In Completely Unsurprising News

Former Warrior, 76er, Timberwolve, Piston, Timberwolve, Bucks, Nugget, 76er, Bull, Cavalier, Thunder is now re-signing with the Cavs. This pretty much makes the Ben Wallace injury irrelevant. Smith is what he is, a veteran PF that can score if he needs to and defend. People are sad that the Celtics didn't wait for the Thunder to release him instead of getting Mikki Moore, but lets be honest, Joe Smith isn't going to make or break a team. He sucks, he was one of the biggest busts in the NBA and is going to be on three teams next year as well.

Around The NBA

Celtics lost, Lakers lost, Cavs won. That's all that matters.

But in other news, Drew Gooden and Joe Smith have been released.

Many Celtics fans are probably thinking of screwing over Mikki Moore or sending Giddens back to the NBDL to open up space so we can have a shot at Joe Smith, but that isn't going to happen. Joe Smith is most likely going to wind up back on the Cavs, who he is familiar with and who need him a lot since Ben Wallace is out for the rest of the season. Also, Drew Gooden is most likely going to stay on the west coast and go to the Spurs.

I would loved to have either of these players but it just isn't reasonable to get one of them at this point.

Cavs Trade For Mo Williams

Finally it seems like Cavs have got Lebron some help. Mo Williams is headed to Cleveland in a 6 player 3 team deal that is being finalized as I type. The 3 team involved Milwaukee, Cleveland, and Oklahoma City. The Bucks will receive Damon Jones from Cleveland along with guard Luke Ridnour and forward Adrian Griffin from Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City will get veteran forward Joe Smith from Cleveland. Mo Williams averaged a little over 17 points a game last year, and might give the Cavs just enough to be back in contention in the East. The question is, is it enough to challenge the Celtics, Pistons, 76ers, and Magic?
