With The 1st Pick In The NFL Draft The Carolina Panthers Select...

Cam Newton, QB, Auburn

Easily the best smile in the draft. I'm not sure about this pick, but if your Carolina, Why the fuck not, ya know. Sure they drafted Jimmy Clausen last year, but he sucks and looks like he has no future(I've always hated him). Cam has a good arm and last year he proved he's more than your flash in the pan college player as he led Auburn to a national championship. Yesterday I didn't think it was a good pick, today I'm optimistic he will pan out and be pretty good.

Plus they compare him to the best QB in the league Ben Roethlisberger.

With The 6th Pick In the 2011 NFL Draft the Cleveland Browns Select.....

DP's Pick:
Da'Quan Bowers DE Clemson

This is a steal at 6. Many projected him to be the 1st overall pick and now that they are going to a 4-3 scheme. Bowers is a great fit for that, he has power and quickness and be a perfect slot in there. The Browns have a lot of needs but they need to get that D Line fixed. If I were the Browns it would be very hard not to select Patrick Peterson.

BMack's Pick:
Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn

There was a time when most people thought Fairley would go #1, but there have been so many questions about his motor that he is starting to fall in mock drafts. He will only fall so far, and he shouldn't go past this pick. Bowers would also be a good pick, but I think Fairley has more upside. I have said it before and I'll say it again, if you want to fix a defense it starts with the big guy in the middle, and when Fairley is going 100% there isn't anyone better in the draft. Fairley can stop the run, rush the QB, and teams will have to commit to double teaming him throughout the game. That can open up some pass rushing lanes for DEs and LBs.

With The 3rd Pick In the 2011 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills Select.....

DP's Pick:
Blaine Gabbert QB Mizzou

This pick makes the most sense to me for a couple reasons, Ryan Fitzpatrick did a much better job then anyone anticipated however, he's not a long term solution. Any QB selected in this draft is going to need some seasoning and this way Gabbert can sit out a year or 2 before being thrown into the fire. The options here would be between Cam Newton and Gabbert and I just feel like Gabbert is the safer choice here. Even though I personally don't like any qb in this draft other than Ryan Mallett.

BMack's Pick:
Cam Newton, QB, Auburn

I was torn on this pick, because I could see them grabbing Failey here as well. With Gabbert off my board I think the Bills go with Newton. Do I like the pick? No, but for a franchise that is about as exciting as a Bill Belichick press conference this move could build some excitement for the formerly proud franchise. The best part for the Bills is exactly what DP was talking about. Ryan Fitzpatrick can buy them a year or two to groom Newton, which could be huge especially with this lockout going on. Newton has all the physical tools, and throws a much better ball then Tebow. My questions with him will be his decision making, and character. I know the whole whether or not he took money in college thing doesn't really matter in the pros, but this is more about how he handles himself. The good news with this pick is that he is in Buffalo, and I would figure it's hard to get in trouble there. A back field with him and CJ Spiller could be one of the fastest in the NFL, and it would be nice to see Buffalo at least have a little bit of hype around them.

Oregon vs. Auburn Preview

So after all these shitty bowls we finally get to the one that matter. There is no argument that these are the two best teams, and there is also no doubt that the scoreboard is going to light up tonight.

The over/under of this game is sitting right around 75 points. Let me repeat that, the over/under is 75!!!! That's crazy, and should make for a hell of a show tonight. Both these teams like to run a very fast paced offense, and after such a long layoff the difference could be whoever shakes off the rust faster.

We can't talk about this game without talking about the best player in college football... Cam Newton. Newton has rushed for 1,409 yards and 20 touchdowns but was just as good with his arm, finishing as the nation's top-rated passer with 28 TDs and six interceptions.

I believe that Oregon has the better all around team in my opinion. Darron
Thomas has had a hell of a year at QB with 28 TDs and only 7 INTs, and they have the best running back in the country in LaMichael James, who has 1682 yards rushing with 21 TDs.

Most of the time I pick the team with the best player. In this game that would be Cam Newton, but Auburn has had to comeback in a lot of games this year, and if they let Oregon come out to an early lead I could see them running away from Auburn.

Ducks win 38-27
Player of the Game: LaMichael James
Game starts at 8:30pm on ESPN

I Love the South

The University of Alabama fired a part-time employee for playing unscripted and unapproved songs before Alabama's game with Auburn last Friday. The employee played songs that mocked the allegations surrounding Cam Newton, such as "Take the Money and Run," and "Son of a Preacher Man."

While I think the school is right to fire this guy, as their procedure is that all PA music be pre-approved, and while I think Cam Newton is innocent until proven guilty, I found this hilarious. And I commend the guy who had the stones to lose his job for a joke. Hell, his season of work at the football stadium was over anyway.

Urban Meyer and the SEC Teams Should Be Ashamed Of Themselves (2 UPDATES)

So now that Ex-Gator and Auburn quarterback Cam Newton is rushing Auburn to the best team in the SEC and leader of the Heisman hopefuls, every other SEC is bringing up his troubled past.

