Larry Johnson About To Sign With Bengals (UPDATED)

"Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson was en route to Cincinnati on Monday and, barring a last-minute breakdown, he expects to sign with the AFC North-leading Bengals, a source familiar with the negotiations told ESPN's Michael Smith. A deal, if consummated, is expected to be for the prorated league minimum. The Bengals, along with several other teams, first expressed interest in Johnson last week as depth behind Cedric Benson, who suffered a hip injury in Sunday's 18-12 victory at Pittsburgh (ESPN)."

This move is made to keep the Bengals secure in case Benson is out for awhile. It would scare me a little bit to add a fucking punk like this to a team that has a way too many thug problems in the past, but if the honeymoon period can last through the season and Johnson can prove he has anything left in the tank, then this is a great signing. You have to wonder if the Bengals are really worried about when Benson can come back...

***UPDATE***

Just so you know it is official. Johnson is a Bengal.

Larry Johnson To The Patriots

Here is going to be my bold claim of the day. I guarantee LJ becomes a Patriot by the end of today. Laurence Maroney's fumble into the end zone was terrible last night and is being heavily overlooked do to Bill Belichick's brain fart call. Maroney has been alright this season, but his fumble last night was very costly. LJ may be a shithead, but he is obviously better than Maroney. Also, the signing of LJ will also take some heat off of Belichick.

Where Will Larry Johnson Go?

HAHA, no one wants this asshole. Don't get me wrong I think eventually he will sign, but it is awesome so many teams are saying fuck that guy...

I Guess You Can Cross The Pats Off The LJ Watch

The Patriots worked out a pair of running backs last week, but they did not add either to the roster. It seems the Patriots will not be adding any high-profile help in the backfield, either.

Asked during his weekly appearance on WEEI if the Patriots would consider bringing in Larry Johnson, who was released by the Kansas City Chiefs today, Belichick replied simply: "I would doubt it." Boston.com

If someone asked me if the could think where LJ would land, I would most likely have said the Patriots. However, that's not going to happen. I heard rumors about both Pennsylvania teams, and I think Philly would make more sense due to their lack of a north/ south rusher. I still believe LJ could be a featured back in the NFL. His attitude was out of wack in KC and refuse to believe someone could go from rushing 1700 yards to sucking. If he latches on with a team and performs he most likely will get another shot to be a starter.

Chiefs Finally Cut Larry Johnson

"Larry Johnson's record-breaking career as a Kansas City running back is over. The Chiefs confirmed Monday that they had run out of patience with his off-the-field problems and released Johnson the day he was due to come back from his second suspension in a year. Johnson, who turns 30 on Nov. 19, was just 75 yards away from breaking Priest Holmes' team rushing record. The decision by the Chiefs (1-7) was not a surprise.

"A part of him is excited and a part of him is very regretful," Johnson's agent, Peter Schaffer, told the Associated Press. "There's a lot of feelings going on right now. It's analogous to breaking up with a girlfriend. Maybe you saw it coming, but it still hurts when it happens (Sportsline)."

No surprise here, and I agree with the move. Larry Johnson is still too talented for someone not to take a chance on him. The question is who? The Patriots could be in the mix, but I kind of doubt it since Maroney is running ok, and they are expecting Morris back soon. The Cardinals, Seahawks, and maybe even the Redskins (since Portis is hurt) would be at the top of my list as possible teams that could go for him. I am sure there will be a lot of rumors over the next couple of days...

Larry Johnson Officially Suspended

"Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson, who made two gay slurs within a 24-hour period, was given what amounts to a one-game suspension Wednesday night, but Johnson's agent said he would appeal. Agent Peter Schaffer said the game check and other lost revenue would amount to about a penalty of about $600,000 for the former two-time Pro Bowl player. In a three-sentence release, the Chiefs said Johnson would be suspended until Monday, Nov. 9 for conduct detrimental to the team. The Chiefs are on their bye week and will not play again until traveling to Jacksonville on Nov. 8 (Sportsline)."

Well we all knew this was coming, and I have to say I think it should be longer. Really all the Chiefs are doing here is getting some money back and buying themselves sometime to see if they can trade him. Most likely he will be cut right after the suspension is over. This is a guy who is paid to be the face of the franchise, and he is calling out his coach, getting in trouble with the law, calling people "fags", oh and on top of all of that he is playing like shit.....see ya LJ.

Larry Johnson To Be Cut

"While Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson has struggled to make an impact on the field this season, he's had a tremendous impact off the field in the time since Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers. While the Chiefs have told Johnson to "stay away" for the time being, a former Chiefs head coach thinks that the running back's days in KC are numbered; furthermore, if he's forced out of KC for his latest issues, there won't be a very good market for his services around the league. During his show on Sirius NFL radio, Marty Schottenheimer said:

"Let me ask you this: of the other 31 teams in the National Football League, who in the world is going to bring him into their locker room? ... To me, the guy doesn't have the skill level to warrant the kind of b.s. that they're putting up with out there and I would not be surprised to see [the Chiefs] run him right out of town (ESPN)."

