Carlos Quentin Season To End Early?

"The Chicago Tribune reports that White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen suggested Wednesday that if the White Sox get knocked out of contention early, Carlos Quentin may be better served sitting out the remainder of the season. Guillen also said Wednesday that he does not expect Quentin back until after the mid-July All-Star break. "If Carlos is back before the All-Star break, it's a blessing," Guillen said. "We'll be lucky. But I told Carlos, 'I don't want you to be a hero. I want you to go on the field when you can go on the field. If you can't do anything about it, just make sure to let me know (Sportsline)."

The White Sox are a mess. Their rotation is subpar and seemingly aging by the day. Their hitting is starting to get old, and they have a bunch of hitters that are all or nothing type of guys (Thome, Dye, Konerko, ect). I don't think they will be making the playoffs, so if Ozzie is being serious I don't see Quentin playing much more this season. This team needs to be rebuild. They have some young pitching coming up, and guys like Danks need to turn the corner. Still, they are at least a year away, and this could be a killer for fantasy owners of Quentin.

Carlos Quintin Is A Dumbass

Apparently Quintin fouled out against Cy Young winner Cliff Lee and punched his bat with his right hand breaking his wrist.

Well sucks for you Chicago and anyone who owns this guy in fantasy baseball. With Chicago losing a guy who has hit 36 Dingers and 100 RBIs right before the play-offs is pretty much going to guarantee they will A. Slide and get passed by the Twins who are two up in the loss column. B. Get knocked out of the play-offs first round. or C. Ken Griffey Jr. will remain healthy and become superman like he was in the 90s.

Personally, I think A.

Also, this could and should affect his MVP run and make our little Dusty the top candidate.

White Sox Beat Red Sox 6-5

Clay Buchholz once again got lit up today, and you have to wonder how much longer the Sox will stick with him, since he has lost his last 6 starts in a row. Boston had an early lead going up 3-0 on a Mike Lowell 3-run HR in the 1st. The good time did not last long, as Dye hit a solo HR in the very next inning followed by two 2-runs HRs in the 3rd by Quentin (side note: MVP???) and Jim Thome. Buchholz came back in during the 4th, but wasn't able to record an out. The Sox made a comeback in the late innings but it wasn't enough and the Sox lost 6-5.
