Carlos Quentin Season To End Early?

"The Chicago Tribune reports that White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen suggested Wednesday that if the White Sox get knocked out of contention early, Carlos Quentin may be better served sitting out the remainder of the season. Guillen also said Wednesday that he does not expect Quentin back until after the mid-July All-Star break. "If Carlos is back before the All-Star break, it's a blessing," Guillen said. "We'll be lucky. But I told Carlos, 'I don't want you to be a hero. I want you to go on the field when you can go on the field. If you can't do anything about it, just make sure to let me know (Sportsline)."

The White Sox are a mess. Their rotation is subpar and seemingly aging by the day. Their hitting is starting to get old, and they have a bunch of hitters that are all or nothing type of guys (Thome, Dye, Konerko, ect). I don't think they will be making the playoffs, so if Ozzie is being serious I don't see Quentin playing much more this season. This team needs to be rebuild. They have some young pitching coming up, and guys like Danks need to turn the corner. Still, they are at least a year away, and this could be a killer for fantasy owners of Quentin.
