With The 10th Pick in the NFL Draft The Washington Redskins Select..... (CORRECTION)

DP's Pick:
Jake Locker QB Washington

This is certainly a reach and many people will question this move, but they really need a QB and this will be Mike Shannahan's legacy player. Right now they don't have a QB, McNabb will be cut and there is no way that experiment worked. If Jake Locker left last year he would have been jockeying for the number 1 pick. He does need some time to develop some mechanical issues, but at least they get their guy.

BMack's Pick:
Julio Jones, WR, Alabama

I like DP's thinking with his pick, but Locker is just too much of a reach. The one position they have needed for a long time is WR. Santana Moss is a solid WR, but he is someone who really needs a big time WR across from him. Julio Jones can be that guy. He ran a 4.3 with a broken foot. He is big, fast, and tall. He did kind of underperformed in college for what my expectations were, but there is just too much talent here to pass up.

***CORRECTION***

DP called me out and he is 100% correct. I didn't realize the year Julio Jones had last year. I was thinking of his 2009 year when he didn't even have 600 yards receiving. Last season he had 1,133 yards and 7 TDs.

Stupid College Football Decisions Feat. Jake Locker

Washington Huskies quarterback Jake Locker announced Monday that he will return for his senior season instead of entering the NFL draft, despite most projections slotting him as an early first-round selection. ESPN

Hey Jake, ask Sam Bradford and Matt Leinart about your decision. This is the worst move for any junior. Locker was probably going to be the first or second qb taken in the draft, but now he has to wait another year before entering the draft. Locker was compared to a stronger Steve Young, but I guess if he wants to stay in beautiful Washington he should go for it.

Nick Montana Commits To Washington

"The Seattle Times reports that the son of former NFL great Joe Montana has decided to play football at Washington. Nick Montana, from Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, Calif., is rated among the top quarterbacks in the class of 2010. The Times reported Wednesday that Montana called Washington coach Steve Sarkisian on Tuesday night and said he would become a Husky. Montana had scholarship offers from Ohio State, LSU, Alabama, Georgia and his dad's alma mater, Notre Dame (Sportsline)."

Before a man named Tom Brady came into my life Joe Montana was my favorite QB. I am interested to see how is son does, but something seems a little off about this story. The kid had offers from LSU, Alabama, Ohio St., Georgia, Notre Dame, and he chooses Washington who was 0-12 last year? I don't know I think Washington may have been slipping 40 grand in a dufflebag to land this kid. I just can't see anyone passing up those school to play at Washington, but that's just me....

Anyways I hope he is awesome.

Tyrone Willingham Fired

Tyrone Willingham was fired after losing to Notre Dame 33-7 on Saturday. The Huskies are now an atrocious 0-7 on the season. Well, I guess all the talk that Willingham shouldn't have been fired from Notre Dame can finally be put to rest now. Willingham has been terrible at Washington going 11-32 through 4 seasons. I wonder if all those columnists that said the firing from ND was racially motivated will step up and admit that they were wrong. Black or white 11-32 is just awful. Anyways, he is being allowed to finish out the season, which will give Washington time to find a replacement. The only people I feel bad for are the people from the state of Washington who have just had terrible sports teams this year.
