under the bus? He competed in the bad weather and won. So what are you saying? He just "lucked out"?

McIlroy, who already passed on a number of big tournaments in the U.S. - including TPC Sawgrass - isn't doing himself any favors with the U.S. fans. If this guy is supposed to fill Tiger's shoes I think we're all in trouble. If there's one thing Americans don't appreciate it is a whiny European. McIlroy is in need of an attitude adjustment - and I for one am hoping that Tiger returns to give it to him. Something tells me he's sitting at home rehabbing and just licking his chops at getting a shot at this kid.

Story That Should Be Getting More Attention

"A Canadian sports doctor (Dr. Anthony Galea) whose high-profile clients have included Tiger Woods and Alex Rodriguez pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday to bringing into the United States unapproved drugs, including human growth hormone, that were used to treat professional athletes (Boston Herald)."

I find it very odd that this story is getting no media attention. We ripped apary A-Rod for his steroid use, and yet Tiger Woods gets to walk away from this without really any notice. We were all wondering all those years how Tiger could drive so far, and be so good, could this be the answer? Could this be the reason he is having all these injuries now? I am starting to think so.

I Really Hope This Isn't True Tiger

"Golf great Tiger Woods reportedly is still obsessed with his gorgeous ex-wife, Swedish stunner Elin Nordegren—allegedly resorting to ransacking her home to read her diary. The National Enquirer reports that Nordegren told friends that Woods snuck into her Florida home over Thanksgiving last year, with the sole intent of finding her journals to find out details about her love life.

“I feel violated!” the Enquirer reports Nordegren as saying. “I’m totally creeped out by it. He has absolutely no right to be in my home! I don’t want him sneaking around, searching through my drawers and cupboards and trying to find my diaries.”

Woods was able to sneak into his ex’s home by doing some fast-talking with the household staff, according to the magazine. Nordegren allegedly told her friend, “He used the excuse that their kids had left some things that he had to pick up.” Nordegren has kept the journals since at least 2001, detailing every private moment of her life, the Enquirer reported. Woods allegedly was upset over the possibility that Nordegren has moved on with her life—and was perhaps even seeing a new man.

“Tiger never wanted the divorce, and since they split up, he has been very jealous and possessive about Elin,” a source told the Enquirer. “She told a friend, ‘I feel like he’s stalking me! Our marriage is over—can’t he accept that?’ I just want to move on with my life and he won’t leave me alone!’"

The National Enquirer broke the story of Tiger Woods' alleged affair with Rachel Uchitel in the weeks preceeding his Thanksgiving 2009 car accident, after which tales of multiple affairs arose (FoxNews)."

I am not one to take National Enquirer stories seriously, but if this is true it'll be the end of Tiger Woods. So far, it doesn't sound like their will be charges, and alone could be a reason to think this story is false. But if it somehow turns out to be true Tiger is going to lose the rest of his endorsements, and you'd have to wonder how much more the PGA would take. With him not winning anymore the PGA is taking a lot of hits, and this could be a killer if Tiger goes all O.J. on them.

Tiger Woods Sex Tape Is Fake

Well something finally went Tiger's way...

"A sex tape purporting to feature the golf great actually stars a third-rate Philadelphia boxer paid to pose as Woods, the stand-in said yesterday (FoxNews)."

I have to admit I really thought there was a good shot this was real, since there were just so many girls, and this day in age it seems like it always happens, but I also have to say I'm glad it's not. Tiger has been through enough, he has paid dearly for his mistakes, and it's time to move on. This girl is just like the rest, just some slut looking for a payday. That's why they come out and say they had sex with him, it's just another couple seconds of fame.

Hopefully this will be the end of it, but let's be honest... it probably isn't.

Here Comes A Tiger Woods Sex Tape

We all knew this was coming...

"One of Tiger Woods' alleged mistresses is shopping an alleged sex tape she says she made with Tiger Woods.

"The tape is 62 minutes long and 37 minutes of it is us having sex," Devon James told RadarOnline.com on Wednesday, placing its value at $350,000.

