Assistant Coach Rajon Rondo

Kentucky coach John Calipari tweeted this on Thursday night:

“John Wall (@jimmywa11), Rajon Rondo (@rajonrondo) & Eric Bledsoe (@ebled24) all plan to enroll in the fall if the lockout continues. Kaboom!”

Oh that Calipari did it again. Since I think there will be a lock out, it would be cool if all 3 of them were assistant coaches of Kentucky. Such a good recruiting ploy too. Calipari can just send a pro out on recruiting trips and get whichever high school kid he wants to fall right into his lap.

This is why John Calipari is the man. He thinks outside of the box. Great move Coach Cal.

Kentucky Extends Coach Cal

Kentucky will announce a two-year contract extension for men's basketball coach John Calipari Monday morning, giving him eight more years with the Wildcats, multiple sources told ESPN.com Sunday night.

Calipari's previous contract was $31.65 million for eight years. The new deal is expected to have a financial increase over his original contract.ESPN

Good, Coach Cal is one of the best coaches in college basketball if not the best. He is constantly having to juggle the players that come in and go every year. Last year he lost Brandon Knight, Josh Harrelson and DeAndre Liggins. But it's no big deal as he has Terrence Jones and Darius Miller return back to Lexington along with the best recruiting class in the country headlined by Anthony Davis, Michael Gilchrist and Marquis Teague.

Cal gets a lot of shit because of the revolving door policy he has and because everywhere he goes, trouble follows. However, in his defense he has never been found guilty of any issues that have happened.

It's Alright Kentucky Will Be Fine

Kentucky may be losing DeAndre Liggins, Scott Harrelson, Terrence Jones, and Brandon Knight but all is good in Lexington as 4 of the top recruits will be joinging Doron Lamb in the quest for a 2012 championship.

Kentucky is getting:
Anthony Davis a 6'9 PF
Michael Gilchrist a 6'6 SF
Marquis Teague a 6'1 PG
Kyle Wiltjer a 6'9 C

So there you have it, a replacement for everyone leaving. Also there is no guarantee that Liggins will stay in the draft.

I know this is wishful thinking with UNC being a powerhouse next year, and Duke getting Austin Rivers. But fuck it, calling it now, Kentucky is winning the championship.

Interesting LeBron Rumor

Apparently LeBron James and John Calipari are being shopped together as a package deal. The Bulls who have been the hot rumor team for LeBron say they have not discussed it at all. As a Kentucky fan this makes me very uneasy, I don't believe Coach Cal will leave Kentucky just and think this whole rumor started because he was spectating a Cavs game. However, I don't put it past the controversial coach.

At the End of the day, my guess is that he goes to South Beach with Dwayne Wade. I don't think he will live under MJ's shadow in Chicago, I don't think NY will be able to get enough pieces and NJ isn't in Brooklyn yet. So Miami is the place where I think the Queen will end up.

A Cavs Loss Could Lead To Calipari

We are going to have a little fun with a "what if" scenario. Say the Cavs once again get blown out by the Celtics. What would be the fallout? Many think Lebron would be gone, and I have to agree, but there is another scenario that could happen.

One NBA exec posed this question to Stein: "What if Cleveland doesn't win this series? If LeBron is a [John] Calipari fan, why wouldn't Cleveland go after him?"

As Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer tweeted in the first half of the Cavs' ugly loss last night: "Calipari sitting courtside next to Cavs bench with LeBron's agent Leon Rose. Two seats from Cavs owner Dan Gilbert (ESPN)."

Interesting right? If the Cavs lose their coach is definitely getting fired. He might be the worst coach in the NBA anyways. It is really a joke. Doc Rivers has been taking this guy to school all series, and to be honest Mike Brown should already be fired.

Still, even if this does get some legs I think it is stupid for Calipari. I am not sold that he is a great coach, but he is one hell of a recruiter. He reminds me a lot of Pete Caroll, and right now Calipari has made a nice home for himself in Kentucky, and it should be a good 3 years until the NCAA investigates him once again.

