"According to multiple baseball sources, the Red Sox are set to announce the hiring of Curt Young as their next pitching coach. Young had spent the last seven years as the pitching coach of the Oakland A's, with his staff forging the best ERA of any organization both over that time span and in the 2010 season, when a young staff led by Trevor Cahill led the A.L. with a 3.58 ERA (WEEI)."
Nothing shocking here as it was rumored for weeks, but I did get a little worried that someone like the Yankees might grab him. Young did a great job with the A's and I think he will do a great job here. Maybe a new voice controlling the rotation will resurrect guys like Beckett, Lackey, and Dice-k.
