DC NBA Mock Draft

1. Clippers: Blake Griffin PF Oklahoma
Why not, he was the best college player this year, but there will be a log jam at the PF position with Chris Kaman, Zach Randolph and Blake Griffin. Expect a draft day trade from them.

2. Memphis Grizzlies: Hasheem Thabeet C UConn
I'm not a Thabeet fan, he lacks great offensive game, but he can defend. I guess a 7-3 guy can't hurt any team.

3. OKC Thunder: Ricky Rubio PG
I love Rubio. I would have loved the Celtics to get him, however, that won't happen. The Thunder are putting together a really good looking young team. With Westbrook, Durant and now Rubio.

4. Sacramento Kings: Tyreke Evans SG Memphis
Tyreke Evans WILL be the best player out of the draft. He needs work defensively, but as a pure scorer he is as talented as Kevin Durant. Also, Evans needs to realize he has 4 other teammates.

5. Minnesota Timberwolves: Stephen Curry PG Davidson

Curry will turn into a SG on the pro level because he doesn't have the ball handling skills that a pro PG needs. If he can keep his sweet shot and get a little bit more muscle on him, he will be in great shape.

6. Minnesota Timberwolves: Johnny Flynn PG Syracuse

Little Johnny Flynn comes off the board early to the Timberwolves, who have now secured their backcourt just fine. Since getting rid of Randy Foye they need a replacement, and Flynn and Curry will be more than able to take the reigns.

7. Golden State Warriors: Jordan Hill PF Arizona

I would have had them pick Lawson here, but since they traded for Acie Law and already have Monta Eliis who can play PG, I figured a big man will suffice. Hill can run up and down the court and that is exactly what Don Nelson will be asking from him.

8. New York Knicks: Jrue Holiday PG UCLA

Since the Knicks missed out on basically everybody, they will have to settle with Holiday or Jennings. The Knicks fans, will once again boo and they will have another bust on their hands.

9. Toronto Raptors: DeMar DeRozan SG USC

Since Marion and Anthony Parker are gone, they need a good swingman, and in this boys eyes DeRozan is the most talented one left.

10. Milwaukee Bucks: James Harden SG Arizona State

Harden will fill in nicely for Richard Jefferson, who was just traded to the Spurs.

11. New Jersey Nets: Terrence Williams SG Louisville

I love Terrence Williams and I love this pick. Even though the Nets really don't care what happens until 2010 They have done a great job drafting.

12. Charlotte Bobcats: Gerald Henderson SG Duke

Another swing and miss for Jordan and the Bobcats.

13. Indiana Pacers: Eric Maynor PG VCU

This was a tough decision between Lawson and Maynor, but the Pacers will ultimately choose Maynor for his length and toughness, and durability.

14. Phoenix Suns: B.J. Mullins Ohio State C
Mullins really needed to stay in school another year, but he left because his family was broke. But since the Suns got rid of Shaq they need another big man, and Mullins will have that shot in Phoenix.

15. Detroit Pistons: Earl Clark SF Louisville
I believe Earl Clark is the most verastile player in this draft and if he develops a ridiculous work ethic he can turn into being the best player in the draft. However, that is a big if.

16. Chicago Bulls: James Johnson PF Wake Forest
He is perfect for the Bulls run and gun style offense and will be a welcomed addition.

17. Philadelphia 76ers: Ty Lawson PG UNC
With Andre Miller hitting free agency, they need to fill that hole and Ty Lawson will be a great replacement. Although I question his height and durability he is the best pg left on the board.

18. Minnesota Timberwovles: Austin Daye SF Gonzaga

Daye is one of the most skilled players in the draft -- sort of a 6-foot-11 version of Tayshaun Prince. He's super skinny, but he can really shoot the rock.

19. Atlanta Hawks: Brandon Jennings PG

Jennings went over to Europe because he said fuck college, and it worked for him. Sure he isn't getting drafted in the lottery, but getting drafted in the first round is still good. He will fill the shoes of Mike Bibby easily.

20. Utah Jazz: Tyler Hansbrough PF UNC

Of course they pick him. He is white.

21. New Orleans Hornets: Sam Young SF Pittsburgh

Even though the Hornets are in desperate need of a big man, Sam Young is the most NBA ready player in this draft. The Boy can flat out score and will be a big asset on spreading the ball out for CP.

22. Portland Trailblazers: DeJuan Blair PF Pittsburgh
Blair is a beast, and absolutely tore it up in college. I don't know if he will be able to do that in the NBA because he is undersized, but I see him making more of an impact than Hansbrough.

23. Sacramento Kings: Omri Casspi SF Israel

Because he can stay in Israel for a couple of years, while the Kings figure shit out.

24. Mavericks: Jeff Teague PG Wake
25. Thunder: Chase Buddinger SG Arizona
26. Bulls: Nick Calathis PG Florida
27. Memphis: DeMarre Carroll SF Mizzou
28. Timberwolves: Jonas Jerebko SF Sweden
29. Lakers: Some PG
30. Cavs: Taj Gibson PF USC
