Belichick Not Happy With Thomas

"The New England Patriots already have one relatively useless veteran on their roster in Joey Galloway, who was signed this offseason to be the team's No. 3 wideout, but was ineffective in action before being a healthy scratch the past three weeks. But on Sunday, Adalius Thomas was also listed as an inactive in spite of being healthy. This has prompted Shalise Manza Young of the Providence Journal to reason that perhaps Pats coach Bill Belichick is not happy with the production he's getting out of Thomas. On the other hand, in his post-game comments, Belichick addressed the Thomas scratch as just a shift in strategy: "We just went with the players we thought would have a bigger role in the game (ESPN)."

Thomas has been a huge disappointment for the Patriots, but I don't think his time in New England is over yet. The Patriots had to of known they were going to win easily over the lowly Titans, and maybe this was Belichick's way of trying to fire him up. Then again, this is the Patriots, so the fuck knows...

Brandon Jacobs To The Bench

New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has not had the kind of season so far that some people expected. For those of us in the fantasy world, he's been a big disappointment, tied with Tim Hightower for 26th amongst running backs in scoring. But as we noted yesterday, he's also getting a little annoyed at the somewhat unreal expectations being placed on him. Ahmad Bradshaw would likely be the man that takes the number one spot. ESPN

Brandon Jacobs sucks. He always has and he always will. For a big runningback like himself how he is managing only 3.6 yards per carry is astounding. As a Steelers fan, I witnessed Jerome Bettis be our runningback and seeing him make holes through the line and fall forward averaging 4.8 ypc. When I watch Brandon Jacobs, it makes me think that Trung Candidate was a more physical runner. If there is a weakness to this Giants team it would be the run game, but with the way Eli is playing stopping the run doesn't seem to matter either.

Now What For The Celtics?

If we ultimately can't sign Big Baby, then hell sign and trade him, however if we can, we need to bring him back. Baby is an extremely important player to this team and an ultimate hustle guy. Sure he had a great play-off run and I don't think that was a fluke. Baby will also give Perk, Sheed, and KG all necessary minutes on the bench. His range and size make him extremely hard to defend. If it is all possible, I want my baby back. And the second guy I want back is Hard Work Leon Powe. I know this could be a sentimental pick, but if the guy does return by All-Star break and can play like he did before he got injured, then this would be another steal. Leon Powe brings an all out effort on both ends of the court and has knack for getting to the free throw line. ACL injuries our tough to come back from, and I know these are a lot of ifs. But if it is at all possible to get him back why now? We could probably get him for dirt cheap anyways.

So my final bench would be:
PG: House, Hudson
SG: Giddins
SF: Daniels
PF: Baby, Powe
C: Sheed

Not to shabby?
