DP's Pick:
Akeem Ayers, LB, UCLA

With all of the DE's practically off the board the Bucs select a LB. The passed two years the Bucs selected 2 DT's so getting a physical specimen such as Ayers is a must. He should be able to shoot the gaps as well as be decent in cover. He's also a great tackler so that's always a plus.

BMack's Pick:
Ryan Kerrigan, DE/OLB, Purdue

There are some questions if Kerrigan is an every down DE, but he is a sack machine (12.5 sacks last year), and that is something the Bucs need terribly after ranking 30th in the NFL in sacks. On top of that he led the country in tackles for loss, so he knows how to shed blocks and get behind the line. Very solid pick by the Bucs here, and somewhat of a steal if he falls this far.

BMack's Pick:
Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA

I have really gotten high on this kid over the past couple of weeks. He is fast, and a freak of an athlete. I wish the Patriots would land him, and hopefully they will. Anyways, the Chargers need an OLB and this guy fits perfectly. Ayers will give them the pass rusher they have been missing since Merriman went off the juice. I see him as a 3 down LB, because he has a lot of experience in coverage, along with his pass rushing skills.

I Hate Pete Carrol But...

What he did at the end of the USC/UCLA game was nice. Before this play, USC took a knee, but UCLA then called a timeout. In response, this happened:



Pete Carrol was trying to end the game, but UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel didn't want it to end. Personally, I would've simply passed for a 1st down, or maybe ran the ball (UCLA had 2 timeouts remaining). But Neuheisel invited the touchdown pass.

But Pete Carrol's sideline celebration looks like a 12 year old girl at a Jonas Brother concert.

Rutgers vs Fresno State

Rutgers is my pick today. Although I love Fresno State quarterback Tom Brandstater and believe he will be a 1rst round pick this year, I think Rutgers is a better team led by quarterback Mike Teel and runningback Kordell Young. I think this Rutgers team will be better than last years team even without Ray Rice.

(18) Tennessee Vs UCLA

As much as I want to say UCLA will pull this one off, it will not happen. Jonathan Crompton is the new quarterback for Tennessee, but their real playmakers are runningback Adrian Foster and wide reciever Lucas Taylor. The consistency of Tennessee will destroy UCLA. Meanwhile, UCLA is rebuilding.