James said she was meeting with adult video distributor Vivid Entertainment to talk turkey (FoxNews)."

I am surprised it has taken this long. I feel bad for Tiger he has paid enough for his sins, and I wish everyone would just let him be. He might get lucky since this skank's mom says she is a pathological liar, and that she never had a relationship with Tiger. If you can remember this is the same bitch that said Tiger was the father of her kid, which a judge threw out.

I would be surprised if there isn't a tape out there though. I mean with all those chicks looking to make money, you know someone taped something.

Tigers Wife Is Starting To Talk

I can tell you what this is the first time I heard anything from Elin Nordegren and I'm already sick of her. What Tiger did to her and the kids was wrong, and blah, blah, blah, but she needs to realize she's really effecting how much I care about golf. I root for Tiger and will continue to root for Tiger regardless if "you went through hell" or not. I guess I'm not very sympathetic to her because she's going to be making hundreds of millions of dollars for being a trophy wife. And if anyone tells me "it's more than that, parenting is a full time job" i'll slap them in the face. Fuck off, and tell that to the majority of American families where both parents actually work.

Here are some quotes if you care:
"There was never any violence inside or outside our home," she said. "The speculation that I would have used a golf club to hit him is just truly ridiculous." (BS)

"I've been through hell," she said. "It's hard to think you have this life, and then all of a sudden -- was it a lie? You're struggling because it wasn't real. But I survived. It was hard, but it didn't kill me." (BS)

"I'm so embarrassed that I never suspected -- not a one. For the past 3½ years, when all this was going on, I was home a lot more with pregnancies, then the children and my school." (fuck off)\

It sucks for Tiger because no matter what she says he can't dispute it.

Stop ruining golf Elin!

Hoes be trippin defense.

PGA Championship Round One Wrap

Round one is in the books following a lengthy fog delay. Who knew there was fog in Wisconsin? I guess it is along Lake Michigan, so that can happen.
Things are not looking too good for most of my top 5 predictions after 1 round, but they're certainly not out of it.

Bubba Watson sits atop the leader board heading in to round two at -4. Francisco Molinari, Ernie Els, Matt Kuchar and Nick Watney also share that lead.

I kinda feel bad for Bubba, because after his excellent round he went in to do his press conference and all the media wanted to talk about was the struggles this guy has had in dealing with his cancer-stricken father and his wife whom they believed had cancer (turned out to be false) in the past year. The poor guy is trying to think about golf and winning a major and here he is breaking down in tears after a round one leading performance. My bet is that he falls on his face today, but I hope not. He did have a great one-liner though. "I hope you all don't think I'm a sissy. I do hit the ball a long ways!"

41 other players managed a sub-par round, including Tiger Woods who sits at -1. He had a nice start to his round but missed a few scoring opportunities as the day wore on.

Tiger has been working closely the last few weeks with Sean Foley, a young swing coach. This is something to keep an eye on as many think Tiger will soon make him his official swing coach. El Tigre has been ridin' solo since firing Hank Heaney.

As for my top 5 predictions

O'Hair - +2
Stricker - -1
Johnson - -1
Overton - +2
Mahan - +1

I feel good that I didn't pick guys that went out there and stunk up the joint, but they all need nice second rounds in order to really get into contention.

PGA Championship Preview - Can Tiger turn around his year?

Thursday marks the beginning of the PGA Championship, the final Major and last leg of golf's grand slam events. The PGA Championship has always been a distant relative of the other big three tournaments, unless a player is chasing the Grand Slam which hasn't happened in quite a while. Last year we saw, Y.E. Yang take his 15 minutes of fame beating Tiger Woods down the stretch on Sunday at Hazeltine. (This was pre-Thanksgiving Tiger...my how things have changed.)

The PGA Championship has always been a favorite of mine, often showcasing some of America's great, more unheralded golf courses. The aforementioned Hazeltine is a beauty, as are Medinah, Oak Hill and Valhalla. Let's not forget Winged Foot either.

