Celtics vs Warriors Preview

Depth Chart

Golden State (PPG)
Boston (PPG)
PG S. Curry 18.7R. Rondo 11.0
SG M. Ellis 24.7R. Allen 17.4
SF D. Wright 16.3P. Pierce 18.9
PF D. Lee 16.0K. Garnett 15.3
C A. Biedrins 5.4N. Krstic 7.8
The last time the Celtics played the Warriors they did a hell of a job. They finally got the monkey off their back and won in Golden State. Much like last game this scares the hell out of me, the injuries, the athletic way they play and knack to hit the 3. The Celtics have got more athletic with the Krstic/ Green deal but the injuries are getting to be insurmountable. The good is that Golden State doesn't have size, so we can get away with a line up of Rondo, Ray Allen, Pierce, Jeff Green and KG at the Center to match up.

I think the key to this game is Rondo. If he can stay on Steph Curry's hip and if Pierce and Allen can run the picks and have Wright and Ellis play defense, that will go a far way.

Ultimately I think the Celtics come away with the win and I expect a big game for Jeff Green.

Celtics vs. Warriors Preview

The Warriors come to town tonight to take on our world champions. They are now lead by their newest acquisition of Jamal Crawford.

Crawford has had a pretty decent year considering he came from NY, hes averaging 18.8 pts and 4.6 asst. The entire GS lineup includes Crawford, Morrow, Jackson, Maggette, Biedrins, and Azubuike as the 6th man. Put it like this, I like Bostons' chances tonight. If they can make sure to defend the 3-pointers, this game should be in the bag. If i had to pick the match up of the night it would be KG taking on Bmack's boy big Corey Maggette. Their numbers are comprable, so its gonna come down to the factors that don't show up on stat sheets....advantage KG.

GS is 5-9 currently, and I anticipate their record improving quite a bit with these 2 new pick ups, unfortunately for them, that wont happen until after tonight when they become 5-10 overall.

Predictions:
Bos 97 - GS 82

Celtics at Golden State Tonight

Boston heads down to Oak-town tonight to match up with Don Nelson’s Warriors. Golden State begins a five-game home stand tonight and has been playing pretty good ball lately. They ended the first half of the season by taking out Nash and the Suns to finish the last 5 games 4-1. Although they lost Tuesday night to the Jazz, they have won 7 of their last 10. (By the way, they outscored the Jazz 32-19 in the last quarter of that game). Garnett’s return to the lineup on Tuesday seemed much worse that it actually was. To me, it simply looked as if the C’s were expecting KG’s usual level of enthusiasm to be returning along with the Big Ticket himself, unfortunately, this was not the case. But if anyone is worried, they should ask whoever’s closest to them for a slap in the face. KG is gonna be fine so relax, he knows he’s not 100%, and said he was “rusty as hell”. The Celtics can now cant their losses on two hands…and its Feb 20th…they’re going to be fine. I ask you, does this man look nervous…

With no Stephen Jackson (out with ankle sprain), the fact that GS is averaging close to 10 pts more a game then the C’s is less important. What is important now is that Boston’s opponents this season are averaging 19 points less than those that have faced GS. The Celtics hate losing, that’s why they have been trying to hard to keep the “L” column in single digits. Now that it’s reached 10, they’re pissed, and they’re gonna let it rain.

Final Score prediction: Boston 109-88

Tommy Award tonight will go to Garnett. He going to find his touch and begin a momentum swing towards Friday--his matchup with Kazaam.
