'Fridge' Released From Hospital

"William "The Refrigerator" Perry has been released from the hospital after a month long stay for complications of a nervous system disorder (Sportsline)."

Sounds like the Fridge is doing a lot better, but it is kind of odd that the doctors would not come out and say how he was doing, just that he was stable enough to go home. So, I really have no idea if he is on his death bed or not. Perry is 46 years old, but guys his size who play in the NFL usually only make it to their mid 50's. Hopefully he will be fine, and we wish him the best.

Refrigerator Perry Hospitalized

"Former Chicago Bears defensive lineman William "The Refrigerator" Perry is in serious condition at a South Carolina hospital, a spokeswoman said Tuesday. Perry, 46, was hospitalized to deal with complications from Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a chronic inflammation disorder of the peripheral nerves, the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune reported (Sportsline)."

The life expectancy for a guy his size is only like 58 years old, so this shouldn't come at too much of a surprise. We wish him the best. Perry became famous when Mike Ditka used him as a short-yardage fullback on goal-line plays. Pats fan should remember him from his thunderous touchdown against them in the 1986 Super Bowl. Now he is a shell of himself, since this disease attacks nerve cells that support the muscles, which will eventually deteriorate his muscles, which is a really bad thing when you're 300+ pounds.