This year is no different with Whistling Straits, located along Lake Michigan in Wisconsin. If you've never seen the course before, check it out. It is a real treat. It is a course designed by Pete Dye, of TPC Sawgrass fame, among many other gems. The Straits course, where the tournament will be played, very much resembles a course you might find in the U.K. or Ireland, nestled along a two mile stretch of the coast along Lake Michigan. It features, grassy dunes, DEEP bunkers and contoured greens. At 7,514 yards it is the 2nd longest course to ever host a major championship. Only an all-around golfer will do well here.

Which brings us to Tiger Woods, the lightning rod of golf. He came up during a recent chat I was having with DP, and I mentioned that I've begun to lose confidence in the guy. DP believes he will be fine, but I'm not so sure. The man's whole persona is gone. He used to be such an intimidating force. Other players used to fear him - even 10 strokes back heading into a weekend. As far as chasing down Jack Nicklaus, I don't think it is possible any more. He as much as intimated last week that golf isn't as important to him anymore. Take that with a grain of salt, but it did come out of his mouth. This season was a big one for him, as far as the record goes. Both Open Championships were at two of his favorite courses, in Pebble Beach and St. Andrew's, and he didn't perform to expectation. You factor in the disaster that was his 18+ finish last week, at a course where he ALWAYS plays very well, and it is safe to say that 2010 is probably a huge wash. Some have even gone as far as to suggest that he suffers from Ian Baker-Finch syndrome. Baker-Finch was a golfer who enjoyed great success, winning a major and then fell on his face... Knoblauch style. Let's get one thing straight. Woods is no Baker-Finch. 14 majors make that argument. But, I don't think we're looking at the same guy any more, and I'm seriously having doubts about him winning many more majors. But, I'm curious to know what others think. Feel free to leave comments.
P.S. I don't think he'll help the Ryder Cup team, unless he proves to be his old self this week. Mr. Pavin...leave him off the team!

PGA predictions:

The sexy pick heading into the week is Rory McIlroy who played well enough to win at St Andrew's, outside of a terrible round 2. He's got the game suited to this style of course but I just don't think he's ready this year. Next year I think he'll bag a major. Not yet, though.

I'm going with Sean O'Hair, a young golfer who is experiencing a bit of a break out this year, even if it is past due. This is the player you'll remember who was supposed to be the next Tiger quite a few years back. He had an ugly relationship with his father who made him sign a contract promising a portion of his future earnings on tour...Joe Jackson style. O'Hair - who doesn't speak with his father - has found a new lease on life and has found his golf game again as well. He had a share of the lead heading into Sunday at the Bridgestone, and finished Top 12 at both Pebble and St Andrew's. I think he's ready, and he's definitely got the game.

Rounding out my top 5 will be...

Sean O'Hair (ready to take the next step?)
Steve Stricker (hometown boy)
Dustin Johnson (long bomber, but also shows accuracy)
Jeff Overton (3rd in all-around ranking on tour)
Hunter Mahan (my new favorite golfer now that Tiger sucks, winner last week)

El Tigre sporting a new money-maker!

Tiger Woods has announced he is shelving his trusty putter in favor of a new one as we head into the Open Championship starting tomorrow (or tonight, however you want to look at it here in the States). The much recently vilified Woods is changing his putter for the first time in 12 years! He has been using the Titleist Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter ever since he began using it at the Byron Nelson Classic in 1999. Since that time Woods has gone on an unprecedented run of championships that includes all his Major wins except his first Master's. That putter has more jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring, bad high-fiving moments in it than any putter in the world. Arguably, the most personal club in the bag, Tiger is taking a big risk by changing something he previously called "irreplaceable." Nonetheless his recent rounds have caused him to chastise his putting like never before and have led to the switch.
Perhaps this is what Tiger needs? Maybe this will be his Roy Hobbs moment, where he no longer has his "wonder boy", and maybe this Nike Method could be his "Savoy Special" and he'll hit one into the lights - so to speak.

