Today I don't have any work, so I'm sitting on my ass eating junk, drinking beer, and watching college football. Here are my picks for today's games:
Yale @ Harvard
You don't care? I don't care that you don't care. This is one of the most historically important college football rivalries in the country. These two teams molded the game of football into what it is today. 35,000 fans will pack Harvard Stadium in Allston today with bragging rights (and possibly an Ivy League title for Harvard) on the line. The Crimson (that's Harvard, by the by) roll over the Bulldogs 34-10.
#15 Michigan State @ #8 Penn State
The Land Grant Trophy and the Big Ten title are on the line in this one. Penn State goes to the Rose Bowl with a win, while MSU can go to Pasadena with a win, and an Ohio State loss to Michigan. I think Penn State chokes in this one, because the Big Ten is just a choking conference. Spartans win 24-21, but OSU beats Michigan and the Buckeyes go to the Rose Bowl.
#14 BYU @ #7 Utah
Who'd have thought this game would have BCS implications. Utah wins and they're probably going to the Orange Bowl. If they don't, then Boise State probably gets the automatic BCS bid. The Utes pull away from the Mormons late in this one, 38-27
#2 Texas Tech @ #5 Oklahoma
The big one. Texas Tech's most difficult road test. Oklahoma's last shot at the national title. I think the Sooners are too good to lose in Norman, to anyone. It will be a high scoring affair, with OU outlasting the Red Raiders, and making the BCS picture even more confusing. OU wins 42-38, maybe even in overtime. OT in this game would be sick.