Anwyays, just something to think about if the Cavs to get bounced.

John Calipari Is The Man

So John Calipari is catching a lot of flack for being interested in the Bulls job (which he denies) and a lot of people are starting to say, "Oh here goes Calipari at it again." The reporters are also saying that he is making a mockery of college basketball with his only caring about one year players.

Well there is an easy fucking solution to that and that's get rid of the age limit in the NBA. If you didn't have the gay age limit in the NBA we wouldn't have to deal with all these one and done players. There was really no need for John Wall, Derrick Rose or Michael Beasley to ever touch school.

Coach Cal already has two really good commitments for this year, and the best player signed for the following year. Kentucky is going to continue to be scrutinized for no reason, and Coach Cal is going to get heat for something the NBA made a problem.

And whoever says Coach K and Duke proved you can do it the right way is an asshole and I already hate you.

Coach Cal Continues To Make A Mockery Of College Hoops

Hey guess what everyone Coach Cal did a hell of a job recruiting again. Yesterday John Calipari followed up his Fab 4 recruiting class of 2009 (result: Elite 8 appearance) with the best player in the class of 2010 point guard Brandin Knight and the best player in the class of 2011 small forward Michael Gilchrist. Gilchrist I guess was Chris Douglass Roberts boy, and that's how Cal got to him.

Brandin Knight and Gilchrist are both poised to be one and doners, and with this signing Kentucky is probably back in the top 10.

Bobby Knight Rips John Calipari

"Bobby Knight said integrity is lacking in college basketball and cited Kentucky coach John Calipari as an example. During a fundraiser for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, Knight said he doesn't understand why Calipari is still coaching. We've gotten into this situation where integrity is really lacking and that's why I'm glad I'm not coaching," he said. "You see we've got a coach at Kentucky who put two schools on probation and he's still coaching. I really don't understand that.

"And very few people know this, but a kid can play the first semester as a freshman, pass six hours of anything and play in the NCAA tournament without ever attending a class in the second semester. I don't think that's right."

Massachusetts and Memphis were both sanctioned by the NCAA for violations committed during Calipari's tenure (CBSSports)."

I am a Calipari fan, but every thing Knight said is so true you really can't argue. Calipari runs dirty programs then runs before the NCAA can get ahold of him. It is amazing what this guy has done and no one seems to really go after him. Maybe this will turn a couple heads, but Knight is really on to something here...

Well, Memphis Is Fucked

The NCAA Committee on Infractions will release its findings regarding Memphis on Thursday morning and the word "vacate" is included in the report, several sources told ESPN.com.

In May the NCAA accused Memphis of several major infractions during its 2007-08 season, including a fraudulent SAT score by a player, later to be revealed as Derrick Rose, and more than $2,000 in free travel for Rose's brother, Reggie.

The potential penalties include vacating the Tigers' Final Four run and NCAA-record 38-win season, a possibility that seems likely now, according to the sources. ESPN

This would be the second time Memphis and John Calipari got a final four season taken away. My hope is that this doesn't affect his performance at Kentucky because I've been talking a lot of shit. Derrick Rose denied all of this, but I really think they are going to find that all of this indeed happened, because Memphis had a ridiculous run of the top recruits in the country.

John Wall Pleads Guilty

Kentucky Wildcats recruit John Wall has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and entered a program for first offenders which could lead to having his record cleared.

Wall, 18, pleaded guilty Wednesday to breaking and entering.

Wake County Assistant District Attorney Phillip Cowan said that under the terms of the plea, Wall must complete 75 hours of community service, pay court costs and program fees and stay out of trouble for the next six months.

This is probably the last thing Calipari needs figuring the media shit storm that is about to hit him. However, Wall is going to be nasty and most likely be in the NBA next year.

Memphis May Be Getting In A Lot Of Trouble

The Memphis men's basketball program has been charged by the NCAA with major violations during the 2007-08 season under former coach John Calipari.