Or maybe it is just his old Titleist putter with a facelift and some fancy Nike logos, as is rumored about his driver. Maybe he is just s self-serving, self-promoting scum bag. Either way, I'll be rooting for El Tigre (the golfer, not the man) because golf is just more interesting when he is in the hunt on Sunday.

Check out this classic clip.

Tiger Woods Pays Wife $750 Million!

Tiger Woods is paying his wife $750 million in a divorce settlement. Oh, and you think that is crazy? Well, it only gets better. Here are some other conditions of the agreement...

- He is not allowed to have any girlfriends near their kids.
- The only women allowed around them are people who work for Tiger that his wife already knows, and Tiger's wife (if he ever has one again).
- She gets sole physical custody of their kids but they will split legal custody.

So what does Tiger get out of this. Well, his wife is can never publicly speak out over his alleged flings with socialite Rachel Uchitel, reality star Jaimee Grubbs, porn queen Joslyn James and up to 17 others. So, no tell-all books, TV spots, or anything like that. Not really a win, but at least it is something. Than again, there is really no reason for any of that is you just got paid $750 million.

Sorry, what Tiger did was wrong, but his wife doesn't deserve all this money. I mean if he gave her like $10 million, could she not get through he life easily? I mean she didn't earn this money. She didn't win those majors. She didn't do shit other then somehow not know that her husband was banging anything that moves.

Anyways, I just wanted to leave a message for Elin Nordegren... I will do anything to be with you, your body, and your newly found $750 million dollars.

THIRD GREEN JACKET FOR LEFTY

As Phil Mickelson and his caddy were going over the strategy for his second shot at the par five thirteenth, my friend Pat looked at me and said, “He’s gonna stuff one.” I politely disagreed but inside I was screaming, “ARE YOU FREAKING NUTS??? IT WOULD BE JUST AN ACCOMPLISHMENT TO GET IT BACK IN THE FAIRWAY!! WHY WOULD PHIL EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING THAT? PHIL, LAY IT UP YOU CRAZY BASTARD!!”

Well, Phil did not lay up. Instead, he hit the greatest shot he has ever hit in his career. Classic Phil.

A Day like yesterday is why the Master’s is the greatest tournament.

Wow.

Where do we begin?

Might as well start with Tiger.

BAD FATHER BELOW

After putting together a solid first two rounds, Woods’ swing and demeanor began to change over the weekend. His tempo with the driver was horrid. His distance control with his irons was mediocre. The token tantrums started to commence. He basically looked like a guy who was really a good player who hadn’t played in a tournament for five months because his personal life was revealed so he had to go to sex rehab. That’s how he looked.

But with that, Tiger never ceases to amaze me. He shot a 69 yesterday. How? I have no idea. He probably saw places on that course yesterday that he didn’t even know existed. He was missing left, missing right, hitting pop ups, quack hooks, high slices going on expeditions through the woods, flubbing easy bunker shots. He even three putted from a distance Ray Charles could’ve managed. It was like he was drunk, you know what I mean? But still there were spots of his greatness. Through a three hole stretch he went eagle, birdie, birdie that included a hole out on from the rough. He had another eagle on fifteen and ended the day with a picturesque iron shot over the flag at eighteen and then making a sneaky ten foot downhill putt. He shrugged the putt off sheepishly, but I know Tiger has got to be thinking to himself, “What if?” He easily could have won this thing. I’m not sure what his schedule is the next few months, but we now know that Woods doesn’t need to be playing in tournaments to be mentally prepared for majors. Going into Pebble Beach this June, you have to like his chances to win the US Open.

The other main characters in yesterday’s Master’s were Lee Westwood, Fred Couples, KJ Choi and Anthony Kim.

There is usually one guy every year who makes a run early before the leaders reach the back nine. This year that guy was Anthony Kim. Starting the day seven shots behind the leader, Kim put the pressure on the frontrunners by going five under in a four hole stretch starting at thirteen to get himself to twelve under par. Parring the last two holes, Kim’s total of 276 would usually be a winning score at Augusta, but yesterday you knew that wasn’t going to be enough.

