Words from a living legend

Rajon Rondo checked in with his latest blog entry. And i have commented on about 6 of his last posts on behalf of DC, its only a matter of time before he gets back to us. Look at that pic, what a fuckin bad ass.

Anyway heres his latest entry:

"I hope everyone had a happy and safe Thanksgiving. Today was a great day for me! I got to spend the day with my family. We didn't have practice or anything, so I just chilled all day with the people I love the most. We ate good, slept, and ate again. I watched some games and really got a chance to relax. I love these type of days, but it is one thing that bothers me a little about holidays-text messages. On every big holiday, I get a million text messages. I feel bad if I don't respond, so I end up spending a lot of time texting. I guess I should be thankful that people take the time to text me, but sometimes it gets really annoying. Well, I'm about to lay it down. I have a game tomorrow, so I need to get some rest. I'll holla! "

"26-Year-Old To See Every Asshole He Ever Went To High School With On Night Before Thanksgiving

NEW YORK—For the fifth straight year, Jordan McCabe will return home for the holidays and spend the night before Thanksgiving running into every smug and unlikable asshole he ever went to high school with, the 26-year-old reported Monday.

The trip back home, scheduled for later this week, will reportedly bring McCabe face-to-face with an endless string of pricks from his past, each of whom he will have to engage in awkward conversation, and generally pretend to be happy about seeing again.

"They're all going to be there," said McCabe, purchasing an Amtrak train ticket for Rochester, NY. "Every last one of them, just as shitty and conceited and phony as ever."

"I can't believe I'm going to see all those assholes again," McCabe continued.

Though he will initially intend to stay at home with his parents, grandparents, and other relatives, McCabe told reporters that after spending approximately five hours in their company, he will grow antsy, borrow his father's car, and drive to nearby Marleybone Pub. There, McCabe expects to bump into at least five insufferable assholes in the first three minutes.

"Guaranteed Ricky Cook will be there," said McCabe, adding that there isn't much else to do in his hometown. "And probably Vanessa Torres, and that dickhead Michael Schmidt. Yeah, Schimdt will definitely be there. Probably be hammered, too."

At Marleybone, McCabe will be required to partake in a number of unpleasant activities, including making small talk with several assholes who used to openly mock him during high school, and reminiscing about the "good old days" of which he was never a part. While the consumption of alcohol will initially make the evening more tolerable, McCabe is ultimately expected to leave the bar after realizing he has just as little in common with all these assholes as he did when he was 15.

"Katie Reynolds will probably come up and give me a big hug like we're the best of friends, even though she never once talked to me during school, and pretty much acted like I was invisible the whole time," McCabe said. "Boy, I can't wait to hug that bitch again."

After leaving Marleybone, the 26-year-old predicts he will patronize Bud Murphy's Tavern, a favorite haunt for locals, where an even greater number of assholes are expected to congregate in even higher densities.

Assholes such as Craig Horble, Kyle Davis, Vinny Iagosa, Brittany Pipitone, Justin Smigowski, Nick Casey, and Nick's asshole brother, Dennis.

According to McCabe, all the assholes in attendance will look the same except for being 10 to 20 pounds heavier, and possibly sporting a new beard or goatee. However, that same old shit-eating grin will still be on all their faces, McCabe reported.

If previous years are any indication, assholes who live in the area will not be the only ones out the night before Thanksgiving. Like McCabe, who since graduation has moved to New York, many Marshall High School alumni are expected to return from their new homes all across the country.

"I bet Bill Harding is going to show up and talk about his big lawyer job in San Francisco," McCabe said. "I can see it now: 'You know, hours are a real bitch. Money's good, though.' I've known that guy since fifth grade. He's always been an asshole."

Early reports indicate that the mingling of assholes will likely trigger a fight between the hours of 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., with a scuffle expected moments after two giant assholes argue over who rushed for more touchdowns during senior year. McCabe said that he usually tries to avoid any involvement in these fights, but nonetheless anticipates an elbow to his forehead or at the very least a spilled drink on his pants.

"[Wayne] Maldonado just loves to run his mouth, especially when it comes to talking shit about people's girlfriends," McCabe continued. "He used to be kind of scary when we were all in school, but the guy is almost 30 now. I feel kind of bad for him."

