Marshawn Lynch Traded To Seahawks

With the Moss deal blinding everyone else, the Seattle Seahawks made a decent move in trading for disgruntle runningback Marshawn Lynch from Buffalo for a 2011 4th round pick and maybe a 2012 6th round pick.

I refuse to believe that Marshawn is done and isn't good anymore. He was terrific a couple years ago but then has been splitting the ball with Fred Jackson and now CJ Spiller.

Seattle wasn't happy with the production they were getting from Justin Forsett and Julius Jones (they cut jones after the deal) so they traded for the back. Marshawn is still 24 and should be a great addition for the Seahawks. I'm surprised GB and NE struck out with him.

Lynch Back On The Block?

"After rumors swirled prior to Week 2 that Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch was going to be traded -- possibly to the Green Bay Packers -- he instead became the Bills' No. 1 back, leading the team in carries in Weeks 2 and 3. But with their much-discussed change at QB this week, they're also re-considering a change with Lynch.

Jason Wilde of ESPN 540 Radio in Milwaukee reports that the Bills have put out word that they'll start listening to trade offers for Lynch (ESPN)."

The Packers really need to sign this guy, because right now they have no balance on offense. I think Lynch is still a very good running back, and would be a great fit in Green Bay. Plus next season the combo of Grant and Lynch could be one of the better backfields in the league.

I think we are going to hear a lot more rumors over the next couple of weeks, and the Bills would be stupid to not trade him the two other talented running backs on their roster. It just makes too much sense for this not to happen, but then again this is the NFL.

Other teams rumored to have interest are the Denver Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Redskins and St. Louis Rams.

Lynch To Packers?

This rumor has been floating around ever since Ryan Grant went down the the season. It makes a lot of sense for both sides. The Bills already have two running backs that they feel could start on a lot of teams (Spiller/Jackson), and they have a lot of other holes to fill. The Packers need a running back, and Rodgers went to school with Marshawn Lynch at Cal. All around it just makes too much sense not to happen.

The Packers could trade draft picks OR AJ Hawk. Hawk has basically lost his job, and only plays when the Packers are in dime or nickle, so he could also be used as trade bait. If I was the Packers I would rather give up a draft pick (my guess is a 3rd or 4th rounder) then give up the depth at LB, but the Bills could certainly be eyeing Hawk.

Marshawn Lynch Suspended 3 Games

The Buffalo Bills will be without starting running back Marshawn Lynch for the first three games of the upcoming regular-season.

According to a league source, Lynch will receive a three-game suspension from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell as a result of his arrest in California in February on gun-possession charges. The official announcement could come today.

No big deal. Roger Goodell should have suspended him and he did.

Marshawn Lynch To Meet With Goodell

"Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch will meet Tuesday with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in New York to discuss Lynch's arrest last month -- the second time in nine months he has been involved with the law (Sportsline)."

Rumors are is that he will be suspended, but for no more then 2 games. Lynch earlier this month pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge stemming from a Feb. 11 arrest. Goodell does his best to try to keep these players in order, though they really don't make it easy on him. Overall I really like what Goodell does when it comes to these off the field problems. Hopefully Lynch will learn from this, and not be a repeat offender like so many NFL players are.

Lynch Gets Probation

I don't know what to think of Marshawn Lynch, because I like him. Mostly because of this Mayne Event:

But he has got himself in legal trouble quite frequently. His recent legal troubles have got him probation for a misdemeanor gun charge. If it was up to me and I was a GM I wouldn't draft anyone with dreads. They always seem to be bad news. Living in New Orleans, I know that I trust them the least out of all the people here. If you look back in the history of people the dread people have always been the scum of the earth. Either way, Lynch did the Mayne Event and is cool with me.

Marshawn Lynch Arrested

"Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested in Southern California on a weapons charge, police said Sunday. Police said Lynch was arrested Wednesday night after officers approached him and two other men sitting in a 2006 Mercedes-Benz in this Los Angeles suburb and found a loaded firearm. Lynch was arrested after officers determined the gun belonged to him. He was released that night on $35,000 bail (Sportsline)."

This was the last thing the Buffalo Bills needed, as they are trying to rise up in the AFC East. Lynch is a main factor in this team doing anything next year and if he has to miss a game or two because of this it could really hurt the team. In the grand scheme of things this really isn't a big deal, but with all the problems the NFL has had with their players expect Goodell to continue to come down hard on any player that is arrested. To make matters worse this is the 2nd time in under a year that Lynch has had trouble with the law. In June, Lynch pleaded guilty to a traffic violation and admitted speeding off in his Porsche Cayenne SUV after striking a female pedestrian near Buffalo. With that already on his record you would think he is going to be suspended at least a game or 2 next season.

Lynch took a step last season as his rushing yards dropped slightly from the year before, but his yard per carry and TDs were about the same. Lynch is a very good running back, but until the Bills get more weapons around him he will not have a break out year, and missing a couple games won't help any of that.