In 1992 Fred Couples hit his tee shot at the twelfth and watched in fear as the ball came up short right and looked doomed for the water. However, the ball stopped short, and Freddy was able to get up and down and go on to win his only green jacket and only major. Yesterday he was not as lucky. After hitting a similar looking shot at the same hole, Freddy's ball came up short of the green, and the ball made it’s way into the water. Double bogey. Tournament Lost. Too bad. The fifty year old former Master’s champ was playing fantastic golf and was at ten under par going into the eleventh. A bogey there dropped him to nine under, but with the par fives lurking ahead Freddy was still in prime position to make a move. But after his tee shot at twelve, his quest for his second green jacket was over.

The one guy who has to be kicking himself is K.J. Choi. Choi had the burden or blessing with playing with Tiger Woods every day of the tournament. And yesterday, going into to the par five thirteenth, Choi was at twelve under par and looking to distance himself from the field. But on his second shot the ball ended up in the back left bunker - a place you don’t want to be - and ended up making a bogey six where it looked like it was going to be a four if not a three. A huge swing. On Sunday’s at Augusta you can’t bogey the par fives. If you do you’re giving away shots to the field. After that Choi bogeyed the fourteenth and really didn’t have a chance after Phil’s incredible shot from the pine straw at thirteen. I love K.J. and up to the mistake on thirteen he played wonderfully. He also had to play with Tiger all four days and didn’t show any signs of nerves or pressure. I hope if he get’s himself a major.

Lastly, there is Westwood. Westwood ended up shooting a one under par 71 and was in it all the way to the end. He never gave up and played solidly throughout the tournament. In the past two years he owns top three finishes in all four majors including missing out on both the 2008 US Open playoff and the 2009 British Open Playoff by a single stroke. There’s nothing really missing from his game, but it doesn’t seem like Lee goes for the jugular like Woods or Mickelson do when they’re in contention. He is as steady as they come under pressure and I expect him to win at least one major in the next two years.

But yesterday belonged to Phil.

Along with his miracle shot on thirteen Phil birdied four other holes on the day including the last to shoot a bogey free 67.

It wasn’t easy though. Early on he was having trouble finding the fairway and made some miracle par saves at nine and ten. And after making a nice birdie at twelve, the stage was set for the shot at thirteen. After killing his drive through the fairway Lefty stood in the trees and only had a small opening to get his ball through if he wanted to advance it toward the hole. After deciding to go with a six iron from 207 yards on pine needles, Lefty was, to quote Tin Cup: “define the moment or let the moment define you.”

I have to say that although the shot was successful, I still disagree with his decision.

After the round Phil justified his thought process by saying that he needed to make birdies to catch up with all the other guys. I get that, by why risk making a bogey or a possible double bogey in the process? Yes, that risk paid off yesterday and won him a major, but I bet I could argue that if you look back at his career, decisions like those cost him at least two or three more majors.

But Phil is Phil, and throughout his career these are the high risk maneuvers that have made him a superstar and perennial fan favorite. Love him or hate him, Lefty’s swashbuckling style of play may leave you with you scratching your head sometimes, but it will never leave you asking for more.

Lefty is now the holder of three green jacket’s, tying golf legends Jimmy Demaret, Sam Snead, Gary Player, and Nick Faldo. Jack Nicklaus has the most with six, while Arnold and Tiger both have four.

There are still some great players out there who don't have a green jacket. Guys like Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Steve Stricker and Sergio Garcia.

Another guy who hasn't won at Augusta?

Mr. Perfect.

Tiger Woods Still The Best

There was so much hype going into this Masters that you almost had to think that Tiger was going to be a let down. He had all the excuses, hadn't played in 5 months, crazy media attention, and the general feeling of embarrassment circling around him. Yet, on this day he still showed us that there is no one better to ever play the game of golf.

Tiger Woods shot 4 under, and is trialing 2 strokes behind 50-year-old leader Fred Couples, who has been playing very well of late. Woods had three birdies, and two eagles, yet he could've easily been leading this event if he didn't mess up a couple putts. When it was all said and done Tiger shot a 68, which was his best score ever at this course.