Though he remains anxious about the inevitable fracas, McCabe explained that those experiences are usually counterbalanced with more pleasurable events, such as finding out which assholes now have kids.

"I heard Marissa Feely got knocked up this year," he said. "What is that? The third time?"

The 26-year-old is not the only one dreading the upcoming week. Several Marshall High School alumni have expressed similar misgivings about running into former classmates on the night before Thanksgiving.

"I can't believe McCabe is coming back," said local resident Ricky Cook. "That guy's such a fuckin' asshole."

BC underrated or just over achieving?

Is it a shock that BC is once again in the ACC championship or just by default? To be quite honest BC is a roster full of no names on offense but the defense is where they excel. Personally, Ive never been a fan of the Eagles, and I have no idea who is good on the offensive end besides O-linemen whose names are really irrelevant to me as a fan. But my ignorance of anything BC football is really a testament to the coaching in Chestnut Hill. Whether it be Crane or Davis under center they seem to just get it done. What has stuck out to me the last few times I have watched this team is their D, which should be no surprise because they continuously are year in and year out are among the top in the country. Regardless, are they that good or does the ACC just suck. Its not obvious to see that the ACC isnt as prominent as it once was amongst college football. The U sucks, and probably will never amount to anything other than creating stud defensive prospects who dont win anything but a large pay check after their less than spectacular team performance in college. VA Tech is always intriguing because of their system is so well run. Virgina tends to have the nack for the occasional upset, usually at the expense of the Hookies. UNC has become a nice surprise, eventually they would get some recognition other than producing Julius Peppers and Micheal Curry. Every other team isnt worth mentioning because frankly who cares about Duke or Wake Forest?

Why Not?

Why not watch pool mishaps.

89 Celtics, 84 Bobcats

Today the Celtics beat the Bobcats in the second game of back to back nights. Yesterday, we were all excited about the Celtics being able to win without Pierce's help but tonight, The Truth showed he will win us a game from time to time. Pierce finished with 19 points, and crucial free throws at the end of the game. The biggest basket of the game is when the score was tied and Pierce dished it out to KG for a game breaking mid range jumper for the C's to capture the lead for the final time. I noticed after KG hit that basket he gave the MJ fist pump and held it as he walked across the court. Oh yea, MJ was in attendance. Perk may have had his best game of the season as he had 15 points and 12 boards.

Good win.

Celtics vs. Celtics

After last nights ass whoopin of the 76ers DP had a great idea to compare last years NBA champion Celtics to this years squad. There are many things to look at when making this comparison, so let us begin.

Personel:
--Last Years Squad--
Last year there were some faces on the bench that are no longer here. first of all you have the ageless P.J. Brown whose long reach and strength underneath are still being missed by Boston fans. He came outta retirement to come get a ring, and anyone who underestimates the impact he had was simply not paying much attention. His veteran mindset and aggressive work ethic became a example of how to play with heart for the youth of the Celtics. P.J. we hope you're enjoying retirement and your new jewelry.

Then theres Mr. Posey. James Posey had all the intangible pieces that pull together a championship team. but he also produced on the court. his clutch 3-pointers never got old and he became a go to guy when the Cs needed a big time shot. His clutch shots cant overshadow his defense however. The man can change the culture of a team. Boston fans will never forget James standing at the scoring stand before each game, he would hug each of the starting five and spit some knowledge in their ear. Posey will end up getting another ring before he retires just because of the type of player he is.

--This Years Squad--
The best thing about this years team as opposed to last years in terms of personel in my opinion is Tony Allen...hes back and playing well. With Tony becoming an active member of the team, it takes some of the pressure off the rest of the back court. His speed is nearly back to 100% and his defense is still one of the best parts of his game. Tony Allen is the man.

The next point of notice of this years team is simply the youth, and the role they are begining to play.

Glen 'Big Baby' Davis is getting more minutes then he did last year and is reminding everyone how he took LSU to the final four a couple years ago. His heart is unquestionable when you watch this man play, he wants to win, and he wants to win it by playing hard and playing smart. Did anyone else see him make that 16 ft jumper last night?? Werd up. i wanna be friends with him.

