Zach Thomas To Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs and seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker Zach Thomas have agreed to a one-year, $2 million deal, a source told ESPN.com's John Clayton.

Thomas, 36, started 14 of 16 games for the Dallas Cowboys in 2008 during his 13th NFL season, recording 94 tackles, 65 of which came solo. ESPN

At this point of his career, Zach Thomas is a joke. He is going to be a guy who lasts way too long. He is extremely limited when it comes to passing downs, and will be highly ineffective. It is funny though how the Kansas City Chiefs are taking a page out of the Patriots playbook, by taking in all these former pro bowl players Thomas, and Vrabel. Thomas won't hurt this team, but he won't help that much either.

Well, Whaddya Know?

The Patriots offered the 34 year old, middle linebacker, liability an offer sheet today. Zach Thomas, the Miami Dolphin cast away, is looking to join 39 year old Junior Seau and Tedy Bruschi as the most over-rated linebacking tandem. I wonder if the Patriots will still look at a linebacker in the draft or continue to ignore it. Either way I'm sure Belichick will get lots of praise for this move. But good call Mack.

Zach Thomas a Patriot?

I saw on Sportsline.com that Zach Thomas was cut today by the Dolphins. It stated that "The Miami Dolphins will release seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker Zach Thomas, who plans to continue his career with another team". Would there be a better fit than with the New England Patriots? An experienced vet who DP hates, looking for a team to end his career with. He could fill in the role of Seau (who I hate more than any player that has been on a favorite team of mine, FUCK OFF SEAU), and be a solid contributer to stop the run. The Patriots hate to draft LBs so this looks like an interesting move, since they could probably get him for cheap because he has never won a ring and would want one to cap off his Hall of Fame career.