The reception for Tiger from what I could tell seemed to be positive. Yet, there was a general feeling of uneasiness even from the commentators. It seems like a lot of people in the media don't know whether or not to root for him. On the one hand, he is the best in the world, and nothing about his token affairs will change that. On the other hand, it seems like a bitch slap to Karma if he comes out and dominates.

I have never been more into golf then I am right now. Why? Because I want to see Tiger murder everyone. His whole situation was ugly, but other then the fact he wasn't playing golf it was really none of our business. When I saw him play all I could think about is how excited he must feel to be back out there, where things hadn't changed, where Tiger still had control. I look to Tiger for his focus, and ability to play the game, not his morals, and it is great to see Tiger is back and for real.

The Return of The Tiger

And here we go.

I’m sure many of you while watching the NCAA tournament noticed all the little promotional snips that CBS had for the Masters. If you aren’t a golf fan, you probably were annoyed by them. However, if you love golf seeing all those old Masters highlights and hearing the little piano tidbits should get you gushy and gooey inside as it does to me. I’m not going to lie, on occasion, when bored, I’ll go to youtube and search “Masters piano” and listen to it for a few moments. I don’t get off on it or anything. It’s just one of those curiosities that everyone has when they’re on youtube. You know. When you’re like, “Oh shit, does youtube have...” So you go and search it. I digress. But anyway, the Masters is here. And along with this year’s Masters, besides the usual anticipation of this year’s first major, comes the long awaited return of Tiger Woods.

This is hands down the biggest return to golf since Ben Hogan’s comeback from a car crash in 1950. And probably the biggest return in all of sports since Jordan’s comeback fifteen years ago. But this is different. Jordan was coming back from retirement. Tiger Woods is coming of a token sex scandal (TSS) with at least a dozen women and in an age where everyone is a member of the paparazzi and athletes are under a 24/7 microscope, you have to wonder what the hell was going through Tiger’s mind during all this. Now I don’t want to harp on Tiger’s TSS because it is old news and it shouldn’t overshadow the year’s first major. However, his comeback to the game is singular and although no man is bigger than the game of golf itself Woods’ situation right now and his way of handling it will be looked at and studied for better or worse by the future generation of athletes.

Imagine being Tiger. Imagine knowing on the first tee that everyone looking at you right now knows that you are an adulterer. You might as well pull a Hester Prynne and put on a scarlet letter.

Golf is all mental toughness. And we all know Tiger wins...A TON. On average, he wins about one out of every four tournaments he enters. That is completely absurd and really just dumb. After seeing Clash of the Titans a few days ago I would have to classify Tiger as a demigod like Perseus, which means Tiger is part human and part divine. Seriously though, in baseball terms he has a batting average of .250 right now. Some of those wins are blowouts but most of them are close, with him winning by only one or two strokes. What am I getting at? Hey, like I said, golf is all mental toughness. It’s not like other sports where you are reacting to what’s going on, it’s more like....free throws..over and over again. You see, Tiger is obviously talented, but so isn’t everyone else on tour. What separates him from the pack is his will to win but at the same time remaining level headed during pressure situations. He doesn’t choke on three foot putts, or flub easy chip shots, or pack it in because things don’t go his way. Here’s a guy who on the par five last hole of the U.S. Open in 2008 did not find the fairway on either of his first two shots but still found a way to make birdie to force a playoff. All I’m saying is in a game where 99.9% is between your ears can Tiger Woods still play at the same level after all this? Who knows? Maybe this being all out in the open was a release for him and he’ll be better than ever. I don’t know though. If it was me I think I would have trouble competing knowing everyone knew about my transgressions. But I am not Tiger Woods.

Starting tomorrow and over the next few years we will see how Tiger’s TSS effected his golf game. But no matter how he does, I think everyone agrees that it is great to have him back.