'Hard Work' Leon Powe is banging under the boards more than he had a chnace to last year. After game 2 of the finals last year, he solidified his place in the Celtics gameplan. The alltime Pac 10 leading scorer and personal friend of DP, myself, and my girlfriend is going to turn heads for the next couple of years around the league.
Here he is with my GF in Vegas...im pretty sure they did it.

These three guys are allowing the starters to take more time resting on the bench which is important since the NBA season is a marathon not a sprint. I cant stress enough the importance of Tony, Leon, Big Baby, and not to mention Eddie House to this team. Because of them the Celtics have the best bench in the league and more depth than the grand canyon.

New faces on the team this year include Patrick O'Bryant, J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker. These guys combined with Gabe Pruitt basically compile the Celtics 'C' squad and see about as much minutes as you would expect a C squad to see. They play their part and if nothing else help prepare the rest of the team for games throughout the year in practice.

Winner: This Years Team
Depth Depth Depth. When Doc goes to the bench i dont mind anyone he throws out there this year. This years team has a balance thats really hard to create in todays NBA.

Offensive Power
--Last year--
At the end of the regular season the Celtics were avergaing 100.5 points per game...not too shabby. The leading scorers for this squad are all still starting for Boston. Their PPG were as follows:
Paul:19.6
Ray:17.4
KG:18.8
Rajon:10.6
Simply put, they crushed teams last year. They were the best defensive team in the league, but that doesnt account for all the points they scored. They still got it done on the offensive side of the ball. They finished with a 47%FG rating which is pretty impressive as well. And with Posey still around there were numerous threats from beyond the arch as they were 38% with the deep ball.

--This Year--
Its tough to really compare numbers at this point simply because its so early in the season, but fuck it.
Right now the Celtics are averaging 98.8 PPG and the leading scorers are currently the exact same with Paul, Ray, Kg and Rajon the top four. but the scoring is much more balanced among the rest of the team. I dont want to get much into individual numbers, because they are likely to change by the end of the year. However, check out http://www.nba.com/celtics/stats/ for some exact figures.

This year it may feel like the Celtics arent as offensively strong as they were last year, its a mirage trust me. They are good, if not better than last year. As i stated before, this year the starters get to spend some more time on the bench getting a breath than they did last year, and this is proof of the stability of the offensive from top to bottom.

Winner: This Years Team
Again, depth depth depth
Anyone can score this year, and the name of the game is teamwork. The top 4 leading scorers are still here, and are still the top 4, also the pieces around them are better this year as whole.

Defensive Power
--Last year--
They were the defensive team of the year. No one wanted to fox with the Cs last year.
Opponents averaged just over 90ppg at about 40%FG shooting, they forced 16 TO a game, and had an average of 8.5 steals again.

Nuff said.

--This Year--
They are still playing great defense, but lets be honest, not as good. The celtics are actually giving up the ball more than taking it away. So far they turnover the rock 16.2 times, and force the TO 15.9 times, not a dramatic stat, but reveals the fact that so far...its not as tight as it was last year.
They still get about 8 and a half steals a game, and are holding opponents to 90.5 PTG still which is fine by me. They are still one of the best defensive teams in the league if not the best, dont get me wrong, but they still have to prove at the end of the year that they are as good as last years squad.

Winner: Last Years Champions
Simply put, this years Celtics have a lot to live up to in terms of defensive prowess. So far they look pretty good, but its a long season.

Take a step back and look at these two teams. I truely believe the Celtics are bound to repeat because i believe this years team is better than last years. Argue if you want, i expect nothing less. But they are pulling together with an obvious confidence and prestige that is contageous when wearing those historic uniforms. Last year the Celtics were so hungry they were almost drooling, but this year they are cool, confident, and collected and poised to repeat. They have begun a new dynasty in Boston Celtics history, and you better believe than anything less than a repeat is a dissapointment. They have the swagger of team that knows they are the best, but still goes out every night to prove it.

God damnit I love the Celtics so much.

Why Not?

Why not hit a 7-10 split blindfolded?

Sox Trade For Littleton

The Sox added more depth for their bullpen acquiring righthanded pitcher Wes Littleton from the Rangers for two players to be named later. Littleton is nothing special, but he is good against righties. Last season he was 5-3 with three saves, a 3.69 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 102.1 innings over 80 career relief outings, and limited righthanded opponents to a .236 BA in his MLB career. Hopefully, this will not be the only trade the Sox will be making with Texas this offseason.