Yes, Cam Newton got suspended from Florida and left after he found out Tebow was coming back. That's well documented and accepted. Now Florida is saying that he got suspended from the team for buying 3 papers online and cheating. I know that Urban Meyer has denied releasing this information, but lets not forget how big of a scumbag he actually is. I would not put it past this man, he in the past has been arrogant, and a drama queen(remember the "heart attack" incident), meanwhile every other player who plays for Florida gets arrested and for some reason the NCAA turns the other cheek. I can really see Urban Meyer pissed his team isn't in the top 25 and out of the spotlight and try to have negative press toward his rival.

I know there is already drama surrounding a potential pay-to-play controversy, which Auburn has denied vehemently. The past is the past, and should be left there. We can only take Auburns word for it and have the NCAA investigate privately.

What is getting lost in this whole negative press is that Cam Newton is probably going through a whole lot of bullshit that he could be innocent for. It's probably creating controversy in his day to day activity, whether it be walking to class, eating lunch or going out to dinner in the Auburn area. This is probably going to destroy his well deserved Heisman trophy (which it should be his to lose) amidst the whole Reggie Bush scandal.

However, if he does get found guilty I retract everything I just said.

***UPDATE***

ESPN Dallas' Ian Fitzimmons reporting that within 3-4 hrs the NCAA is going to suspend Cam Newton. Obviously a huge blow to Auburn, and this will kill any chance of him winning the Heisman. We will have more information when it becomes available.

***UPDATE 2***

MSNBC is now reporting that the suspension rumors are untrue, and he should be on the field against Georgia. The rumor gained so much attention that Vegas has pulled the line for the game off the board. We will let you know more when it becomes available.

Controversy Surrounding Cam Newton

Cam Newton is having a hell of a year, heisman runner, etc, however, friends of the program could be involved in his run.

Supposedly when Cam Newton spent a year in junior college(after being booted from Florida) his re-recruiting is what is in question. Here it is:

former teammate is Kenny Rogers, who played at Mississippi State from 1982-85. Rogers operates a Chicago-based company called Elite Football Preparation, which holds camps in Chicago, Alabama and Mississippi. A Lexis search for that business lists Kenneth Rogers as the contact and his title as “agent.” A Birmingham News story from 2008 said Elite Football Preparation “matches high school athletes with college programs.”

Bond said the former teammate told him other schools had already offered $200,000, but since Newton really liked Mississippi State and already had a relationship with head coach Dan Mullen dating to when both were at Florida, Mississippi State could get him for $180,000.

Basically this guy told Miss St., you give me the money and I give you the kid. Miss St. didn't comply and now Cam Newton is at Auburn. The investigation is now hard pressed against Auburn, seeing if they gave Kenny Rogers the money.

The only reason this would suck is that we wouldn't be able to watch Cam Newton play, I hope this blows by and we see a great ending to college football.

Charles Barkley Is Pissed, So I'm Pissed

Auburn on Saturday hired Iowa State's Gene Chizik, who had a 5-19 record in two seasons with the Cyclones. Chizik was the defensive coordinator at Auburn in 2004, when the Tigers finished 13-0 and ranked No. 2 in the country.

Barkley is accusing Auburn hiring Chizik over Buffalo's Turner Gill, because Gill is black. Although, I don't believe race is an issue here, I believe that Gill is a much better candidate. Before Gill took over Buffalo, the Bulls were the laughing stock of football. They took care of undefeated Ball State this year, and were improving a lot going into next year. I do believe that Mike Leach would have been the best coaching option here, however, he wasn't guaranteed to leave Texas Tech.

In other non related news Reggie Theus got fired from the Kings. That is all

Tommy Tuberville Out In Auburn

Tommy Tuberville is out as coach in Auburn and is the second premier coaches in the SEC. In the wake of a shellacking to the hands of Alabama, the 5-7 Auburn Tigers decided to let him go.

"In the four seasons prior to 2008, Tuberville guided the Tigers to 42 victories and an 82.4-percent winning percentage. His 2004 team finished 13-0 and won the SEC championship, but was left out of the BCS Championship game. "

He will have no problem picking up a job.

Prediction is the Mike Leach will coach Auburn next year.

College Football Picks

Today we have a flurry of great games, so I am going to pick a few and break them down and give you my prediction.

(1) Alabama vs Auburn

The only reason I am including this game is because they are rivals, and teams seem to have a better showing going against their rivals. However, Alabama has the most dangerous rushing attack in the SEC and expect a lot of Coffee and Ingram against a deep Auburn defensive line. Alabama's rushing, offensive line, defense, and quarterback are all better than Auburns so that is why this game should be won by the Tide and end the 6 game losing streak.

Bama 28-10

(3)Oklahoma vs (12)Oklahoma State

I know this pick is completely bias' due to my hatred for Oklahoma but I have a feeling. Oklahoma State comes in with outstanding runningback Kendall Hunter. Hunter finished with 102 yards for his fourth consecutive 100-yard game and ninth of the year. The sophomore has 1,434 yards overall -- leading the Big 12 -- and is fifth nationally with 130.36 yards per game. Also Zac Robinson has been playing mistake free football, and doesn't lose them games. If Hunter controls the game and Robinson manages it, this game could be won. Oklahoma will need to be contained, if OSU wants a shot.

