Lakers Sell 29th Pick To Knicks
"The NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers have sold the No. 29 pick in the first round of the NBA draft to the New York Knicks for $3 million, multiple sources told ESPN.com's Andy Katz. Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak followed through on his intention to deal the pick after saying Wednesday the pick had generated a lot of interest (ESPN)."
The Lakers really don't need to add anyone through the draft. Right now their focus is on preserving their team. To do that they need to shed some salaries, which then then they can move and resign Trevor Ariza, Shannon Brown and Lamar Odom. They will be over the cap next season, but at least way they have cut some of the cost.
The Knicks on the other hand are looking for a guard. Rumor has it they are looking at University of Miami's Jack McClinton. We'll find out tonight...