He also throws sidearm, so it seems like this may be another DP type of guy...

Plaxico Burress Got Shot

"New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress suffered an accidental gunshot wound Friday night in a club, according to multiple sources.
Details of the incident weren't immediately available, but according to a source the wound was not considered life-threatening." ESPN

First of all, how do you "accidentally" get shot. Plaxico has always been a flaky personality. He doesn't really get in that much trouble, but he always in the news about something. I personally think Plaxico is a punk and not only is he a fool for getting himself into a situation like this, he deserves to be suspended on top of it.

College Football Picks

Today we have a flurry of great games, so I am going to pick a few and break them down and give you my prediction.

(1) Alabama vs Auburn

The only reason I am including this game is because they are rivals, and teams seem to have a better showing going against their rivals. However, Alabama has the most dangerous rushing attack in the SEC and expect a lot of Coffee and Ingram against a deep Auburn defensive line. Alabama's rushing, offensive line, defense, and quarterback are all better than Auburns so that is why this game should be won by the Tide and end the 6 game losing streak.

Bama 28-10

(3)Oklahoma vs (12)Oklahoma State

I know this pick is completely bias' due to my hatred for Oklahoma but I have a feeling. Oklahoma State comes in with outstanding runningback Kendall Hunter. Hunter finished with 102 yards for his fourth consecutive 100-yard game and ninth of the year. The sophomore has 1,434 yards overall -- leading the Big 12 -- and is fifth nationally with 130.36 yards per game. Also Zac Robinson has been playing mistake free football, and doesn't lose them games. If Hunter controls the game and Robinson manages it, this game could be won. Oklahoma will need to be contained, if OSU wants a shot.

35-31 OSU

(4) Florida vs (20) Florida State

I'm picking FSU for a couple reasons, and those reasons have nothing to do with football. (1) I hate Florida, (2) It gives me a reason to put a picture of Jenn Sterger up and (3) I despise Tim Tebow. Florida is a scary team and I really don't want them to play Alabama in the SEC championship because I believe they can beat the Tide. I think Florida State can make Tim Tebow scared and not let him play to the level he has been playing at. FSU is going to win this game for Bobby Bowden and to knock Florida off their high horse.

38-34 FSU

(23)Oregon vs (17) Oregon State

This game has a lot of implications because if Oregon State loses, it lets USC take the Pac 10. Oregon State comes in here without leading rusher Jacquizz Rodgers and that will absolutely kill Oregon States offense. If Oregon can play mistake free football, and contain a banged up Lyle Moevao, this upset could definitely possible.

35-21 Oregon

Bruins 7, Islanders 2

The Bruins might want to use their new alternate jerseys more often after beating the Islanders 7-2 Friday afternoon. Michael Ryder wouldn't object to that.

The Islanders were actually the better team to start. Manny Fernandez showed a bit of rust and positioned himself poorly to stop a wrist shot, giving New York a 1-0 lead. They outshot the Bruins 9-7 in the 1st period, and had the better offensive opportunities.

But the B's turned the tables in the 2nd, creating numerous opportunities, and finally breaking through with 2 goals to take a lead.

The 3rd saw a complete meltdown in New York's offense, which gave the Bruins chance after chance after chance. And the Men in Black didn't miss.

Michael Ryder needed a breakout game. Or rather, the Bruins needed him to have a breakout game. And they got it. He was acquired for his ability to finish plays with a goal. But he hadn't been accurate, or very opportunistic. Until Friday afternoon. Both his goals were sniped into the net from distance.

Matt Hunwick extended his point streak to 6 games with 2 assists. Blake Wheeler, David Krejci, and Phil Kessel each tallied a goal and an assist. Manny Fernandez is now 6-1-1, and the Bruins are averaging 4.6 goals per game in his starts this season. They've also scored 20 in his last 3 starts (6.7 per game).

The Bruins have won 8 straight at home, but that streak will be put to the test Saturday night as the Stanley Cup Champion Red Wings come to town.

