Boise State Is Annoying Me

I like Boise State when they were a gimmick team that got lucky every once in a while and beat Oklahoma with a hook and latter and a statue of liberty play. However, now that they beat Virginia Tech, I'm going to have to listen to their BCS Championship BS all year. They are like the Brett Favre of college football, they are always around and always get talked about far to much. I really hope some team in the WAC is able to pull a miracle and upset the Broncos (I'm looking at you Kaepernick and Nevada). A lot of people root for this underdog and think they are deserving but to be honest with you, I would rather watch the third best SEC team in a BCS Championship game then Boise State.

Fuck Idaho, Die.

College Football Picks

(5) Alabama Over (7) Virginia Tech

Two players: Julio Jones, Mark Ingram. Both of these players are impact players and even though V-Tech's D is impressive, there is no stopping those two players. Plus Bama's defense is going to rearing to go after that terrible Utah loss in the Sugar Bowl.

Bama: 35-17

Nevada over (23) Notre Dame


Not only will Colin Kaepernick be a Heisman finalist, but he will lead the Nevada Wolfpack over the highly overrated Notre Dame. This game will be close, but that's Kaepernick's style.

Darren Evans Donzo

Virginia Tech leading rusher Darren Evans, who set several school records as a freshman, will miss the entire season with a torn left ACL he suffered in practice on Tuesday, the school announced. ESPN

This is a huge blow to the number 7 ranked Hokies. A lot of the time Evans was Tyrod Taylor's bailout man when he started getting flustered. Highly touted redshirt freshman Ryan Williams is now in a position to follow a similar path Evans did last year, when Evans took over for injured starter Kenny Lewis Jr. I'm sure Ryan Williams will be just fine, because it seems Virginia Tech constantly puts out great runningbacks, but Evans for now will be missed.

78 Virginia Tech, 71 Wake

Another day, another number 1 seed goes down. Wake Forest is the latest victim to get upended in this strange year. The Hokies came in on with their foot on the gas and never released it for the whole game. Malcom Delaney had 21 points to lead the Hokies to victory. The only reason the score is so close is credited to VT not being able to put any free throws in at the end of the game, but it didn't matter because Wake couldn't capitalize on it. It pains me to see this happen for no reason other than this makes Duke the number 1 team in the country and now we all have to listen to that douchebag Wilde.

BC Lost and I'm Glad

Once again, I have had to hear about how BC was about to break through, and finally make a meaningful bowl. Once again, I let myself be roped in to watching the game, and ya once again I know why I hate watching this team. For one they are choke artists. They do this every year, they are good enough to tease you, and then blow it so they can't go to a good bowl game. What bothers me even more is the fan base. I watched the game, and there was no one from BC there. No one travels with this team. I go to some BC games, and I hear about how "die hard" their fans are. Really? Because I have never seen it, all I have seen is a bunch of people who don't know anything about their team, and will not go out of their way to support them. So, can I please stop hearing how I HAVE to watch this stupid team???

Way To Make The Right Choice Beamer

A week after Virginia Tech Coach said they were going to redshirt sophomore QB Tyrod Taylor and rely on the inconsistent Sean Glennon he quickly changed his mind. Virginia Tech has decided to remove the redshirt from Taylor and start him next game, after losing their first game to East Carolina. The realization that Sean Glennon sucks and can't lead a team finally came into play as he went 14-23 for 139 yards and 2 interceptions. Taylor should have been starting from the beginning of the season and the move to start Glennon may have cost the Hokies a bid to make the championship.

Place Your Bets: College Football Week 1

The first week of college football usually features huge spreads as D-IA powerhouses take on IAA cupcakes. For everyone besides Michigan, these are essentially preseason games, with the starters taken out at halftime. These huge spreads make finding good bets a bit harder, but here are 5 that I like...



One spread that really caught my eye was Hawaii @ #5 Florida (-34 1/2). I know Florida's extremely good, Hawaii lost some key players, and the game's in Gainesville, but I just don't see anyone outscoring Hawaii by 5 touchdowns. If Florida racks up 49 points, they'll have to hold Hawaii to 14 in order to cover. Pick: Warriors +34 1/2

Another good one was #17 Virginia Tech (-9) vs. East Carolina in Charlotte (which is actually closer to Blacksburg, VA than Greenville, NC). I honestly don't know much about ECU, but they have Va Tech and West Virginia back-to-back on their schedule, so they got some balls. Still, 9 points isn't enough for them against Virginia Tech in a neutral location. Pick: Hokies -9



Michigan State @ California (-4). Michigan State isn't good enough for such a low spread against a solid Pac-10 team on the road. Pick: Golden Bears -4

#24 Alabama vs. #9 Clemson (-5 1/2) in Atlanta. This is the game I'm looking forward to seeing the most, with Illinois-Missouri a close second. Alabama is one of those SEC teams that's good enough to pull off a big upset of teams like LSU, Auburn, or Tennessee. But I don't think they're good enough to stay with these teams, and teams like Clemson, week in week out. So an upset is very possible, a close game is even more possible, but a Clemson victory by 7+ points is very likely. Pick: Tigers -5 1/2



Another good looking game is Oregon State (-3) @ Stanford. This is a very small spread, which is rare in college football. Stanford might be better than they were in 2007, and Oregon State might be worse, but the Beavers are still on top of the Cardinal. Besides, beavers chop down trees to make dams. Pick: Beavers -3
