Mike McKenzie Is Gonna Make It Nolia Clap Again

With the news from NFL Insider Adam Schefter that the New Orleans Saints are poised to sign veteran DB Mike McKenzie today, the next question is: how will he (and last week's signee Chris McAlister) be deployed as Gregg Williams' defense plans for the showdown with the New England Patriots next Monday? ESPN

I love this move and the move to get McAlister. McKenzie is only being a year removed from being a disruptive CB, and he can absolutely have some positive effect on any game. Next week the Saints are going against a pass happy New England Patriots team, and they will need everyone to play well. Greg Williams has done a hell of a job thus far this season, and I bet he will have something drawn up for next game. Who Dat?

Boy This Sounds Terribly Painful

New Orleans cornerback Mike McKenzie suffered a fractured right kneecap on Sunday, forcing him to contemplate another long rehabilitation less than one year after having reconstructive surgery on the same knee. ESPN

Like I have been reporting all year, the Saints injuries are getting laughable. Not only is this team terribly inconsistent on defense, it has now lost their best defensive lineman in Charles Grant and now their best cornerback in Mike KcKenzie. With a team who is already pretty bad on the defensive side this is the last thing they need to hear.