102 Celtics, 78 Sixers

I said in the pre game Rondo is the catalyst of this team and tonight proved no different. Rondo didn't keep up with his latest offensive stats, but did his usual of filling up the stat sheet with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 12 assists. He was amazing on short spurts and surprised the whole Sixers team with his speed. This was one of the most fundamentally played Celtics game I have seen all year. They had this game in the bag from the start and gave the starters much valuable rest. As for the the big three Ray Allen had 23, KG had 16 and Pierce only had 6. People may be scared about that, however I think it is terrific that we don't need Pierce in games when the whole team is doing well.

I'm proud.

Why Not?

Celtics Vs 76ers

Tonight the Celtics go up against Elton Brand and the 76ers. The Sixers are a lot different then they were last year and their line up matches up against us very well I believe. They got Andre Miller at the 1, Andre Iguodala, Thaddeus Young, Elton Brand, and Dalembert at center. Recently we have been riding Rondo and I expect nothing less tonight. Him being able to cut and pass it out or get a lay up has absolutely devastated teams. Andre Miller may be the most underrated PGs in the league, however, he doesn't play that much defense. If Rondo can take advantage of that, this game will be easy.

Celtics 97-92
T.A. Ray Allen

Schilling To Blog For WEEI

Fuck, Fuck, Fuck. Well at least not for me because I am in New Orleans, but for the fans in Boston, I am sorry for you all. I can't stand Schilling once he leaves the mound and I believed he was going to be fazed out now that he isn't playing. However, WEEI just signed him and his blog to work for them. Get ready for idiotic statements and right winged bullshit.

Lane Kiffin To Coach Vols

Tennessee has reached an agreement with former Oakland Raiders coach Lane Kiffin to take over as the Volunteers' next coach, with an announcement planned for Monday, barring any snags, according to multiple sources.

I like this move. I believe got a terrible deal in Oakland and he will thrive in Tennessee. Now that the Phillip Fulmer era is over Kiffin can focus on getting Tennessee back to the prestigious program it once was. Kiffin already has plenty of college experience when he was a coordinator at USC. I expect nothing less then a top 15 ranking next year.

Practice?

"Detroit Pistons guard Allen Iverson missed practice Thursday and will be levied a "hefty" fine, coach Michael Curry said (ESPN)."

Wow, who would have thought AI would skip practice? This is hilarious, because when AI was traded to Detroit he said he would do anything to win a championship, even go to practice. I guess that didn't last long. I never know what to think of AI, because during a game he can be awesome, but he can also cost a team a game when he is cold. He talks the talk when it comes to what he supposed to do, and seems like a team leader, but then doesn't show up to practice. I just don't know what to think of him, but one thing is for sure...even though he wears a different jersey, he is still the same AI.

Details Of Tazawa Signing

As we reported a couple days ago, Tazawa has signed with the Red Sox, now some of the details are coming out. The Red Sox have signed the 22-year-old righthander to a 3 year deal, and the official announcement will be made on Dec. 1st. The deal is for about 6 million a year, which wasn't the biggest deal he was offered (Texas offered more), but the idea of playing in Boston with Dice-K was too much for him to pass up. Boston will add him to their 40 man roster next week. It will be interesting to see if these leads to anymore deals for the Red Sox.

Marbury Done With Knicks

"The Knicks have decided that Stephon Marbury will no longer be with the team starting Friday, a person familiar with the situation told CBSSports.com. It has not been decided whether Marbury will be suspended without pay or simply told to stay home until the situation is resolved. The NBA Players Association, which is representing Marbury in his buyout talks, did not respond to a request for a comment."

You know,I took Marbury's side before saying the Knicks were treating him badly. However, his recent refusal to play has just made my original assessment of him stay strong. I think this guy is nothing but a problem, and if he does get bought out, I don't want to see him in a Celtics uniform. He would do nothing but throw a wrench into the Celtics system. Fuck Marbury.

The Detroit Lions Can't Be This Bad?

After getting bitch slapped on Thanksgiving, it is hard to comprehend that the Detroit Lions are this bad. Yesterday, it seemed like the Lions were a JV high school team going against a Pro football team. The Lions couldn't do anything right on both sides of the ball and QB's Dante Culpepper and Drew Henson seemed completely lost. Minus Calvin Johnson the Lions have nothing to look forward too. Right now they are 0-12 and expect them to make a run at the zero win streak.

Happy Thanksgiving from "Pat and John On..."

