Mike Miller Out For A While

The severity of Miami Heat guard Mike Miller's thumb injury isn't public but conclusions could be drawn by the mood in the locker room.

The Heat did not announce the findings from an MRI Miller received Thursday on his right hand. But the team is bracing itself to be without its best shooter for an extended period, several weeks at least. ESPN

This is a huge injury because no only does it take 1 of the 2 guys who spread the court off of it but it makes them a lot smaller as they will have to rely on Eddie House to be their 3 point threat. We've seen Eddie and there is one thing I learned is that he's an efficient perimeter defender but if he is on say Rajon or if they put him on Ray Allen and if they are aggressive, that won't be a good thing. Miller is a guy who knows his role and makes correct decision making. And even though the regular season in the NBA means nothing, it will be cool to see the Heat lose a couple more games.

Heat Make More Moves

Everyone and their mother will be talking about Lebron today, but the Heat have gone out and made more moves today. They're shipping Michael Beasley to the Timberwolves and agreeing with Wizards free agent Mike Miller on a five-year, $30 million deal. Miami virtually gives away Beasley, the 2008 No. 2 overall draft pick, receiving only a second-round pick and an exchange of first-round picks so that it can get needed cap space.

We all knew Beasley was on his way out, but I have to say I like this for the Timberwolves. I know Beasley has been a shithead, but maybe now that he is out of Miami and off to the great state of Minnesota, things will calm down for him.

The Heat get much needed cap space, and a nice outside shooter in Mike Miller. He could find himself with a lot of open looks with Lefag, Wade, and Bosh taking most (if not all) the focus from the opposing defenses.

Celtics To Target Mike Miller/ Brad Miller

There are reports coming out of Boston that the Celtics are targeting Mike and Brad Miller (no relation). I don't like either player but I can see how both can make a contribution to the Celtics. Brad Miller would be a decent replacement for Perks recovery time and even a better player being a big man coming off the bench. He has a mid range game and is big, however, he isn't the best rebounder(downer). Mike Miller would be a good signing due to his ability to knock the 3 ball down and spread the floor on a consistent bases. He has been the 6th man of the year in the past and can bring some of that energy off our bench especially if we lose Tony Allen and Nate Robinson.

Again, at this point all of this is speculation, but I'm just relaying what I hear.

Another Celtics Trade Rumor

Here's one from a Star Tribune blog (Minn. paper). There’s another trade rumor floating out there seemingly even more far-fetched than the Al and No. 6 to Phoenix for Amare: This one says the Wolves send Mike Miller, Randy Foye and Ryan Gomes to Boston for Ray Allen. Since Kahn lamented Friday how nobody in the media business calls anymore for confirmation and denial of such rumors, I texted Kahn about this one and asked if there was possibly any truth to it. He sent back a one word answer: "No." (Celticsblog)

I can't wait for this draft to be over so maybe these bogus trade rumors will slow down. Anyways this is obviously an interesting trade rumor. I miss Gomes a lot and I really think he could fill a lot of what the Celtics are looking for coming off their bench, but it really doesn't matter since the Celtics have come out and denied this. Still, for all these Allen rumors to be going around the Celtics have to at least be listening to offers, or on the phone making offers of their own.