Had to see this one coming. There is just no reason to have this guy hold a terrible team hostage. Fuck Larry Johnson, they should either trade him or cut him (which one blog is rumoring that they will by the end of the week), it is not like he is playing well at all. That being said, he is going to latch on with another team, and with all the trade rumors going around before the trade deadline about the Patriots looking for a RB....this could get interesting.

Larry Johnson Rips Coach

Here is a guy I am really sick of...

"Chiefs running back Larry Johnson has belittled his rookie head coach on what appears to be his Twitter account, saying Todd Haley has "nuthn" when it comes to NFL-quality credentials. The remarks were posted several hours after the Chiefs (1-6) were routed at home 37-7 by San Diego.

One tweet read: "My father got more creditentials than most of these pro coaches."That is followed by: "My father played for the coach from "rememeber the titans". Our coach played golf. My father played for redskins briefley. Our coach. Nuthn."

Haley did not play high school or college football. He attended college on a golf scholarship. He was hired by first-year general manager Scott Pioli to replace the fired Herm Edwards. A spokesman for the Chiefs said Monday it was not certain if the tweets, posted under the alias of "Toonicon" were posted by Johnson. The Kansas City Star reported, however, that Johnson had said the online alias is his and the account includes a link to Johnson's personal website.

The final post read: "Make me regret it. Lmao. U don't stop my checks. Lmao. So 'tweet' away."

The tweets drew responses, including one that referred to a nightclub incident in which Johnson was accused of spitting in someone's face. Johnson's response include a three-letter homophobic slur (Sportsline)."

As of right now there is no way to prove that this is Larry Johnson, but I really wouldn't doubt it. He is a piece of shit, and this totally sounds like something he would say. Johnson had all the ability in the world, but all we are going to remember is him slapping women, and his fucking big mouth. If I was the Chiefs I would trade or cut him. Kansas City isn't going anywhere for awhile, and Larry Johnson is a waste of space, so either get some draft picks or at least clear some cap space.

Larry Johnson Loses Case

"As for Johnson, Burbank ruled that if the Chiefs cut him, they do not have to pay him a $3.5 million guaranteed salary next season because he breached his contract after being suspended last season, Berthelsen said (Sportsline)."

Larry Johnson did not share the same luck as Plaxico. He was looking for some of that 3.5 million, but he will not see a penny. He breached his contract, and had many off the field issues. Johnson is a fucking thug that hit women and I hope nothing but the worst for him. I am glad they are not going to have to pony up any of that money, and the team seems to be heading in the right direction behind Cassel, and the rest of the Chiefs extremely young team.

Larry Johnson Wants Out Of KC

Well one thing is for sure. Scott Pioli has a lot of work to do. Not only does he have to find a coach, but now it seems he might have to find a new running back.

"During an appearance Wednesday on 610 Sports Radio, Johnson said he thinks it's time for him and the Chiefs to "break ties." He says his departure would allow the Chiefs to find "what they want, and I can try to go on and rebuild my career and find what I want (Sportsline)."

To be honest, this is a good thing for the Chiefs. Larry Johnson is on the down side of his career, but has a big enough name where they could still get a low 1st round pick for him. On top of that, they would be getting rid off all his off the field problems. It is never good to have a guy on your team that goes around slugging women in the face. So, it is probably best if Pioli was to find a way to get rid of this guy, while still building for the future.

Larry Johnson Benched

Larry Johnson's apology
Saying he was "kind of disgusted with myself," a nervous-looking Larry Johnson apologized Wednesday for behavior that has led to an NFL investigation and to his benching for a second straight week.
"I want to start off saying I apologize to the Hunt family, my family, first and foremost, the fans, teammates, coaches and players," Kansas City's two-time Pro Bowl running back said.

How is he "kind of" disgusted in himself. He assaulted a woman, given it was only spitting and saying he was going to kill her boyfriend but still. He will miss his second straight game this week and who knows what Dictator Goodell is going to do about it. This stinks for me because I got LJ on my fantasy team and I want Goodell to make up his damn mind so I can figure out what to do with the man.

Larry Johnson Suspended

Larry Johnson was suspended for 1 week today. It is not for the hitting of a 3rd women, but rather for breaking team rules. So, I guess it is more important to show up on time, and go to practice then not hitting women. Good to know. My theory is that this buys the Chiefs another week to find out what happened, and it also gives Goodell another week to go after LJ, or at least I hope so. We shall see....

Larry Johnson In Trouble

Chiefs running back Larry Johnson as he is being charged with simple assault for allegedly pushing a woman at a Kansas City nightclub. If that wasn't bad enough this will be the 3rd time Johnson has faced assault charges against a woman. So, basically this guy is a scum bag, and I hope Goodell bring down the hammer on this guy. I say that he should be suspended for at least a year, and Kansas City should get back some of the salary they paid this guy. Just another thug, that is a waste of talent in the NFL.