What's not to like about Thanksgiving? Seriously. Well, let's preface that with, if you hate your family, Thanksgiving might be the worst day of the year for you. But for us with non-dysfunctional families, Thanksgiving is awesome. Of course the reason why Thanksgiving is awesome is because of the food, and that's primarily what we'll concentrate on today.

Turkey: Turkey is the Thanksgiving staple. Other than a turkey sandwich now and then do you ever even eat turkey during the rest of the year? But we all know deli meat turkey is decidedly NOT oven-roasted turkey. Turkey itself is nothing special really, it's somewhat moist unless Cousin Eddie from Vacation's Wife is cooking it, then you might need a little extra gravy. The skin is pretty much the only tasty part because thats where most of the seasoning ends up, unless you ordered "The Flavor Injector" from the makers of the Showtime Rotiserie BBQ. But simply put, turkey pretty much tastes exactly like chicken and perhaps is even a little less tasty. If you put a slice of turkey in front of someone on any day other than Thanksgiving, they'd say this is some good chicken. If you loaded a serving dish with slices of chicken and passed it around your family's table, they'd all be giving you kudos on what a great job you did with the turkey. The meat itself doesnt contain the real flavor you crave, no my friends that comes from the gravy. So it is our humble opinion that it is not turkey that makes the thanksgiving feast great, no sir. It is its wonderfully fattening brown friend, gravy.

119 Celtics, 111 Warriors

This is a funny picture to me because Rondo looks terrified. However, on a night that we are morning "The Redhead From Needham" the Celtics dug down and were able to beat the Warriors last night.

Rondo hasn't had a bad game since people were questioning him, and last night didn't disappoint. Rondo had 22 points, 8 rebounds (4 offensive), 7 assists, and two steals last night as he led the Celtics to their 6th straight win. Everyone except for Perk scored in double figures. And no Perk didn't get a tech either. The big three all scored in the 20's and unlike most games the Celtics used their offense to beat a team rather than their defense.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Sabres 3, Bruins 2

The Bruins did something they haven't done in over a month: lose in regulation. Surprisingly, it came against a Buffalo Sabre team that had lost 5 straight.

A sloppy first period of play allowed Buffalo to take a 2-0 lead. Their first goal came thanks to a David Krejci giveaway right in front of the net. Derek Roy slipped away with the puck and snuck it into the net. In all honesty, I can't remember the last time Krejci gave up possession like that. I don't think it's ever happened.

The Bruins got on the board thanks to rookie defenseman Matt Hunwick, who's replaced the injured Andrew Ference, and done a brilliant job. He's scored a point in 5 straight games, with 3 goals, and 3 assists in that stretch. Not too shabby from the blue-line. Although this latest goal came from crashing the net.

But 0:30 later, the Sabres reclaimed their 2 goal lead. Shorthanded, Germany's Jochen Hecht made a move on Chara, got past him, and flew up the ice. For some reason, Patrice Bergeron gave him room and played the middle of the ice as if it were a 2-on-1 breakaway. It wasn't. It was 1-on-1, with Chara rushing in for support. Thomas probably should have saved the wrist shot, but it got by his glove and into the net.

Phil Kessel made the last 10 minutes interesting, but the Bruins couldn't tie it up.

The B's return home to face the Islanders Friday at noon.

Gig Em

Bold prediction: Texas A&M beats Texas 28-24 tomorrow night. The game may be in Austin, but Colt McCoy is 0-2 in his career against the Aggies with 1 TD and 4 INTs.

And I'm not just being a blind Sooner fan, cuz I have a feeling Oklahoma State will beat Oklahoma.

Tom Terrific Rehab Update

Not really. Looks like Tom checked out early this week much like the rest of the country in preparation of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Him and the wife decided to give back, serving dinner at some Goodwill function or another. I think my favorite is the chick behind Giselle while she is serving the pie. That or her eating table scraps of homeless people food.

Cassel: AFC Offensive Player of the Week

Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for games played the 12th week of the 2008 season (November 20, 23-24), the NFL announced today.

Well, Cassel definitely deserved it, since he completed 30 of 43 passes (69.8 percent) for 415 yards and with 3 touchdowns (1 INT) with a 114.0 passer rating. Cassel has been awesome over the last two weeks, and it's nice to see him get recognized for it. The Patriots have been bring home some hardware, since Mayo has won some defensive player of the week awards, and rookie of the month.