35-31 OSU

(4) Florida vs (20) Florida State

I'm picking FSU for a couple reasons, and those reasons have nothing to do with football. (1) I hate Florida, (2) It gives me a reason to put a picture of Jenn Sterger up and (3) I despise Tim Tebow. Florida is a scary team and I really don't want them to play Alabama in the SEC championship because I believe they can beat the Tide. I think Florida State can make Tim Tebow scared and not let him play to the level he has been playing at. FSU is going to win this game for Bobby Bowden and to knock Florida off their high horse.

38-34 FSU

(23)Oregon vs (17) Oregon State

This game has a lot of implications because if Oregon State loses, it lets USC take the Pac 10. Oregon State comes in here without leading rusher Jacquizz Rodgers and that will absolutely kill Oregon States offense. If Oregon can play mistake free football, and contain a banged up Lyle Moevao, this upset could definitely possible.

35-21 Oregon

College Football Recap

There was only two real upsets on the day:

Vanderbilt 14, Auburn 13
Dp was wrong and I'll be honest I didn't see this one coming. Vandy is not 5-0 for the first time since 1943. Auburn's offense finally came back to haunt them as their passing game was some of the worst I have ever seen (a total of 98 yards). Auburn was in control of this game till the 3rd quarter, when Adams was able to get them into the endzone. Still, I'm sorry I can't take Vandy seriously. I know they are playing awesome, but this bubble will bust. I swear to you.

Pittsburgh 26, #10 South Florida 21
South Florida just chokes every time they are in the top 10. Tonight they did it again. LeSean McCoy was just awesome for Pitt as he ran for 142 yards and 2 TDs, oh yea by the way he is only a sophomore. I think South Florida will do the same thing they did last year, drop out of the top 25 picture with a couple of losses. Sorry, it's not your time.

Watch out, Hawaii is up on #22 Fresno State

LSU Survives Auburn 26-21

As usual the game between LSU and Auburn came down to the final minutes, but this time the home team was not able to take home the victory. LSU QB Jarrett Lee and Brandon LaFell hooked up on an 18 yard touchdown pass with 1:03 left to lift LSU past #10 Auburn. Lee was able to overcome an awful first half to be able to lead LSU to victory. In the first half Lee threw a terrible interception for a TD, and it looked like he was not going to be playing the rest of the game, but then Andrew Hatch got hurt (actually looked like he didn't know where he was), so it was up to Lee to win it for them. #6 LSU always seems to be able to pull out these kind of victories, and their defense looks like it may be the best in the NCAA. It will be interesting to see how much respect LSU will be getting in the polls after this great win over Auburn at home.

College Football Picks

O.K. Well if you have been following my College Football picks recently I have nothing to brag about. I am now 6-5 on the season, but I am feeling it this week.

The first game I have t start out with is (6) LSU vs (10) Auburn

I like LSU for a couple of reasons. 1. I don't respect any team that beats another 3-2. 2. Auburn has no passing attack. 3. LSU needs to win this game if they want to be in the National Championship.

So far Auburn's offense has been somewhat of a joke and LSU has been using the duel QB system ever since Bob's boy decided to be a shithead. Andrew Hatch and Jarrett Lee have both thrown for over 200 yards this season and Charles Scott might be too much for Auburn to take. Scott is a bruiser at 5-11 and 220 pounds and has averaged 11 yards per carry and also leads a very strong LSU rushing attack.

41 LSU, 14 Auburn

The Second game I will bee choosing is Tennessee hosting (4) Florida

Although this game will seem pretty obvious that Florida will win, it is still an SEC game and still at Knoxville. What I don't like about Florida is their rushing attack, because they have none. Tebow is leading the team in rushing with 92 yards so far this season and doesn't seem to be producing as much as last year. Actually, Fuck it. I can't bring myself to picking Florida and I am going with the Volunteers.

I like Jonathan Crompton better as a passing QB, and I like Arian Foster as a runningback. Together those two along with WR Lucas Taylor should be able to upset the number 4 Gators. I don't care if Tennessee has never beaten a Urban Meyer run football team.

21 Tenn, 14 Florida

(24) Florida State vs (18) Wake Forest

This may be Bobby Bowden's last season as a coach especially if he has another sub-par season and I think his players know it. So far this season Florida State has beaten two terrible teams and this will be their first true test. This year Florida State's defense is something to write home about and are currently ranked number 1 in the country. They also have received excellent Quarterback play from two guys not named E.J. Manuel, Christian Ponder and D'Vontrey Richardson. Ponder became the first Seminole since Charlie Ward in 1992 to throw for six touchdown passes in his first two career starts. Richardson has thrown for two scores and rushed for three others, including a 55-yard touchdown run against Chattanooga that broke a quarterback school record he tied the previous week.

I don't even need to write about Wake. They are going to lose, end of discussion.

28 Florida State, 10 Wake Forest

Also,
(5) Missouri vs Buffalo

Obviously going to be a BLOWOUT. Get it. Anyways I say Missouri scores no less than 65 points.