Tiger Makes LeAnn Rimes Hit The High Notes

We know all about Tigers little flings with porn stars, and seemingly every random woman on the planet, but today the story got kicked up a notch, as US Weekly is reporting that Tiger Woods once dated songstress LeAnn Rimes. Once again, I don't care about the whole morals thing, but damn you got to respect the action Tiger was getting. LeAnn Rimes is pretty fucking hot, and it is pretty awesome that he was banging her brains out and the media had no idea until now.

The relationship didn't last long as Rimes' father was none too pleased about the whole thing...

“Her dad almost had a heart attack," the source adds. "And he made her stop seeing Tiger."

Ok, you got to ask why he was so pissed. It wasn't public knowledge that Tiger slept with everything that moved, so what else would get him so pissed off? Hmmm it's either two things. This guy is a racist (he is from Mississippi), or he didn't like the age difference (7 years).

Anyways, they probably would've been a good pair. Rimes got in trouble a couple years back for cheating on her then husband Dean Sheremet. Both of them could have just run around screwing everyone, but at the end of the day hold the image of Tiger and his hot blonde wife.

Tiger Woods Announces Return

Tiger Woods announced today that he is returning to golf at the Masters. All I can say is it is about time. I have said time and again that I don't give a shit that he slept with 8,000 women. I don't look to him for my morals, all I want to see is the best golfer of all-time play golf. My only gripe during this who fiasco was that he wasn't playing golf. Now that he is back I got nothing against him, and actually I hope he crushes the competition.

Here is what Tiger had to say...

"The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I'm ready to start my season at Augusta," Woods said in a statement. The major championships have always been a special focus in my career and, as a professional, I think Augusta is where I need to be, even though it's been a while since I last played (ESPN)."

It will be interesting to see how long it takes for him to shake off that rust. He wasn't really on his A game when he left, since he was still getting over his knee surgery. Still, I think he is going to come back with a vengeance.

Tiger Woods Ready To Play

Tiger Woods has been out of golf for far too long, but it might be coming to an end. If you regularly read this site then you know I don't give a fuck that Tiger sleeps around. I don't go to golfers for my morals, and the only thing I care about Tiger is that he is the best golfer I have ever seen. Thus, I am pumped he is coming back. I feel that the media has gone after too much. Do I agree with what he has done? No, but that is between him and his wife. The only thing I have had against Tiger is that he not playing golf.

That problem could be at an end as, "Woods, according to the Post, has hired and been meeting with Ari Fleischer, former advisor to President George W. Bush, with plans to compete in the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, which begins two weeks from today (Boston.com)."

Good. I just want to see him make fool of every other golfer. Fuck the the media, I hope you crush every record Tiger. Remind me why you are so much better then I willl ever be.

New IPhone App: TigerText

When I first read this I thought it would just be texts that Tiger Woods sent to his skanks, but as I read on I found out it is way better. This app allows users to set a time limit on how long a text that they send will hang around after it has been read. When that lifespan has been exceeded, the message will disappear from the recipient's phone, the sender's phone and any servers. The message cannot be forwarded anywhere, stored anywhere or sold to any tabloids for an undisclosed sum.

Let me start off by says that every celebrity in the world should have this. Think about it. How many celebrities have gotten in trouble because of text messages? I mean it is really an endless list, so this is just a great fucking idea for them.

Beyond that anyone who has a girlfriend should get this. We all know that there is a time that you'll shoot a text to a former lover, and even if it is something as harmless as a "happy birthday", it is not going to go over well. So my suggestion is everyone should get this app.

Tiger Woods Speaks

This is the most over hyped news story maybe ever. Tiger apologized, and said he will continue to get help for his "sex addiction". Do I believe any of it? No, of course not, but honestly who the fuck cares?

I want Tigers Woods hitting golf balls. That's it. I don't look to him for my morals. I don't care who he is fucking. All I want is to flip on SportsCenter and see Tiger Woods doing things no other golfer can.

The only thing I am bitching about here is the fact that he is not playing right away. I don't believe he has some sex addiction, and this is really just to get the press to layoff a little bit. Fuck all that, just play golf. That's why you are the first billion dollar athlete, and that's all I care about. Other then that, everyone just layoff Tiger.