The Memphis Commercial Appeal first reported the story on Wednesday after obtaining a letter detailing the allegations through the Freedom of Information Act.

The allegations include "knowing fraudulence or misconduct" on an SAT exam by a player on the 2007-08 team.

The wording of the letter to Memphis indicates that the player in question only competed during the 2007-08 season and the 2008 NCAA tournament. The player's name was redacted in the letter due to privacy laws.

Sources told ESPN.com Wednesday night that Derrick Rose was the player in question. He only played one year for Memphis before being selected No. 1 in the 2008 draft by the Chicago Bulls. ESPN

This seems pretty obvious to me. i was waiting for Memphis to eventually get busted and Calipari to get busted. I mean the guy was getting recruits Blue Chips style for a while and there is no way that program could have been clean. Calipari has been involved with NCAA violations in the past. After his 1995-96 Final Four season at UMass, it was discovered center Marcus Camby had accepted money and gifts from two sports agents. The NCAA made UMass forfeit all 35 wins and vacate its Final Four appearance and banner. Well hopefully, that doesn't affect his time at Kentucky, which i already predicted a final four next year.

John Wall commits to Kentucky

"John Wall has committed to play at Kentucky next season and given John Calipari another one-and-done point guard to help run the dribble-drive motion offense that turned Derrick Rose into the NBA Draft's top pick a year ago (Sportsline)."

Say what you want about Calipari, but the guy can recruit. Wall is by far the best PG coming out of high school, and most people think he will be the #1 pick in the 2010 draft. It sucks that Kentucky will most likely only have him for a year, but he should ease Calipari's transition into Kentucky. He is a bigger PG (6-4) that has drawn a lot of comparisons to Rajon Rondo, but with a better jump shot. Anyways it will be interesting to see this kid playing in the SEC next year...

Oh yea, this is the same guy who was arrested a couple weeks ago for breaking an entering....the new Kentucky Thugcats?

Morning After Reaction To John Calipari

"Kentucky officials told Katz that Calipari will receive an eight-year contract for $31.65 million plus incentives. Kentucky paid Memphis a $200,000 buyout. The exact details of the contract will be revealed at Wednesday's news conference introducing the coach.

Earlier Tuesday, Calipari told a confidante that he was also receiving a $2.5 million signing bonus." ESPN

If Kentucky wants to be back on the national spotlight, they certainly got the man who can get them there. Coming into this year, Calipari had the best recruiting class for Memphis next year, and you have to assume they are going to follow to the coach to Kentucky. SG Xavier Henry, SF DeMarcus Cousins, PG John Wall are all assumed to follow Calipari to Kentucky, and if Jodie Meeks and Patrick Patterson return, we got a ridiculous looking team starting next year. Yesterday I said that Kentucky will win the SEC, and in two years win the NCAA Tournament and I will stand by that.

At least Ashley Judd will be happy.

Calipari Officially A Wildcat

(AP/WHAS11) - WHAS11 News has learned that Memphis coach, John Calipari, has decided to take the offer to be the new University of Kentucky basketball coach. It is said that Calipari took a 8 years deal worth 35 million dollars.

As a Kentucky fan, I am stoked about this. Calipari is going to come in and bring a whole basketball team with him. He has the recruiting ability to get the best players year after year. Expect Kentucky to win the SEC next year, and a national title in two years.

John Calipari To Kentucky?

There has been much speculation on who will get the Kentucky basketball coaching job. I have heard Bobby Knight, Sean Miller, and John Calipari, but obviously the guy who I get most excited about is Calipari. Calipari needs to leave Memphis and take the Kentucky job, if he wants to be mentioned in the elite of college basketball coaches. Kentucky is basketball, is like being the head coach of Alabama for football, it's legendary. Sure he has done a real good job in Memphis and even came within a blink of winning a national championship, but C-USA is terrible and he will continue to have people like me disregarding Memphis every year because they don't play anyone. The SEC isn't that great. They have certain years when they have an unstoppable team, but he could easily get all the recruits and bring Kentucky back to greatness.