Celtics vs. Warriors Preview

The Warriors come to town tonight to take on our world champions. They are now lead by their newest acquisition of Jamal Crawford.

Crawford has had a pretty decent year considering he came from NY, hes averaging 18.8 pts and 4.6 asst. The entire GS lineup includes Crawford, Morrow, Jackson, Maggette, Biedrins, and Azubuike as the 6th man. Put it like this, I like Bostons' chances tonight. If they can make sure to defend the 3-pointers, this game should be in the bag. If i had to pick the match up of the night it would be KG taking on Bmack's boy big Corey Maggette. Their numbers are comprable, so its gonna come down to the factors that don't show up on stat sheets....advantage KG.

GS is 5-9 currently, and I anticipate their record improving quite a bit with these 2 new pick ups, unfortunately for them, that wont happen until after tonight when they become 5-10 overall.

Predictions:
Bos 97 - GS 82

I Agree With Lil Wayne

Here is a quote from Lil Wayne's recent blog,
"I don't think the Pacman Jones situation is sad at all. I do not think Pacman Jones should be in the NFL. If I was the commissioner, I'd kick him out. They keep giving him chances and he keeps messing up. You got guys like Hines Ward out there getting fined for making plays on the field on one hand, and then on the other hand you got guys in situations where people are getting shot. Come on. You have to be smart about the company you keep. I should know. But sometimes it's not just friends—it's family members who are into bad stuff who bring you down. And how can you get rid of family? You can't. That's why I think, in his situation, there is no way he's turning it around. I mean, come on. He's a grown man. They don't give these huge contracts to kids. His main job is to stay out of trouble and he can't do that, so I'd kick him out of the league."

God dammit. Why couldn't he just say he agrees with Pacman and he should be allowed in the league. Fuck you for having something that I agree with.

Jimmy Patsos is Crazy

#25 Davidson beat unranked Loyola-Maryland in a game that would normally be forgotten 10 minutes after the final buzzer. Except Davidson's Stephen Curry was held to 0 points and 3 shots. Curry averaged 25.9 points per game last year, and was averaging 35.0 coming into their contest with Loyola. He was the country's leading scorer.

Loyola double-teamed Curry, non-stop. Every situation, every second of the game, with or without the ball. Curry, smartly, would stay in the corner, giving his 4 teammates an easy chance to score against 3 defenders.

Davidson was up 21 points by half-time, but Loyola Coach Jimmy Patsos' double-teaming strategy didn't change. After the game, Patsos remarked:

"Anybody else ever hold him scoreless? I’m a history major. They’re going to remember that we held him scoreless or we lost by 30?"

Apparently all Patsos cared about was what Curry did in his game. Had Curry somehow scored in the 1st half, the double-team may have been lifted. No more history, no reason to double team the guy down by 30 with 4 minutes left.

Last week at Boston College, I saw Mr. Patsos lose what little composure he had to begin with. During a 90-57 loss, he aggressively jawed with the lightly populated BC student section. This only incited more taunting and pointing to the lopsided scoreboard. Which incited more jawing. And so on.

The next day, Loyola faced Cornell at BC. Patsos was called for a technical in the 1st half, then moved down his own bench, handing control of the team to an assistant. Later Patsos - angered by the officials and paranoid of another technical - went up into the seats and watched a few minutes of the game 4 rows from the floor. Luckily for him, attendance at the consolation game was 865, so plenty of good seats were available.

This sounds like your stereotypical movie coach. He yells a lot, he's a hard drinker, he hates losing more than anything, and he has "antics." He's Coach Pete Bell from Blue Chips.

Angels Give Up On Teixeira

The Angels are reportedly giving up on trying to sign Mark Teixeira. Some think it is because there are rumors going around that Teixeira wants a 10 year deal, and the Angels just aren't willing to do that. Other reports say that the Angels are actually much more interested in CC, but I don't see that happening since the Yankees are going to top any offer that they propose.

For the Sox, this can only be good news, though a 10 year deal does scares me. Still, I think they can get that number down to 7 years, and with the Angels out of the picture, the Sox have to be the front runners to sign Teixeira. Giggity...
